Good morning, friends! It’s Monday again … yay. Oh, no, of course I’m happy to see you! This is often the highlight of my week … I’m just not quite ready to face another week just yet … I was enjoying the more laid-back-ed-ness of the weekend. But, a new week it is, and that means we need to kick it off with some fun and funnies, right? … … What’s that noise??? JOE … wake up … you’re snoring!!! Go grab a cuppa coffee, for Pete’s sake!
So, how was your weekend? Mine was quiet with a capital Q! Daughter Chris had four separate band performances on Saturday and two on Sunday, so she was largely either gone, or napping on the sofa, for she was marching outdoors in a wool kilt, wool socks, and the temps were in the 90s! Needless to say, she was t-i-r-e-d! So, Miss Goose and I did our own thing and few words were spoken, except for Saturday evening when we collaborated on a Chinese supper … she made the Chow Mein, I made the cream-cheese Rangoon, and we had Pandora frozen Eggrolls. It was both fun and tasty!
Well, I know you all have places to go, people to see, and all that, so let’s get this show on the road and find some fun stuff to start the week off right. Snacks over on the table … help yourself!

Larry’s celery
Roomba with a ‘tude …
You know those self-driving little disc-shaped vacuums called ‘Roomba’? I don’t have one because I can only imagine what it would do to the hearts of our poor little already traumatized fur babies. Well, back in May, a young man named Michael Reeves, a techie sort of guy, decided to have some fun and do a bit of back-door programming on a Roomba. What he did … he taught it to scream obscenities! Now, maybe I’m getting interested in a Roomba after all!
He took the modified Roomba to the Target store where he originally bought it for what he refers to as a bit of “market research” and turned it loose.

The store manager, however, failed to see the humour, and ultimately Michael concluded that the general public is not ready for his invention.
“It appears as though our invention is simply too far ahead of its time. The world isn’t ready for the Roomba that screams when it bumps into things and I’m okay with that.”
Oops!
Lindsey and Mark Lashley recently had a baby … well, Lindsey had it, Mark stood by and watched. They named the baby Cason Knox (yes, really), and Mark’s mother got down to the business of letting everybody in the family know. She must have thought the easiest way was to send a text message to everyone on her contact list, but one of those people had changed their phone number. The old number for the cousin had been re-assigned, and a stranger named Dennis Williams received the text message.
Imagine his puzzlement, but nonetheless, he and his brother, Deorick, decided to pay a hospital visit to the new parents, and they even brought gifts! This, folks, is something you don’t see everyday … just a random act of kindness that started as a wrong number!
Little things …
It’s a little thing, and some might think it’s a waste of time, or not very important, but … I think it’s a sign of hope in more ways than one.
This tortoise, dubbed Helix, was born with a congenital deformity, whereby the bottom of his shell is twisted upside down. Its front half was perfectly normal there was no deformity in his face or front legs. He was able to properly eat, and he could scoot itself around using its front legs, though at times he struggled.
Enter Randy Betz, a medical sales consultant with a side business of … helping people hatch tortoises! Who knew? Betz said Helix was in danger of being euthanized, as he was unable to walk. Betz was inspired by a mini skateboard to come up with a unique solution.
“I took some glue, some superglue, and I glued it right on the back end of it. Very heartwarming to see him as happy as he was able to move around.”
Take a look for yourself …
Lightning strikes again … and again … and again …
I found this picture over at Phil’s Phun, and I have no idea where this was or when, but isn’t this an amazing display of lightning?
Funnies …
How about a few funnies?

And, I must stop here, but one last bit of fun … I cannot conclude Jolly Monday without a cute animal video! I disappointed young Benjamin again on Saturday, and promised to make this extra special for him, so … let’s watch some baby polar bears take their first steps …
And that wraps up yet another Jolly Monday, my friends! Please … share those gorgeous smiles with everyone you see this week … we all could use a kindly smile, a touch on the shoulder, a hug. Keep safe and have a wonderful week! Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa and Jolly!

Late…
As usual.
I loved the German Shepherd and Green Eggs & Ham cartoons…..will never grow old. And as for the lightening!
And so very kind folk are out there reminding us there is hope.

Better late than never! You need a Monday morning chuckle as much as any of us. Yeah, I actually laughed at the German Shepherd one! Have a great rest-of-the-week, my friend!

Hello Jill. We were big bacon eaters and then we stopped for a while because the bacon was coming back on us. Too much fats. Then we got the idea to cook the bacon in the oven on the broiler pan. It is great. The grease falls through to the bottom pan and as Ron likes his cooked less than I do we can take out the ones he wants and then crisp the ones for me. So now we are back to full bacon eating. Hugs

I have always only cooked bacon in the oven! It gets so much crispier. Also, I cover it in fresh ground pepper before tossing it into the oven … you’d be surprised how much more flavourful it is!

Hi there. Here’s a youtube video of that roomba. I couldn’t tell with my screen reader if the video was imbedded in the graphics but usually, when it just says graphic, that means it’s just a picture so I decided to do a search for the video to break up the tedium sanity killing process of researching our next laundry pair.

Hey Scott! I did see this video, but didn’t embed it because of its length … over 10 minutes. I try to keep any videos I post under 4-5 minutes, so I decided to forego this one, but thanks for sharing!

