An Important Message …

I came across this video created by Greenpeace a few days ago.  Greenpeace, founded in 1971, is a non-governmental environmental organization focusing on worldwide issues such as climate change, deforestation, overfishing, commercial whaling, genetic engineering, and anti-nuclear issues.  Their mission statement:

Greenpeace is a global, independent campaigning organization that uses peaceful protest and creative communication to expose global environmental problems and promote solutions that are essential to a green and peaceful future.

The video contains probably some of the worst singing you will hear this week, but the message is important, the message is one that needs to be remembered and shared.  Our lives, the lives of our children and their children are at stake here, and every person on this planet has the ability to make a difference.

  1. One of the most loathesome new era phrases that I hear on an almost daily basis in the last ten years is “What’re you gonna’ do?” This, accompanied by an ‘I don’t care enough to try shrug’ nearly inhinges me. I want to scream at whoever it is, “Something! I’m going to do SOME thing because I can.” The second worse phrase to me? “It is what it is.”(and I don’t care enough to try to change it) Not me. I was not put here to settle, to turn my eyes from horror or to accept what is not good for humanity and life on this Earth. Not me. Thanks Jill. As always. Hugs.

    • OH I am so with you on both of those phrases!!! I interpret them exactly as you … that the person doesn’t care enough to be bothered. That’s part of the reason we are in the situation we are in … too many are lazy and selfish. Sigh.

  2. I recently read of two things that are good ways to help the environment. One is to cut back on meat. Just eating less meat will reduce the environmental impact of livestock and what it takes to grow them. The other was to provide medical services to poor people in Brazil to not cut down the forest and to plant more trees. It worked. However the program is jeopardy under the new president. Hugs

    • Colette and Sha’Tara have often enough preached about eating less meat, and it is likely something we should all consider. Not only would we be helping save the planet in a small way, but likely helping our bodies to be healthier in a major way.

I have grave concerns about Brazil’s new president, Bolsonaro, for he has expressed little or no concern over the country’s rain forests, which are integral to the survival of the planet. Let’s put him and Trump both on China’s next flight to the dark side of the moon, since they don’t appreciate life here on earth!

      Hugs!

  3. Fantastic message from Mr Obama (I won’t mention the singing voices) being overturned by the Moron in the White House who will always put profit first. We need this for our children and our children’s children, and generations to come. There will come a time when the name Trump is a pariah throughout the world for what is happening in the US. He and what’s left of his family will have to live inside a bubble along with the other parasites who wanted the fossil fuel profits above all else.

    • Obama’s concern for the planet and respect for the science of climate change was 180 degrees apart from Trump’s, and frankly I am appalled that there are so many citizens in the U.S. who are more concerned with lining their pockets than preserving the earth for future generations. Greed seems to be the leading cause of stupidity, at least in the U.S.
