You won’t see this on Fox News

We all remember back when Trump said the coronavirus was naught more than a ‘cold’, and when he claimed it was a democratic ‘hoax’ perpetrated with the intent of bringing him down. Seeing his progression of comments, though, all in one place over the course of about a month-and-a-half, shows that without a doubt he is … at best, a moron, at worst, an evil megalomaniac. This post by endsandbeginnings, gives rise to the question: Is he insane or evil? I think a little of both.

Ends and Beginnings

Just as a reminder:

Feb. 7 (tweet): “…… as the weather starts to warm & the virus hopefully becomes weaker, and then gone.”

Feb. 10: “I think the virus is going to be — it’s going to be fine.”

Feb. 14: “We have a very small number of people in the country, right now, with it. It’s like around 12. Many of them are getting better. Some are fully recovered already. So we’re in very good shape.”

Feb. 19: “I think it’s going to work out fine. I think when we get into April, in the warmer weather, that has a very negative effect on that and that type of a virus. So let’s see what happens, but I think it’s going to work out fine.”

Feb. 24 (tweet): “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. … Stock Market starting to look very good to me!”

  1. ….and yet the latest poll I saw reported that 55% of Americans approval of Trump’s handling of the coronavirus crisis. I couldn’t believe it! People, have you been paying attention, or has Trump now conned a MAJORITY of us??

    • I KNOW!!! When somebody told me that on Thursday, I said, “NO WAY!” But then I checked and it was being widely reported by all the credible outlets, and it was, I think, from an ABC/Ipsos poll, which is just about as close to reliable as you get. People are fools! Ignorance it making the decisions for this nation and it makes me fear for the November election! No, he hasn’t conned a majority of us … his overall approval rating is only at 43%, but … why isn’t it in the 30-percentile range? Sigh. We live in a nation of fools, my friend.

      • We live in a nation of fools or suckers or gullible dupes. No matter how you put it, those people are so readily conned even after 3+ years of being conned by Trump, I fear that if they haven’t gotten wise to his act by now, they never will.

It is absolutely imperative that Trump be defeated in November. It’s time for Bernie to suspend his campaign, get 100% behind Biden, and URGE his followers to do the same. If democracy is to be saved, Trump must NOT get another four (or more) years in command. We must stand up against him UNITED, or we will go down in shameful disarray.

        • I do not, and can not understand them. He’s caught almost daily in lie after lie, and they know that, yet they blindly follow. He has made such a mucky muck of this coronavirus pandemic that … nobody in their right mind could believe a word he says. And yet, I hear them every day tell me that I’m just bitter because Hillary lost, and that I’m not giving him credit for all the “great” things he’s done. 🙄 I swear if he does get another four years, I’m jumping off a high cliff.

  2. Jill, I posted a variation of this on Ends’ blogpost. Thanks for the link. Keith

“Good post. Rear Admiral Kenneth Bernard, MD, the former head of the Global Pandemic team under Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, noted we are doing better, but we are a month to a month and a half behind on planning for the inevitable pandemic in the US. One key is the abolishment of the Global Pandemic team in 2018. The other is the naysaying by the president, as you summarize.

Tonight, conservative pundit David Brooks said the president has finally gotten serious, but his neurosis and narcissism get in the way. He took personally an innocent question and blew up at a reporter. Trump’s lens is everything is about him, so empathy for others is hard to come by. He continues to provide faulty information and gets too often corrected, even in the same news conference. He needs to let people in the know do the talking. He is at least doing better, but needs to stop rewriting history and giving out bad info. Keith”

  3. An interesting and entertaining post. Trump’s coronavirus journey from fiction to fact is astounding and still he remains rather unversed on the subject. Then again, considering that one of his sources about the disease is Jared Kushner, the less than well known and self-educated epidemiologist, it is not surprising. This post reminds me of the Claytoonz “Corona Closure” from March 16th, though I think that timeline begins earlier and ends sooner than this “Ends and Beginnings”. Thank-you!

    • It is astounding, but what’s even more so is that an ABC News poll tonight shows that over half the nation think he is handling this crisis well!!! They really are wearing blinders! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
