I find it encouraging to find some republicans are seeing Trump for the malignancy that he is, and hope they can convince more among their rank and file. Our friend Keith brings to our attention the comments of one lifelong republican … thank you, Keith!!!
This is courtesy of a CNN article called “This is the most succinct — and brutal — Republican rejection of Donald Trump that you will ever read,” which transcribes Steve Schmidt’s comments. Schmidt is a lifelong Republican, who was the campaign manager for John McCain in 2008 and Lamar Alexander in 2000. He is one of the founding members of The Lincoln Project, which is organized to help defeat Donald Trump in the 2020 election.
“Donald Trump has been the worst president this country has ever had. And I don’t say that hyperbolically. He is. But he is a consequential president. And he has brought this country in three short years to a place of weakness that is simply unimaginable if you were pondering where we are today from the day where Barack Obama left office. And there were a lot of us on that day who were deeply skeptical…

their spending is questionable at best, not exactly transparent which makes me question their credibility, just like everything else associated with our government which does everything in its power to avoid being transparent.

Note to Readers: Per an article in the USA Today this morning, there is one more Republican public figure who will vote for Biden:
“In an interview released Thursday with The Atlantic, former Republican presidential candidate and CEO of Hewlett-Packard Carly Fiorina said she would be voting for former Vice President Joe Biden instead of President Donald Trump in November.”
In an unsurprising move, the president mocked Fiorina. In my view, he can mock all he wants, but that is one more Republican who has said they will not vote for Trump..

I saw that last night and my jaw dropped! She was, after all, once a candidate for the presidency herself, though few took her candidacy seriously. I wonder if Sarah Palin will be next? Just joking …

Thanks Roger. It is good to see some of the republicans opening their eyes and having the guts to speak out about Trump & Co.

He’s not dictatorial material and politics ever sits on shifting sands

I dunno about him not being dictatorial material … he seems to like that role quite well. But you’re right … politics is fickle, prone to whatever crisis is up next.

Thinks he is.

Perhaps you’re right … he ‘don’t come close’ … he operates on emotion rather than intellect or logic, and that’s a dangerous thing.

Hi Jill,
I mentioned to Keith that apart from John Bolton’s book entitled “The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir”, there is another one according to https://time.com/5858357/robert-trump-neice-book/

Yes, I have pre-ordered Mary Trump’s book. I don’t think that the Trump clan can stop the release at the end of July, but if they do, she will find a way to make sure her words are heard. By the way … it is scheduled for a July 28th, not this month.

Dear Jill,
All the money and fame (or rather, infamy) can neither buy the Trump clan sanity nor rid them of vanity.
I shall be very busy in the months ahead, though I very much look forward to your publishing your book review of the President’s Niece’s Tell-All Book. When that happens, please kindly remind me to visit and read your keenly awaited book review by dropping me a line at https://soundeagle.wordpress.com/2017/10/18/the-quotation-fallacy/best-quotation-to-win-an-exclusive-loyal-contract-to-make-pig-boss-company-great-again/

Jill, thanks for the reblog. More folks need to see the words of this former long time Republican about this corrupt and inept president. Keith
