Seth Meyers and Papa Duck

Seth Meyers is is an American comedian, writer, actor, and television host. He hosts Late Night with Seth Meyers, a late-night talk show that airs on NBC. Prior to that, he was a head writer for NBC’s Saturday Night Live (2001–2014) and hosted the show’s news parody segment, Weekend Update.  Like John Oliver, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel and others, he helps us find comic relief in the day-to-day dramas that inhabit the current administration in our federal government (ie., the government led by he-who-shall-remain-nameless-for-today).

This clip is more than a week old, from February 7th, but is still funny, still relevant, and well worth the eleven minutes it takes to watch the whole thing.  If you are like me, you really, really need a good reason to chuckle, so … give it a watch, okay?  The bonus is really the part toward the end, where Papa Duck (Phil Robertson) of Duck Dynasty was interviewed on Fox regarding his views on healthcare!

  1. THANKS, JILL I REALLY NEEDED THIS. OF COURSE I COULD USE MORE AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE — MAYBE I SHOULD SAY A FACILITY WHERE SOMEONE IN THE RADIATION DEPT ACTUALLY KNEW HOW TO READ THE X-RAYS THEY TAKE. WHAT WAS THE SUBJECT AGAIN?
SERIOUSLY, THIS IS THE FUNNIEST CLIP I’VE WATCHED IN A LONG TIME AND I LAUGHED SO HARD SOMETHING JUST MIGHT HAVE A RIP IN IT. I THINK I’M GONNA GO CHECK IT OUT NOW!

    • I’m so glad it gave you a laugh, for I know you could use one! Hey, perhaps you should write to Papa Duck and ask him to help you with health care, since he is such a wizard!!! 🤣 I do hope you haven’t damaged something while laughing … it wasn’t my intent to cause injury! Hugs!!! ❤

  2. Hello Jill. Makes you wonder at the Fox viewers who accept all this … stuff. Really even the hosts know it is crap, but Fox continues to be the most watched cable network, even as their population is dying off. I really worry about some of the people in this country. Hugs

    • Yes, you could tell the hosts weren’t buying into Papa Duck’s b.s. I think the way to look at it is that Fox is the only network that puts forth such an ultra-conservative view, whereas for a balanced viewpoint there are a large number of networks, such as CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. So, if you pit Fox against the combined viewers of those, Fox falls far behind. The majority of people in this country don’t watch Fox, but the scary thing is that those who do watch it actually buy into their fairy tales.
      Hugs!!!

      • I have to disagree with CNN. It used to be the case CNN was straightforward and unbiased; unfortunately, It no longer is. It has tipped almost (though has no chance of catching up) as far left as FOX has moved right. Stick to the big three and don’t forget PBS News Hour for less summary than networks and more in depth respectful discussion.

Seth’s take on these less than stellar acts from the circus is on the nose. What is it with FOX and crazy? They mesh so very well together.

        • Actually, I don’t see CNN as any more biased than the big three, but I don’t get my news from any of them. I have found that international or foreign sources provide the most relevant and broad view of our own news. My best sources are typically The Guardian, BBC, Reuters, der Spiegel, and among U.S. sources, The Washington Post, New York Times, and Politico.

I do enjoy Seth Meyers, as well as John Oliver and Stephen Colbert. There’s another who I just discovered recently, but at the moment my memory bank refuses to pull up his name! Old age … somedays I think I’m lucky to remember my name!
