What a complete and total waste of taxpayer’s hard-earned money!  What a travesty of justice!

The headline:

Republicans on House Panel Find No Evidence of Collusion, Russian Preference for Trump

“We’ve found no evidence of collusion … perhaps some bad judgment, inappropriate meetings, inappropriate judgment at taking meetings … only Tom Clancy or Vince Flynn or someone else like that could take this series of inadvertent contacts with each other, meetings, whatever and weave that into some sort of a fiction, page turner spy thriller.  We’re not dealing in fiction, we’re dealing in facts, and we found no evidence of any collusion.” – Republican Representative K. Michael Conaway

Either this man is lying through his teeth, as is every member of that panel, else they did not even open their eyes during their entire investigation.  There is so much smoke that the building is nearly up in flames, and they conclude that there is no fire, and ‘let’s go back to sleep now, boys’.  I wonder how they plan to justify their conclusions when Robert Mueller finalizes his report and proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that there was mass collusion between multiple members of the Trump campaign and the Russians?  They will either be proven liars or ignorant fools. Or both.

Representative Adam Schiff, the ranking democrat on the panel, said just last month that based on what he had seen, there was “ample evidence” of collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign.  Democrats’ requests for subpoenas for hostile witnesses have been ignored by the panel.  Conaway’s response?  “We’ve interviewed everyone we think we need to interview.”  FOUL!!!

Democrats were not involved with drafting the GOP’s report and were not presented with a copy of the findings.  Conaway said democrats would receive a copy of the report on Tuesday, and the final copy is expected to be made public sometime in April.

Now I ask you this:  How, with all the indictments and guilty pleas that have been a result of Robert Mueller’s investigation, can the House panel simply close their eyes and say, “Nope, nothing to see here, folks.”?  HOW???

Here is the list of the republicans on the panel:And here is the comprehensive list as of February 28 of all who have been indicted and/or made plea deals as a result of the Mueller investigation:

1) George Papadopoulos, former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser, pleaded guilty in October to making false statements to the FBI.

2) Michael Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser, pleaded guilty in December to making false statements to the FBI.

3) Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chair, was indicted in October in Washington, DC on charges of conspiracy, money laundering, false statements, and failure to disclose foreign assets — all related to his work for Ukrainian politicians before he joined the Trump campaign. He’s pleaded not guilty on all counts. Then, in February, Mueller filed a new case against him in Virginia, with tax, financial, and bank fraud charges.

4) Rick Gates, a former Trump campaign aide and Manafort’s longtime junior business partner, was indicted on similar charges to Manafort. But he has now agreed to a plea deal with Mueller’s team, pleading guilty to just one false statements charge and one conspiracy charge.

5-20) 13 Russian nationals and three Russian companies were indicted on conspiracy charges, with some also being accused of identity theft. The charges related to a Russian propaganda effort designed to interfere with the 2016 campaign. The companies involved are the Internet Research Agency, often described as a “Russian troll farm,” and two other companies that helped finance it. The Russian nationals indicted include 12 of the agency’s employees and its alleged financier, Yevgeny Prigozhin.

21) Richard Pinedo: This California man pleaded guilty to an identity theft charge in connection with the Russian indictments, and has agreed to cooperate with Mueller.

22) Alex van der Zwaan: This London lawyer pleaded guilty to making false statements to the FBI about his contacts with Rick Gates and another unnamed person based in Ukraine.

Nope, no collusion here … nothing to see here … move along and let’s get busy building that wall, mining more coal, trashing more federal lands to drill for oil, and put all this nonsense about collusion behind us, right?

Look once again at that list of the members of the investigative panel.  They should not even have their name on the ballot in November, let alone be re-elected.  Did they bow to pressure from Trump?  Do they really believe that We The People are so stupid as to buy their garbage?  Was there pressure from someone other than Trump?  Were rewards offered, perhaps campaign donations to add to their coffers?  Or were they simply tired of pretending to do a job, the one for which we pay them?  I don’t know the answers, but I do know that their consciences ought to be keeping them awake as I write this post.  I do know that they are Dishonest with a capital ‘D’.  And I do know they do not deserve our respect nor our votes.

Trump was fairly please, as he tweeted …

7:49 PM – 12 Mar 2018

Ultimately, it appears, the only investigation that will get to the truth is that by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.  If something happens that disrupts his investigation, that halts it, we will have no justice in this nation, now or likely ever again.  I will be tweeting this post directly to the two panel members from my state, as well as to Trump.

    • Yep … and are we surprised? I cannot help wondering, though, when Mueller’s investigation provides irrefutable evidence of both collusion and obstruction, how will the members of the House Committee defend their findings, or lack thereof? And that question leads me to believe that there will be strong attempts to either completely discredit or shut down the Mueller investigation. Your thoughts?

  1. Dear Jill,
Rep. Devin Nunes and his republican cronies on the US House Intelligence Committee have sold out this country to Russia.

The #1 culprit is the US House Speaker Paul Ryan who appointed Mr. Nunes as the committee’s chairman and who has covered for him at every step.

Mr. Nunes represents the Israeli faction who are ecstatic over the presidency of Donald Trump. He is sponsored by the likes of Sufra Catz, CEO of Oracle and her buddy, Sheldon Adelson.

