I saw this on Twitter earlier this afternoon, and enjoyed the bit of tongue-in-cheek humour, so I thought you guys might enjoy it also! Thank you, Austin, for this post and for your generous permission to share it with my readers!
The Return of the Modern Philosopher
According to a new report, President Trump is now the leading cause of depression in Americans, Modern Philosophers
The study, released by the Department Utilizing Statistics and Tables (DUST), revealed that Trump caused depression in more Americans than the next four items on the list combined.
Here is the rest of the Top 5:
2. Finances.
3. Realizing that you are trapped in a dead end job because of your finances.
4. Listening to someone from an older generation tell stories about the good old days.
5. Watching an episode of This Is Us.
The White House has yet to release a statement about the study, but anonymous sources have revealed that President Trump was ecstatic to top the list.
He was even heard to say, “Obama was never number one on that list!”
Experts have put together a list of suggestions for coping with Trump Induced Depression (ICD-10 code…

When I find him particularly depressing, which unfortunately is often, I find something he’s done, or said, that’s ridiculously stupid! Again, that’s fairly often, but it gives me laughter at least half the time. 😂

Ah yes … but the only problem with that solution is that the laughter usually turns to tears, yes?

Sometimes, Jill and will definitely happen if he gets us into a war. In the meantime, I’ll keep the prayers up and hope this country votes in a better person in 2020. Fingers and toes crossed!

Trump would like being top of that list wouldn’t he! The man is like an amoebic toxin drizzling his contempt on the world as he slowly consumes his way to utter destruction.

I’m sure he would! And I love your way of putting it … spot on!

Dear Jill,
I know that I’ve had several down days due to this president living in the WH. When he is finally ousted from the WH, there ought to be a ‘worldwide march’ titled ‘Dancing in the Streets’ and or the “Wicked Witch is Dead.’
I, for one, can’t wait.
Hugs, Gronda

I agree with you 100%! A huge nation-wide block party!!! Only thing is that his loyal base will be out there waiting for us with their arsenals.
Hugs!

As if chronic Trumpitis is not enough to contend with, now Trumpression is added to my misery…at least I am at long last with a diagnosis! It is slightly troublesome to know that I contribute to the depression of my children and a few others by being the #4 cause. This Austin fellow is good and does look familiar, wonder what the topic was for his PhD thesis? Anyone that can lead over 18,000 followers has got to be good, I’m following now too. Thank-you for sharing!

Like you, I am certain that I contribute to the angst of my family, but … they have contributed to mine before, so I suppose it all works out in the long run. That’s funny, because I thought he looked familiar too! I stumbled across his post through my friend David’s Twitter feed and was quite impressed by the satire that just seems to flow naturally. ‘Twas my pleasure!

Very familiar, in a Back to the Future sort of way, right?

Come on up to Canada. We have our own problems up here, though Trumpmandias is still one of them, just not the top one–I’m certain he feels himself a failure for that. Still, feel welcome to join us. Just bring your long undies.

Now, I would perhaps come visit you in the spring or summertime, but frankly I would not survive in your winter climate!!! Too bloomin’ cold! Thank you, however, for the invite!

I get depressed about all of this. I feel like it’s going to go on forever and nothing will ever change and that his cult base will be there no matter what. And racism wont change, I mean it hasn’t in all the years. Religious extremism is growing, the environment is being devastated and the world is a dangerous place to be.
I wish I could get back to a normal life. I’m disappointed that I know people who support him and I just can’t understand why.
I feel tired and drained and everyday it’s some new atrocity or tweet. I just want off this train!😊

Nothing lasts forever, dear Mary. Trump will be out of office someday, although the mentality that put him there won’t go away anytime soon. We need to make certain that mentality does not gain a foothold next time, relegate them to the back row where they belong. You’re right … racism and other forms of bigotry will always be with us, but we can chase the outward expression of it back under the rocks from whence it came. I fully understand your angst, depression, exhaustion, for I go through the same. But we cannot let it overpower us, for our voices are needed to fight this fight. Hang in there, my friend. Hugs!!!

I think we all feel the same. Hang in there, dear friend! It may get worse before it gets better, and we need your voice, your energy, to fight the good fight. Hugs!!! ❤

It’s pretty bad when he can sicken people who don’t even live under his rule! But still, the entire world is affected by what he says and does, and he certainly hasn’t done any favours for any other than his bromances … Putin, Netanyahu, Erdoğan and Orbán. I think he even likes Kim and Xi better than he likes our allies. Sigh.
