Jolly Monday — Slightly Short

jollyGood morning friends!  I’m so happy to see you, for Jolly and I have missed you!  I must admit that I am fairly exhausted this morning and have struggled to even pull together this pathetically small Jolly Monday post.  In fact, I considered saying “to heck with it” and going to bed, but … Jolly reminded me that you guys count on our humour to get your week started.  So, it may not be much, but hopefully you will find something to bring about a smile this Monday morn … grab a snack and a the beverage of your choice …

What would you do if you were craving tacos, went to your local Taco Bell, only to find that they had run out of taco shells?  Personally, I would then head to the grocery, pick up a pack of taco shells, go home and make my own.  It takes 15 minutes and it ain’t rocket science.  But a patron in Slidell, Louisiana, had other ideas.  He … or she … called 9-1-1!!!Taco-Bell-Slidell-policeNo word as to whether the caller was cited or not, but I certainly hope so.  And perhaps Taco Bell should have been cited, too … I mean, that’s like Ben & Jerry’s running out of ice cream!  It’s like Burger King running out of ground beef!  It’s like … it’s like Starbucks running out of coffee!

Ben Burville said he was deep sea diving off the coast of Northumberland, England, when a curious grey seal took an interest in first his face mask, then when he couldn’t get that off, his headwear.  Ben sat mostly still, letting the seal give it his best shot, and eventually the seal lost interest and left.

  1. Good day my dears and thanks to Jill to cheer us up. 😁 We’ve learned last week on BBC breakfast that many a Brit has taken away with ye olde tradition of making a good cup of tea for the benefit of any available food ordering app on their phone. Yes, true, they order toast and cups of tea from the likes of deliveroo (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/food/article-7108599/How-lazy-toast-fish-fingers-tea-delivered-door.html)
And I seem to remember that KFC ran out of chicken and they called the police here too wtf? (Sorry for my language.)
🤪 On a more serious note 😁 I must follow those design guys on Instagram. Have a great week all you lovely people… where do you all come from 😜

    • Hey Bee! 🙋 I’m glad that Jolly Monday cheered you, and thank you for noticing that I had taken more care than usual with the tea! Actually, though, the credit for that goes to rawgod who gave me some pointers on making a proper cuppa! See, I am not at all a tea drinker, much preferring either coffee or wine, so I was just popping a pod of Twinings English Breakfast into the ol’ Keurig maker and popping out a cuppa tea. I now know the error of my ways, and will try to remember how to brew it properly, though some Monday mornings I’m just too rushed! Deliveroo … ours is called “Door Dash”, though I’ve never tried it. We occasionally order pizza from the local pizzeria, but otherwise, I do that ol’ fashioned thing called “cooking”. 😉 Have a great week, my friend!

  2. The animal video was brilliant … lots of oo-ing and ah-ing from me and when the whistling started, my own dogs sat up, cocking their heads, wondering where it was coming from. 😂. The seal in the first video was good too. They’re such confident, playful and friendly creatures. Thank you for these Monday smiles. You have a great week too. ☺

  3. Wow, this is a perky start to the week. I love the bookcase under the stairs. I have nowhere to keep books, so I had to get rid of all of mine. Life without books is just not life is it?

I love the slide next to the staircase too (no doubt for the kids, but I would be tempted to use it too)!

Poor Diver… Seal looked like it fancied a few brains… Probably thought he was an unsually large penguin.

Those kids recipe’s… So hilarious 🤣🤣🤣

    • I have long since run out of shelf space for my books, and they reside in stacks all over the house! I keep saying I’ll build more shelves soon, but when I saw this staircase I fell in love with it! Sadly, I cannot turn my staircase into that, for there is a wall on both sides of it, and since we rent, the landlords might not appreciate such a major structural change 😉

Glad you enjoyed Jolly Monday … and that it brought you a bit of cheer! Have a great week!

  4. A pot of tea, Jill? I am quite impressed. You took my lesson to heart. But I am going to let it steep a bit more…
I hope the watermelon recipe is not seedless. They taste so bland. Seeded watermelon, with just a shake of salt–yummy!