“Namaste, Miss Jill! It’s me, Benjamin! I love the humongous sprinkled donut and the juicebox with my name! Jolly remembered Gem’s cream, that’s really good. She puts lots more in her coffee. Poor little Helix is amazin’. The wheels are a really good idea. The baby polar bears are so cute and funny. Jolly and you get two thumbs up and a million kisses and neckbuster hugs too. I have something to tell you. I’m going to kindergarten very soon cause I am big now. Bye and Thank you!

Namaste Benjamin!!! I’m so glad you liked the humongous donut … Jolly picked that out ‘specially for you! We try to remember Gem’s cream, but I do sometimes forget, because I don’t put cream in my coffee. I knew you’d like Helix and the little wheels. I sometimes hike with my friend Herb, and he gave me a special trail name … Tortuga. Tortuga is Spanish for ‘turtle’, so I’m kind of a turtle too! He gave me that name because I am a very slow hiker! 😉 I’m also glad you loved the polar bears … they are so much fun to watch, aren’t they? Wow! Kindergarten already? You are such a big boy now! And, you are such a smart and kind boy! I hope you really enjoy kindergarten, and I know you will learn a lot there! I hope you will write and tell me all about it soon! Jolly and I thank you for the neckbuster hugs, kisses, and thumbs up! Have a fun week …love and lots of hugs back to you!!! ❤

Jill, I love Dennis and Doerick calling on the Lashley’s in the hospital to welcome their new born. I can understand how that could happen – now who is she related to they pondered? Keith

Heh heh … yes, I can picture their confusion, too! Occasionally I get a text that was meant for somebody else. But, I remember long ago, back in the day before cell phones when we had hard-wired land lines … one morning the phone rang, and when I answered, a woman said, “Hi … how are you doing?” The voice sounded friendly, and vaguely familiar, but with my hearing it’s hard to say, so I answered her and we started chatting about this ‘n that. After just a couple of minutes, she said, “You been working in your garden today?” That’s when I KNEW she didn’t have the right number, for I have a black thumb and do not garden! We both had a laugh over it, and she ended saying, “Well, I’ve enjoyed talking to you anyway … have a nice day!” I still smile when I think of that!

But, Jill, what are all the mouse-turds around the coffee and tea cups?
And what name did you decide on for Jolly’s newest helper? Did I miss it somewhere? Pinswirl, where are you?

Those are coffee beans, silly! OOPS!!!! It completely slipped my mind! As did a link I intended to include on Jolly Monday! Aaaarrrggghhh! Stay tuned … I’ll figure this out … I remember my name … I must go cook some boats now … back soon …

Looking at the coffee cup, coffee beans made sense. Looking at the tea cup, I figured they could only be mouse turds.

Could be … perhaps they were expressing their opinion of tea! But, keep in mind that no mouse would survive in this, the house of the Feral Five!

Obviously they would have had to be “imported.” American mouse turds would have been too common. ROTF

I checked on Amazon … no mouse turds for sale there! 🤣

I’m sure he would get the joke, but I doubt that he saw it, for it wasn’t directly on his own comment. I’ll tell him about it …

I think it is reverse psychology to help prepare Daddy for his job of changing diapers. After all, he has to pay for his part somehow.
LikeLiked by 2 people
Good point!!! Some daddies these days will do that … my late-ex never would.

I probably did 99% of the diapering and our kids were in cloth. They are 18 months apart so talk about doing a lot of laundry. No diaper service for us. lol.

Your wife is truly blessed to have you for a husband!!! My two oldest were 16 months apart, so I had two in diapers at the same time for a couple of months. Donnie, the late-ex, was nowhere to be found at diaper changing time!

I had that thought when I was responding … I didn’t know you back in your younger days, so I really couldn’t say, but the Jerry I know now would make an awesome dad. Gail might not be too keen on the idea, though. 😉

No possibilities there. A childhood disease took away that option.

Fun stuff! By the way, why do couples nowadays say “We’re having a baby” when we all know the mother is doing all the work! Have a great week.
LikeLiked by 2 people
I think it’s because they both contributed to the creation of the baby, though the mother is the only one who is actually “having” the baby. Glad you enjoyed Jolly Monday … have a great week, dear friend!

Bacon is the only pork I eat, but I admit that most things are tastier with a few bacon bits and scallions sprinkled atop … and a dash of sea salt. 😉

I like them with melted cheddar or Cheez Whiz if the cheddar is gone.

I have false teeth. Bacon bits, though tasting great, would torture me. Be thankful you can eat them.

I would somehow consume bacon even if I had to inhale it😁

I still eat it, just not in bits. And it still irritates my gums, just not as much at one time.
Meanwhile, inhaling bacon as it fries in the pan is glorious, isn’t it!

Oh, please don’t inhale it … I think it would not sit well in your lungs! Just munch on it and swallow it in the normal way. 😉

Hmph. I figured your arteries would appreciate a bacon-free day, hence the celery. Little did I know you would turn a healthy snack into an unhealthy one! Enjoy your celery with cream cheese and bacon bits … I’d add some fresh ground black pepper and maybe a few chopped scallions! Have a happy week, my friend!
