Sarah Palin is smarter than Bill Nye, the Science Guy??? “Bill Nye is as much a scientist as I am,” says Palin, America’s #2 bimbo. “He’s a kids’ show actor, he’s not a scientist.” Before we go any further, let us take a look at Mr. Nye’s creds:
- Upon earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University, Nye went on to begin his career at The Boeing Company in Seattle, where he would live for many years. Nye developed a hydraulic pressure resonance suppressor that is still used in the Boeing 747.
- In the early 2000s, he helped develop sundials that were used in the Mars Exploration Rover missions. From 2005 to 2010, he served as vice president and then as second executive director of The Planetary Society, one of the largest space-interest groups in the world.
- Nye served as Frank H. T. Rhodes Visiting Professor at Cornell. He holds honorary doctorate degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Goucher College and Johns Hopkins.
And now Ms. Palin’s creds:
- After graduating from high school in 1982, Palin enrolled at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Shortly after arriving in Hawaii, Palin transferred to Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu for a semester in the fall of 1982 and then to North Idaho College, a community college in Coeur d’Alene, for the spring and fall semesters of 1983. She enrolled at the University of Idaho in Moscow for an academic year starting in August 1984 and then attended Matanuska-Susitna College in Alaska in the fall of 1985. Palin returned to the University of Idaho in January 1986 and received her bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in journalism in May 1987.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I did not see anything remotely to do with science in Ms. Palin’s educational summary. Actually, I did not see anything that even remotely qualified her to operate in the capacity of Governor of Alaska, but that is now a moot point. Five colleges in five years.
This is typical of Palin, to never bother to check facts, to assume that if she speaks it, people will stand in line to buy into it. I cannot wait to see, since she is now a “scientist” and has concluded, based on her years of scientific research, what issue she will tackle next! She once said (in 2011), ”I love that smell of the emissions!” So, she is almost certainly smarter than the EPA.
Ms. Palin is a joke, and I could go on and on and on. However, in this already off-the-rails election year, a joke can quickly turn into a train wreck. With an almost certain “contested convention” looming for the GOP in July, Palin is inciting voters to ‘rise up’ if the nominee should be anyone other than Trump or Cruz. She says she plans to attend the convention in Cleveland, though she apparently is not on the list of invitees. Her plan, apparently, is to “invite myself to the party.” Ms. Palin is obviously not an intellectual, is not well-educated, served only two years as governor of Alaska before resigning, and continues to open her mouth where she ought not. Normally, people would only laugh at her, and most today do, I think. But she could become a danger if, along with Donald Trump, she continues to spout nonsense and adds fuel to already smoldering fires. But that is a story for another day. For now, I leave you with one final ‘Palin-ism’: “Only dead fish go with the flow.”
