Although I started this blog several years ago, it has only been for the past year or so that I have taken it seriously, seen it as something that I own, something that has much value in my life. This blog has become my outlet for thoughts that might otherwise consume me, a voice I can use to try to speak out against that which I think is wrong in the world. I try, though sometimes in vain, to write two posts daily and try to make most of them thoughtful and interesting, some humorous. And I try very hard to make sure my facts are facts, not conjecture, though I have flubbed that a time or two, also.
At the beginning of this year, when I decided to get busy and turn this blog into something I could be proud of, I had about 80 followers. Although I did not set out to compete with some of my fellow-bloggers whose readers number in the thousands, I did want to increase my readership if possible. With that in mind, I set a goal to reach 200 followers by the end of 2016. I am thrilled to no end to announce that this week I reached that goal, before the end of July! My most heartfelt thanks to all who follow this blog, who read and take the time to comment on nearly every post! Those who are regular commenters feel like old friends, and it is hard to believe that it has been such a short time since I began this journey!
I have “met” people from all over the globe and have broadened my view of different cultures and viewpoints. This blog has subtly shifted from what I initially envisioned, primarily due to the political climate and changes not only here in the U.S., but around the globe. I am sure there will be other shifts as time goes by, but I no longer sit with a blank page wondering what to write about today … now my dilemma is how to write about all the things I need and want to write about within the constraints of only 24 hours in a day!
THANK YOU dear readers for all the support and love you have given me, and for your help in making this blog something that I take pride in. Every single comment, every ‘like’ means so much to me and inspires me to do more, to do better. So cheers, my friends … and here’s to, as Paul Harvey used to say, The Rest Of The Story! Cheers!
