Two Mini-Rants …

As best I can figure, the only thing Donald Trump did yesterday was stir the pot on Twitter.  He surely must have blisters on his thumbs by now.  Does he ever actually work?  He was on his very worst behaviour today.  Early on, I began comparing his presidency to a train headed at full-speed toward a big cliff.  Today, that cliff seems to be looming just over the horizon.  I don’t know how one ‘man’ can get so many things so wrong in the course of a 24-hour period! train-cliff

trump babyThe child got his tender little feelings hurt when he asked a dumb question and was put in his place by the adult in the room.  The baby is now pouting and hurling objects at the adult in the room.  Typical?  Sure, in a household with a two-year-old child, but not in the Oval Office.

When Trump floated the idea of buying Greenland, even his own staff was confused.  One doesn’t, after all, just get up one morning and decide to buy another, autonomous country.  But, he persisted, and eventually the word got out and was published by the Wall Street Journal.  And then, inevitably, Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen got wind of it, and replied to the press …

“Greenland is not for sale. Greenland is not Danish. Greenland is Greenlandic. I persistently hope that this is not something that is seriously meant. Thankfully, the time where you buy and sell other countries and populations is over. Let’s leave it there. Jokes aside, we will of course love to have an even closer strategic relationship with the United States.”

Trump got a bee up his {ahem} and decided, based on PM Frederiksen’s response, to cancel a trip that was planned for September 2nd – 3rd, the invitation to visit having been issued by Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II.

PM Frederiksen was wise when she said, “Let’s leave it there”, however Trump is not used to being told “No” and handled the incident so poorly that it is likely to create ill-will between the two nations.

Headlines in Denmark read …

  • “The U.S. and Denmark’s relationship has never been this ice-cold. It will have wide-ranging consequences.”
  • “Trump sends Denmark and the U.S.’s relationship to the freezing point.”

Way to go, Donnie … you just drove a wedge between us and yet another ally. How many is that now?  I’ve lost track.

Wayne Allen Root … the name rings a bell … let me check my archives … AHA!  There it is … I knew he sounded familiar, and no big surprise that he was awarded Idiot of the Week in May, 2017.  You notice how the idiots keep popping back up?  A bit of background …

root-bookRoot is a conspiracy theorist and was on the hate bandwagon when Barack Obama was our President.  He claimed that Obama lied about attending Columbia University, then turned around and said that Obama did, in fact, attend, but that he did so as a foreign exchange student.  He claimed that Obama “cut his afro” in order to infiltrate the political class and become a “Manchurian candidate” meant to take down America from within.  He claimed to have diagnosed Obama as an “arrogant, egomaniacal sociopath” who is either “mentally ill” or committing treason and must be removed from office “before he kills us all” with Ebola-ridden terrorists.

Well, you can read the rest of the idiocy that won him the award, for today there is more!  Mr. Root hosts some ‘call-in’ show on Newsmax TV, and yesterday, his idiocy kicked into full gear, and he said the following on his show …

root-5“I happen to be Jewish by birth and 75% of all Jews vote Democrat, and they don’t like Trump. This is the greatest president for Jews and for Israel in the history of the world. Not just in America, Trump is the best president for Israel in the history of the world. And the Jewish people love him like he is the King of Israel. They love him like he is the second coming of God.

In America, American Jews don’t like him. They don’t even know what they’re doing or saying anymore. It makes no sense. But that’s okay. He keeps doing what he’s doing. He’s good for all of us. Good for Jews, good for blacks, good for gays.

He is good for everyone in America who wants a job.”

What. A. Fool.  Trump, predictably, ate it up and tweeted Root’s words on Twitter.  But that wasn’t even enough for Trump.  Noooooo … he had to go on and make the most inflammatory comment that has everyone, Jew and non-Jew (except, of course, his blind followers) up in arms.

“If you vote for a Democrat, you’re being disloyal to Jewish people and you’re being very disloyal to Israel.”

Ladies and gentlemen … the United States of America has at the head of its government a madman.  He lacks every single qualification that is needed to lead the nation:  intelligence, common sense, compassion, humanitarianism, integrity, honesty, the ability to compromise when necessary, the ability to speak properly, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and the list goes on.

I hereby invite any republican to respectfully tell me what, exactly, they see of value in Donald Trump.  Please be specific … don’t say “he tells it like it is”, “he’s making America great again”, or “he’s one of us”.  Those don’t tell me a thing.  Give me specifics, positive things you believe he has done.  The door is open … feel free to walk through it …

And now, I shall go take a handful of aspirin 💊, pour a glass of sherry 🍷, and seek solace in a bit of music ♫ before going to bed.  Goodnight all.

  1. I wish your rants were not true! But I agree that our president is ruining America. I don’t think he is sane and
    I ardently hope he will lose the upcoming election.

