She … She Said WHAT???

Ms. Sarah Huckabee Sanders sold whatever soul or conscience she once may have had long ago, perhaps on May 5, 2017 when she held her first White House press briefing, standing in for then-Press Secretary Sean Spicer.  Mr. Spicer ultimately had the good sense to realize that he would not be able to sleep at nights if he continued telling the outrageous lies demanded by Trump, for he was possessed of a conscience.

Sarah-cartoon-2I largely ignore Ms. Sanders, for she is naught but a mouthpiece, says what she is told to say, and I cannot stand to look at her facial contortions nor hear her whiny voice.  However, this past weekend she was on a tear, and dear friend Ellen fed me just enough tidbits to pique my curiosity, so I had to go see for myself.  Sigh.  Where is that blood pressure medicine???

How doth she offend me?  Let me count the ways …

During an interview with Chris Wallace on Fox ‘News’ Sunday

Sarah-Sanders-Chris-Wallace“I don’t think Congress — particularly not this group of congressmen and women — are smart enough to look through the thousands of pages that I would assume that President Trump’s taxes will be.  My guess is that most of them don’t do their own taxes, and I certainly don’t trust them to look through the decades of success that the president has and determine anything.”

Grrrrrr.  Any single member of Congress is more qualified to review those taxes than Ms. Sanders, and we don’t need ‘thousands of pages’.  We’re only asking for six lousy years’ worth!  And Sarah … “success”???  The ‘man’ with more than 5,000 lawsuits in his career?  Think about that one, sweet cheeks.

“[Trump] is a person and a president of law and order. That’s his entire focus since coming in is actually restoring law and order to this country. … The president has asked them to do everything they can and everything they’re allowed to do under the law to stop the massive crisis we have at our southern border. It’s the same thing he says publicly day in and day out.”

Grrrrrrrrrr.  Law and order???  Did she really say ‘law and order’?  Trump believes himself and his minions to be above the law.  He incites violence, defends lawless organizations such as white supremacists and neo-Nazis, and she says he’s about law and order?  There was no crisis at the southern border until Trump fabricated one, then started stealing children from their parents and tossing them into cages, not even bothering to keep track of where they were!  Just last week Trump privately urged acting Secretary of Homeland Security, Kevin McAleenan, to close the border and told him that he would issue a pardon if McAleenan ran into any legal troubles for doing so.  How is this ‘law and order’???Sarah-cartoonOn This Week with George Stephanopoulos …

Regarding Trump’s ignominious, hateful tweet about Representative Ilhan Omar:

“It’s absolutely abhorrent the comments she continues to make and has made and Democrats look the other way. I find what her comments to be absolutely disgraceful and unbefitting of a member of Congress and I think that it’s a good thing that the president is calling her out for those comments, and the big question is why aren’t Democrats doing it as well.”

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.  If you could be bothered, Ms. Sanders, to read the entirety of Representative Omar’s CAIR speech, perhaps you could better understand that the single sentence your boss chose to focus on was taken completely out of context and that there was not a damn thing wrong with what she said!  She did something you never do … she told the truth!  Your boss put her life in danger, with a childish, juvenile act more befitting a 9-year-old than a 72-year-old who happens to be, for better or for worse, the leader of a nation.

Sarah-Sanders-3I’m certain that if I wished to dig deeper, I could find even more, but already I had to take a break from writing this post to de-stress by washing a sink full of dishes … don’t worry, I only broke a couple.  The job of a White House press secretary is to serve as a liaison between the president and the press.  Ms. Sanders is, rather, a puppet … a mouthpiece, who is so pre-programmed that when she is asked a question, the best she can do is condemn the reporter who asked it.  I suppose that if one lacks intelligence, the best defense is a good offense, and Ms. Sanders has that one down pat – she is very offensive.

  1. Dear Jill,

When Ms. Huckabee Sanders said Congress lawmakers were not capable of reviewing his tax records, she did not know that there is a freshman Rep. Katie Porter, a Harvard Law graduate who literally wrote the Tax Law Textbook. She has gone on the record stating that she’s more than capable of doing the honors.

There has been no president who has done more in attacking the ‘rule of law’ than President Trump. Even President Nixon was no match for this guy.

As for Rep. Ilhan, the Democratic Party has to step up their game to protect her. President Trump is planning to use her as a pinata as he rails against Muslim immigrants in order to pander to his base, those Evangelicals and to win a second term as US president. This is evil.

Oh yes, Ms. Sanders is one of those Evangelicals who believes God sent President Trump to champion their causes where it’s her job to protect him.

    Hugs, Gronda

    • True, and I also read yesterday that there are at least 10 accountants in the House of Representatives, so there is no lack of understanding of tax forms!

Quite right … Trump is, or at least considers himself to be, above the law. The frightening part of this is that he has surrounded himself with people who will agree with him, and is appointing judges who are likely to pander to his whims.

I hope to live long enough to see this whole bunch run out of Washington, including the ignoble Ms. Sanders!

