I missed Saturday Surprise last week, partly because I didn’t realize it was Saturday until it already was, and it was too late to pull together a post, and partly because a ‘thing’ happened that interfered with my good humour. So, I made a ‘note to self’ to be sure to try to make this Saturday’s Surprise extra special. Now, you know that in my lingo, “extra special” is going to involve some critters, right?
Wee ones …
I happened upon some pictures from a photography contest called #Small2019. Take a look at a few of the ones I found most fascinating …

Now where is that darned …
Saurabh Desai is a wildlife photographer. Desai recently posted a photo he had taken in the Spiti Valley of Northern India that’s left internet users scratching their heads. At a glance, it appears to be a simple landscape shot of a snow-covered crag — but there’s more to the image than first meets the eye.
Turns out, Desai was actually there photographing a snow leopard, an elusive big cat native to the region, whose perfectly camouflaged coat makes him blend into his landscape to a breathtaking degree.
Can you find him?

I’ll show you where he is …
Hmmmm … maybe not. Heh heh … I’ll show you at the end of this post, fair ‘nuff?
Lucas …
I found the cutest little guy quite by accident a few days ago, and I saved him to show you. His name is Lucas and he’s a spider … but don’t worry … I think even those who suffer arachnophobia will fall in love with Lucas!
Budi …
And lastly, what would life be without a cute animal video? This one is about a baby orangutan named Budi who was rescued after spending his first year locked up in a chicken cage because someone wanted to keep him as a pet. In this video, he’s learning how to be wild!
As promised, here is the great reveal of the location of the snow leopard … did you find it?

And now, let’s all go find ways to relax and enjoy our weekend, for Monday will return before you know it! Have a terrific weekend, my friends!

Namaste, Miss Jill! It’s me, Benjamin! This is the bestest ever, the pictures are awesome! Guess what? I found the snow leopard all by myself! You know why? Cause I know what they look like and I found his face right away. That’s good, right? Lucas the Spider is so cute, I watch him lots of times! I love the other video too. You get two thumbs up and 1000 Gold Stars and a bunch of neckbuster hugs and a zillion kisses too! Thank you and Bye!

Namaste, Benjamin!!! I am so happy that you liked the pictures! I knew that if anybody could find the snow leopard, it would be you! Great job, my friend! I couldn’t find him until I saw the picture with the big red circle. Gem told me that you already knew about Lucas … I just saw him for the first time over the weekend, but I love him! Thank you, dear Benjamin, for the thumbs up and gold stars, but especially for the neckbuster hugs and kisses!!! I love you!

I did spot the snow leopard Jill, but I am fairly good with patterns. They are quite rare animals. I think they are beautiful.
All the photography is stunning. While I couldn’t afford the data for the videos, it was a lovely post. I needed a bit of gentle nature this morning. 😊❤️

I knew that you would find the snow leopard! I think I posted something similar once before and you found it right off! I’m glad the pictures brought you pleasure, and sorry you couldn’t see the polar bear video, for it would have made you laugh! I actually laughed out loud on Sunday night while watching the polar bears frolic and I had thought there was no laughter left in me. Hugs, my friend! 🤗

I’ve seen the glass winged butterfly while in Costa Rica. Such a magical thing! 😊

I was amazed … never saw one before! So much beauty in nature … I think I would like to move to the middle of a forest now!

Did the frog turn into a Prince after the snail kissed it? If not, I guess the snail will just have to keep on kissing frogs until the right one comes along.

I hear the snail is pretty fickle, a tease, and she goes around kissing all the frogs, and a few chameleons as well. 😉

This is a Benjamin post and he will be ecstatic on Monday. I will not mention last Saturday. Oops!! I had to laugh at the Desai photograph. If one does not know what a Snow Leopard looks like, one could be searching in all the wrong places. Joshua Slice is an animator of some renown and the creator of Lucas the Spider…of the same name and voiced by his nephew! Benjamin has been a fan and follower since 2018. According to him and much to his delight, it is going to become a TV series too. #Small2019, total WOW! Thank-YOU! P.S. I expect some neckbuster hugs will be coming your way!

I’m going to be eagerly looking forward to Monday now, for my neckbuster hugs!!! Lucas the Spider was new to me … I think I first saw this one on Facebook … but I thought of Benjamin the minute I saw it and knew I had to include it in this post! A t.v. series, eh? That should be fun, though I’m not sure 30 minutes of Lucas at a time would hold my attention. Oh … and thanks for not mentioning last Saturday … 😏 I didn’t find the snow leopard on my own, but had to look for the one where he had circled it. But then, I was looking in the snowy areas, expecting it to blend in with the snow. 😉 Have a great weekend, Ellen!

Agreed! Amazing what some people can do with a camera! My pictures always look like maybe a 2-year-old snapped them.

Different, very different. Exquisite photographs but I’m afraid my favourite is still of the two twee little ‘meeces’.in Roommates.

Yeah, those meeces brought a smile to my face, too. Did you watch the Lucas video?

It’s good to be reminded that there is beauty all around us, and I thank you — but I couldn’t see the snow leopard even after you circled him/her!! ….(well, sort of….)

Yes, it is … I always love nature pics, especially if a cute critter is involved. I had trouble seeing the snow leopard at first, but once I looked closer I could see his face. Pretty sure it’s a “him”. 😉