    • I share your wish that my rants weren’t true … actually, I long for the day when there is nothing to rant about, but I’m convinced that day will never dome. No, he isn’t sane … he is maniacal, but as long as he promises to end Roe v Wade, to keep America white/Christian, his supporters will keep wearing their ugly red maga hats and cheering him on. Like you, I sincerely hope the people of this country wake up before November 2020 and realize what he’s doing, and vote him OUT!

    Trump can only be described in one word. ‘Antichrist!’
    While I am not religious, that one word should set fear and loathing in every America’s heart. The amorality in Whitehouse is churning up American values, faster than a farmer can plough his field. Reap what is sown, and there will be little left that resembles the ‘great and the good!’

    • Heh heh … when the title of my post includes either “snarky” or “rant”, you can be pretty sure you won’t find any humanity there. There is already little left that resembles either great or good … this is a nation eating itself from within, and we will all come to an ugly end, I fear.

The Pied Piper of Pennsylvania Avenue is leading his rats on a merry trail through the swamp encompassing Washington D.C., whilst his mind dwells on such things as trading Puerto Rico for Greenland. What continues to astound me is that they continue to follow and support this moronic excuse for a leader. Wayne Allen Root is a root that needs to be pulled up and tossed away.     • What an apt and fitting name for him! I have long pondered why his followers are blind and deaf, and while I think there is no simple answer, I believe that a large part of it is bigotry in multiple forms. Misogyny … they want Roe v Wade overturned. Homophobia … they want to have the freedom to discriminate against and denigrate the LGBT community. Islamophobia … the want Muslims banned from the country. Racism/white supremacy … they want to make this an all-white, “Christian” nation. Sigh. I don’t know how we overcome such bigotry, but we must find a way. Absolutely I am sharing … we shall have one together and have a nice, long chat … 🍷🍷 … maybe even a second … 🍷🍷

  5. The sad part of it is, Trump actually considers Tweeting to be his “presidential” duty to enlighten the masses, lmao! The douche really believes shaping public opinion thru social media is the what the highest office of the land is about *facepalm*
    Jill, I’m genuinely curious if any rational conservative would take you up on ur offer. If any Trump supporter says “winning” one more time, I’m gonna puke! 😡

    Please re-read Root’s triatribe on Obama, but switch Obama to Trump. The man predicted exactly what kind of person was going to replace Obama, to a Tee. Tee for Trump.

    American Jews are supposed to be loyal to Isreal before being loyal to America? He is the CHOSEN ONE? Who does he think he is trying to kid? Let him go be Prime Minister of Isreal if he wants to pretend to be their Dancing Jewish Turd, he isn’t much different from Netanyahoo.

    • I had the exact same thought when I went back and looked at my 2017 post about Mr. Root … I read those words and thought, “That’s not Obama, but it is the exact definition of the bastard in the Oval Office today!” The only good thing about his behaviour yesterday, the “chosen one” comment, and all his ignominious tweets, is that his approval rating dropped .4% from yesterday to today. I think what did it was when he said that if Jews voted for a democrat they were treasonous. Perhaps if given enough rope, he will hang himself? Good one … Dancing Jewish Turd!

  10. I just hope he’s digging himself in so deep that he “chooses” not to run in 2020 because he knows he will lose. He’s refuses to lose and could be driven by his ego. It’s a long shot but so was him getting elected. I can dream, can’t I?

    • Sadly, my own opinion is that he will do anything … literally ANYTHING … to remain in office, rather than give up. Some think he might claim medical reasons and drop out of the race, but I have my doubts. I am envisioning the possibility of him setting some crisis in motion that would give him an excuse to declare a state of emergency, and “postpone” the election. I hope I’m wrong. Yes, indeed, dream on! I try to do so also!

      • Jill, I put my comment here as I agree he will do anything to not leave. He will have to be dragged out of the White House. If he loses, he will cry foul. His followers claim how tough he is, but I see what he has always been – unaccountable. He will not admit he was wrong and will blame everyone but himself when things go south. Of course, he is quick to take credit when tbings go right, even when he has nothing to do with it. That is not leadership or adult-like. Keith

        • No, Keith, it is not leadership or adult-like, but then … I wouldn’t accuse him of being a leader nor an adult. I am truly concerned, though, about what happens before, during, and most of all after the election next year. Would the military take him out in chains, or would they still respect him as their commander-in-chief? We know William Barr would hold off law enforcement from dragging him out of the White House. I have nightmares about this.

  11. I hope you did get some sleep amidst the madness going on!! I read that article about the whole Jewish thing yesterday and the last line of the article really made me cringe! It said how Trump pointed to the sky and said, “I am the chosen one! ” UGHHHHHH!!!!!!

  13. That gave us another ‘ is this true’ moment on the news last night. For someone who’s greatest desire was to meet royalty, to insult the Danish queen is bizarre. But rebuff one and insult all European Royalty – they are all related. I have it on good authority Trump will be put in The Tower if he sets foot in Britain again!

    • He has no concept of true royalty, how to act in their presence. Remember when he kept the Queen waiting on his last visit, then walked in front of her?