  2. Dear Jill, more power to you! Any news about Trump and Co. gives me a splitting headache, I simply choose to tune out the orange baboon… no offense to our more intelligent & kinder primate baboons.
While it is important to be aware of certain events which impact our civil liberties and democracy, reporting on the inane babblings of our so-called President/ & his respective PR mouthpiece is counter productive.
    Like the old adage goes:
“Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty and the pig likes it.” 😀

  3. Let’s modify that last comment you referenced just a wee bit …

ORIGINAL: “It’s absolutely abhorrent the comments she continues to make and has made and Democrats look the other way. I find what her comments to be absolutely disgraceful and unbefitting of a member of Congress and I think that it’s a good thing that the president is calling her out for those comments, and the big question is why aren’t Democrats doing it as well.”

MODIFICATION: “It’s absolutely abhorrent the comments HE continues to make and has made and REPUBLICANS look the other way. I find that HIS comments to be absolutely disgraceful and unbefitting of a PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES and I think that it’s a good thing that the DEMOCRATS (are) calling HIM out for those comments, and the big question is why aren’t REPUBLICANS doing it as well.”

  4. Sarah Huckabee Sanders sure knows how to pander, paid to stump and lie for Trump, doing the reprehensible defending the indefensible! Dear girl, I was not suggesting that you dedicate a whole post to the woman…simply read and slightly seethe, perhaps adding a wee comment on a comment and so on! She is indeed offensive, but at times I find it laughable that she is able to stand in front of cameras and spew these lies all the while knowing that many of them are easily proved as such and also knowing that the lies more describe Trump than the target of them. That was a sentence that defies the rules of structure! Yet while those of us in the anti-Trump camp find her intolerable the Trump supporters are cheering, applauding and gobbling up her every word. I apologize for inducing you to raise your blood pressure, the trap was set by myself and you took the bait…shame on me! However, I did enjoy your post immensely and you deserve a glass of the finest wine, oh heck…take the whole bottle! Thank-you!

    • Well, I didn’t start out intending to do a whole post about her, but was going to use some of her comments as a single snippet in a ‘snarky snippets’ post, but by the time I finished, I had over 800 words, and since 800-1200 is my self-imposed upper limit, it turned out that she was the whole post. I meant to send it to her via Twitter … I should do that tonight! Thanks for the 🍾 🍷 … care to join me?

      • Two disappointments in one day!?! Okay, it’s already a different day…but still they fall within 24 hours of each other. First, no Selena tribute (see comment on comment on comment in music post) and second, you fail to notice my poem (the very first line), one of my best I might add in all humility! Beware, the B-witch is back!! Okay, one wee glass of wine might tame her…but then…

        • Now dear Ellen, I did NOT fail to notice your delightful poem, I simply failed to comment on it. I did notice it, thought how very clever, but then forgot to mention it. After midnight, my brain goes home, and I am left to manage on my own. And, I have redeemed myself on the Selena tribute, I hope. Now cheer up … and next time you talk to the young lad whose absence is the cause of your b-witchiness, please tell him that Miss Jill misses him!

  5. Just hope you didn’t throw any dishes through your television screen or computer monitor when her face was on them. As easy and as joyful as that would have felt, the consequences would be longer lasting than the momentary joy of the action.
Quietly turn off the machines, go back to not watching her, and ignore her insanities. Wait till it is her boss’s face on the screen before you throw anything. That will be much more satisfying…

    • Nope, I know I can’t afford to replace either the tv or the computer, so I treat them, especially my laptop, with kid gloves, though I have been known to threaten them. 😉 And in truth, I didn’t break any dishes … this time. I did throw a plastic bowl a few weeks ago, and it broke. It was Miss Goose’s bowl and she was none too happy, so I’ve tried to be more mature since then. 😀

  6. Jill, in short, we must start from the position that a spin doctor is in essence paid to make things sound better. They are paid to perfume pigs of stories. It would be far more preferable for the PR person to shoot straight. Sanders’ work is cut out for her as her boss is far more untruthful than he is not. Much of it is planned, but much of it is due to his not knowing the difference between truth and lies, a problem that narcissists have.

So, my strong advice is don’t watch someone you know is lying more than they don’t. It is easier with the President, as he says something that is untrue or taken out of context, then repeats himself three, four or more times in a paragraph.

    • I generally don’t watch Sarah, but when I heard she said our Congress was too stupid to understand Trump’s taxes … well, you know that one went straight through me and raised my hackles. Sigh. I wonder how she gets to sleep at night?

  7. I can’t even stand to look at her. She represents hypocrisy at its upper limits. Her heart is full of hate and lies and she is definitely not a nice person in any way.

    • I agree! When Ellen first mentioned her Sunday morning talk show round and told me I should check it out, I resisted because, as I told her, I cannot stand to look at Ms. Sanders or hear her whiny voice. But, Ellen knows me well and knew that if she tossed me enough tidbits of information I wouldn’t be able to resist. 😉
