It Has Begun …

Just a short while ago, I received ‘breaking news’ on my phone that Iran has launched missile strikes aimed at US troops in Iraq in retaliation for the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani last week.  Reports vary, but at least 20 U.S. servicemen are left dead.  Their blood, as well as the blood of every man, woman and child, is on the hands of Donald Trump, Mike Pence, Mike Pompeo, Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham.  It isn’t their children who will be coming home in body bags, but ours.

Trump was told to pull troops out of Iraq, but he was too stupid and too stubborn to do so.  This, then, is only the beginning.  Where is the ending?  I have no idea, but somebody better get rid of Trump before he gets us all killed.  And to any who still support Trump … stay the hell away from me!

  1. There has to be casualties… There’s nothing left of it…

Also… This from Balman Kahassi (reporter on the ground).

Horrific vid of the Boeing 737 of #Ukraine airline w/ 180 passengers burning in the sky & crashing just outside of #Tehran mins after taking off. #Iran is having a really dark day. Over 60 killed in the stampede, then scare of an all out war and now this.

    • The first ‘breaking news’ I got was from The Guardian, which said at least 20, but since then I’m not seeing anything about casualties either. Best guess is it’s being kept under wraps until they have done a full assessment. I’m betting there were some.

  2. You’re providing more news that the “regulars.” I just checked my Google News and they don’t mention any deaths. Just headlines about the attack … and the usual “opinion” links. I’m sure there will be more on TV news, which I’m going now to watch (it’s a bit after 5 pm here).

Thank you for keeping us informed. And NO THANKS to the orange idiot!

    • Well, the first news briefing I got said at least 20, but nothing about casualties since then, so … who knows? Perhaps it’s being kept out of the news until they have more information? I’ll let you know if I hear anything.

  3. Iraq can and still should remove the US Troops from Iraqi territory. It;s time for the US Senate (yes Republicans I mean you)to stop fearing the future and vote to get rid of Trump. Others should go to. Pompeo and Moscow Miitch should head for jail and not pass Go. This war can be stopped quickly and must be, we can’t have a war just because some spoiled brat couldn’t take some tweets teasing him when he does it himself all day every day except when he’s golfing.

    • I agree … Iraq ought to give them 12 hours to get the heck out, and if they don’t, get some bulldozers and push them over the border. Meanwhile, while all this is going on, ol’ Mitchie is pushing the envelop on the impeachment trial, saying he’s going to rush on through it without witnesses or new evidence that has come to light. Needless to say, I am growling … in between tears over the Iran situation. It could, as you say, be stopped quickly but … not when you’ve got a madman whose fingers are itching for war sitting in the Oval Office. Sigh.