The president has acted on their behalf when he ordered the move of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This group has aligned themselves with UAE and Saudi Arabia to tear up the 2015 US iran Nuclear deal.
    Hugs, Gronda

    • Thanks again for the info, my friend! I was not at all aware of Nunes’ connection to Catz and Adelson! I am, however, aware of Paul Ryan’s treason, and treason it is, for he is placing our nation at risk by not removing Nunes from the House Intelligence Committee. I meant to write to him today, but the day got away from me … I shall do it tomorrow. What a murky mess Trump has made in a short 14 months! Hugs!!!

  2. Apparently, one of the Republican members of that committee is having second thoughts. From: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/house-intel-republican-contradicts-panel-says-russia-tried-to-help-trump-in-2016/ar-BBK90R3

“Rep. Tom Rooney (R-Fla.), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said on Monday that ‘there is evidence’ showing the Russians attempted to help Trump during the 2016 presidential election, contradicting a draft report from the panel.

‘I certainly think there is evidence of that. I don’t know that necessarily there was a full-fledged campaign to do everything that they could to help elect Donald Trump,’ Rooney told host Erin Burnett on CNN’s ‘OutFront.’ ‘I think that their goal was chaos.’

Burnett pointed out that ‘the intelligence community had said’ Moscow’s intention ‘was to hurt Hillary Clinton,’ and that the Kremlin ‘wanted to explicitly help Donald Trump.’

Rooney responded: ‘Yes, I believe there’s evidence of everything that you just said.'”

    • Perfect analogy! I cannot help wondering, though, how the members of the House investigation will justify their blindness when Robert Mueller’s final report is issued? That makes me a bit nervous, wondering if they know something we don’t, such as that the Mueller investigation is going to be … well, as in the Reichstag Fire … burned to the ground? Sigh. My mind takes off on tangents these days. 🙃

        • You know what puzzles me, though? That ‘large number of people’, the majority in many cases, don’t seem to matter as much as the smaller number of people. Now, granted, with a republican majority in both branches of Congress and in the White House, they are naturally more prone to listen to their own supporters first. But how can they simply ignore the majority? I’m scratching my head here, for surely they realize that there is a mid-term election coming up? It’s mind-boggling! I’ve truly, in all my 66 years, never seen such blatant disregard for the majority of the nation!

          • This is what happens when folk get out of touch and hooked on the benefits of being in power. (A) They think it will last for ever & (B) They will only listen to what they want to hear.
I mean that’s fine if you are in a niche band or write in a certain genre or follow a particular sport, but it’s not a worthy attitude to have when involved in governing a nation. (And down right dumb in a democracy)

              • Dignity at all times Jill…
Try Cromwell’s speech when he dissolved Parliament:
Oliver Cromwell – Dissolution of the Long Parliament 1653
                20 April 1653.

It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice; ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government; ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.

Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess? Ye have no more religion than my horse; gold is your God; which of you have not barter’d your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?

Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defil’d this sacred place, and turn’d the Lord’s temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices? Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation; you were deputed here by the people to get grievances redress’d, are yourselves gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.

In the name of God, go!

Quite apt in some places, don’t you think?

        • I do so dread this election season, for I believe it will be uber-toxic and even further divide this nation. I’m looking forward to the election, starting to believe that we might actually be able to achieve some big wins. But the lead-up to November is going to be very, very ugly, I think. I should probably start stocking up on tobacco and wine, yes? And as for damage in the meantime … I think with his two latest appointees, Trump is planning to cement his cabinet of clowns and fools quickly, now that he sees the direction the wind is blowing. I also very much fear attempts to either discredit or shut down the Mueller investigation, and that frightens me. It will not be a boring 8 months. Milk is good for ulcers, I hear. 😉

          • I hear you, Jill. Someday, I should dive into your election history and find out why you have this devastating season of primaries. Frankly, I don’t see how they are more effective in selecting the final candidates who will contest the actual election, than our system where the brass of each party selects the candidate for each riding. The only selection we complicate with a long runoff is that of the party leader – and each party does it their own way. As you say, the primaries will likely serve to further polarize the country and cost billions of dollars – such a waste. But I’m no expert.

            • Well, y’see John, during the course of the two years, we’ve had a lot of storms, much rain, and the supply of mud builds up. What to do with all that mud & muck? 🤔 Well, the solution is for the candidates and the two major parties to use that mud to throw at each other! So, they spend six months, sometimes more, throwing mud until it is all gone, and then who ever has the least amount of mud on their face on November 6th gets elected! 🤸

Yes, my cynicism overfloweth today. Hugs!!!

    • Many thanks for the reblog! I keep asking how much more ridiculous this situation must get before Congress finally says “ENOUGH!” I’m afraid of the answer. Hugs, my friend … big hugs!!! ❤

      • This is so unbelievable. I can’t fathom this anymore. I’m drained!! How in heaven’s name? … is this country going to be destroyed by this idiot and his ilk? Seems like it …. arrgghh!!

        • I … wish I knew, my friend. I see a dark cloud on the horizon, and it wasn’t helped by an article I read tonight that stated just the thoughts I had been having, that there is something in the works to try to either discredit Mueller’s investigation or get it shut down. Mueller is a smart man, and I suspect he has made sure somebody reliable and trustworthy has a copy of his findings, just in case …
          Hugs, my friend! ❤

    • Apparently, from what I just read, there was much evidence that they swept under the rug, and the democrats will be issuing their own report detailing that evidence. And yes, you’re right … even IF all he was guilty of was terrible judgment, it should be enough. He is, after all, the leader of this nation and if his judgment is so poor that he allowed a foreign adversary to move in and trash our democratic process, then we certainly don’t need him making decisions that affect us all for another 3 years!
