Jolly … Ho Ho Ho … Monday 🎅

I debated whether I wanted to do a Jolly Monday post today, for my motivation seemed to have disappeared and taken my inspiration along with it.  But then, I was doing a bit of online shopping, browsing for some unique stocking stuffers and I came across some things that just seemed to call out to be shared!  So, I got a smidge of motivation and a tad of inspiration, though this may well be a shorter than usual Jolly Monday, and I hope you will be forgiving of that.

As we are only nine days from Christmas now, Jolly and I thought themed treats were in order …

Now, let’s start off this “week-before-Christmas” post with something I can definitely relate to!xmas-poem-cat

As I said, I was doing a bit of online shopping.  See, I went out stocking shopping tonight for a bit, but I was so tired that I only got enough to fill the girls’ stockings about halfway and didn’t even make a start on the boys’ stockings … we always do stockings for our friends’ boys, Tholfaqar, Ibraheem, and Yousif.  Though Tholfaqar is 19 years old now, it’s a tradition and it seems unfair to leave him out of the stocking exchange!  I was planning to hit another store to try to finish up, but when I came out of the first one, after about an hour or hour-and-a-half, everything had turned white!  Yep, s-n-o-w!  The roads were already slick, and I just didn’t feel like going anywhere else, so I came home in hopes of finishing up online.  I was looking for some warm socks for daughter Chris and I found this lovely pair … fleece lined and everything …

And only … $49.95!!!  Well, with tax it actually comes to $53.20 … a mere pittance, right?  WRONG.  Daughter Chris is NOT getting those socks in her stocking!

And then, one of Amazon’s recommendations for me was this …xmas-pooping-poochesThe description reads …

Do you know someone who loves dogs…too much? This 12 month calendar of pooping dogs will be the most memorable gift you give this year. Talk about a gift that keeps on giving; each month reveals yet another beautiful pooch answering nature’s call. And who doesn’t like a good cause? $1 FROM EACH CALENDAR is donated to the Maui Humane Society to support animals in need!

Um … a good cause, but no … thank you but no.

And then, looking for cat-themed gifts brought up …xmas-cat-gun-safetyWHO KNEW???  I had no idea I needed to have this talk with our moggies!  Thank goodness I stumbled ‘cross this book, else our poor little moggies (yeah, the ones who never leave the house and scurry under the sofa whenever there is a knock on the door 🙄) might have … gulp … come to a horrible end!

Long gone are the good old days when a cat’s biggest worries were mean dogs or a bath. Modern cats must confront satanists, online predators, the possibility of needing to survive in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, and countless other threats to their nine lives.

Needless to say, it was a bargain for only $9.18!

And then there was this … I mean, who doesn’t want a yodeling pickle???xmas-yodeling-pickle

  • Hours of mindless entertainment
  • Batteries included
  • Great gift for the person who has everything except a yodeling pickle

A steal at only $14.95!!!

And last, but not least … I know Jolly Monday is supposed to be 100% non-political, but I hope you’ll forgive me just this once, for this one is too good to pass up! xmas-farting-donnie.jpgIt’s a “Pull My Finger Farting Donald Trump Plush Figure Doll -With Animated Hair-10.5 Inches Tall”, described as …

Press the button to hear hilarious phrases come from the PMF POTUS’s mouth while it also plays a farting noise. President Trump has never been funnier with his hair flopping and his mouth yapping and his butt farting. Excellent sound quality and animation. This would be a great item to buy along with the Donald Trump toilet paper, Donald Trump Sound button, Donald Trump Talking Pen. This is a great version of a Trump talking figure. Sounds just like trump, it will have you laughing as soon as you press his finger. He loves to tweet and twitter and fart a lot. Take a Dump with Trump. MAKES A GREAT STOCKING STUFFER! NO FAKE NEWS HERE!

jollyWell, folks, that’s all I’ve got for the moment, but there is one Jolly Monday left before Christmas, so I’ll see what I can come up with before then!  Meanwhile, I hope you all have a great week ahead, hope you don’t have to be overwhelmed with holiday-related chores, and … most of all, I hope you are happy.  Be sure to share those smiles with all you see, for that’s really what the spirit of Christmas is all about, isn’t it?  I leave you with one last Christmas poem that is from me and Jolly, to all of you …xmas-poem-end

  1. Jill, I will pass on the POTUS doll. I did gain ten pounds looking at the cakes and cupcakes in your blog. And, yes I agree, $53 socks are best left unpurchased. For that price, they better offer a foot massage. Keith

    • Awww, and here I was sure you were going to ask your wife to get you the POTUS doll for Christmas! 😉 And about those socks … who in their right mind … oh, never mind … I just answered my own question.

    • Heck, having your fingernails pulled out one by one and walking barefoot on hot coals would beat watching the political antics down here! The yodeling pickle was rather intriguing! Happy … well, Tuesday now! Hugs!

  2. I smiled, so there you go… The ludicrous things that go on around us have not completely dimmed our sense of humour. Lots of hugs to you Jill. Don’t burn out trying to prepare for Christmas, and stay safe driving in the snow. ♥️♥️♥️🙏

    • Well I am so happy that you smiled that it brought a smile to my own face too! My sense of humour is often somewhat cynical these days, but it’s still there anyway. I’ve done so little in preparation for Christmas … I just cannot get motivated. If the girls didn’t nag and natter at me, I’d probably just opt for skipping it this year. Thanks, Colette! Love ‘n hugs! ❤

    • Thanks Hugh! I really was exhausted and disheartened when I started work on this, but a funny thing happened on the way to the forum … I found I was having fun with it! I loved some of the poems, and suddenly it became a joy instead of a chore! Happy Christmas to you too, dear friend!

  3. Thanks to you and Jolly for your Christmas poem.I believe a cwtch (Hug) goes a long way to easing the ills of the World. It would be nice if people remembered their Christmas spirit doesn’t come from a bottle, if not they could ruin Christmas for themselves but more importantly for their children. Drive sober or don’t drive at all, you can’t afford guesswork. Happy Christmas everyone.

    • You are so right … a smile, a hug, a kind word … sometimes that’s all it takes to make someone feel better. This is a tough holiday season for both your country and mine, but for the sake of our families, we all need to try to find a bit of cheer … and as you said, not from a bottle, but from within our hearts.
