It was widely published on Monday that the U.S. passed the 200,000 mark of deaths from the coronavirus, but in truth, according to the highly credible reports I get daily, we passed 200,000 around the middle of last week – Wednesday, I believe. Minor detail, perhaps, but it proves what I’ve been saying all along – you cannot trust a damn thing that comes out of the federal government anymore. Another example …
Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) unveiled a new guidance acknowledging that the coronavirus can spread through the air. Well duh … otherwise why would they have been recommending that everyone wear masks when in a public venue? But then, the CDC reversed itself, took the guidance off their website, saying it was a draft that had been “posted in error”. More likely it simply didn’t meet with Donald Trump’s approval. And speaking of Trump, though I’d rather not, he held a rally somewhere in Ohio yesterday where he claimed that the virus isn’t really that bad, and said that it mostly kills “elderly people” and people with “other problems,” adding, “It affects virtually nobody.” IT AFFECTS VIRTUALLY NOBODY???????? More than 200,000 people have DIED from the coronavirus and he has the unmitigated gall to tell such a brazen lie??? And what … do those of us who are ‘elderly’ or have ‘other problems’ not count for anything? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. The saddest part is that the damn fools who attended that rally will no doubt believe his every word. They get what they deserve, but the rest of us deserve better. This country deserves better than what we currently have.
The one thing that has had the most severe negative impact on Trump’s approval rating has been his bungling of the coronavirus pandemic, so naturally he wants to minimize that, but We the People have a right to be able to believe what our government tells us. As of today, I don’t think we can believe a single word that comes from this administration. For example …
Yesterday, the Federal Reserve reported that household income in the U.S. is at a record high, despite job losses as a result of the pandemic. Interesting that while record numbers of people are struggling to pay the rent and put food on the table, household income is “record high”. Also not true. What is true is that the rich got richer while the poor got poorer. According to the Associated Press (AP) …
“The full recovery of wealth even while the economy has regained only about half the jobs lost to the pandemic recession underscores what many economists see as America’s widening economic inequality. Data compiled by Opportunity Insights, a research group, show that the highest-paying one-third of jobs have almost fully recovered from the recession, while the lowest-paying one-third of jobs remain 16% below pre-pandemic levels.”
Very few of us ‘average’ people will have seen an increase in our household income, but some people, if told they are better off today than a year ago, will believe it, even as they wonder where next month’s rent is coming from.
The list of lies we are being fed by the very people whose salaries we pay is longer than my arm. Be aware, don’t believe a damn thing that is put forth by this administration or any of its agencies. Do your own research, question everything. And for Pete’s sake, vote this evil maniac out of office in a few weeks!
Here our master plan is to shut the pubs at 10pm. That will fool the pesky virus. Apparently it’s all the public’s fault and the government did really well to kill so many so far.

I heard about that … and wondered what the Sam Heck good that would do? BoJo is almost … not quite, but almost … as stupid as Donnie. The difference is he isn’t as corrupt … just dumb. Sigh. I fear you guys will see another lockdown soon. 😥

According to data from The New York Times as of today there are 6,906,100 documented cases of Covid-19 and 200,ooo deaths in the United States! If in trump’s world this is virtually nobody affected, how many cases would it take to quantify as somebody affected? I’m sure that in the coming weeks and months the cases and deaths will continue to rise due to this sort of ineptitude and callous disregard for human beings on trump’s part. That said, one must wonder that if this coronavirus truly affects virtually nobody…why the “Operation Warp Speed” for a vaccine? No doubt that rush must be for we the “Elderly” and those with “Other Problems”! Thank-you!

Right, because in Trump’s mind, we are all expendable. Even his own children only have value to the point that they can do something for him … beyond that, he has no use for them. As of this writing, there are 205,471 deaths recorded as attributable to the virus, and most experts estimate the actual number is at least 30% higher. Trump, however, is busy with other things, such as robbing us and energizing his base over the next Supreme Court nominee. At the risk of sounding cruel (it’s late and I am fed up with Trump & Co) I hope that his nominee keels over dead before she can be confirmed and he has to start the whole process over again. Better yet, I hope Trump himself keels over dead, chokes on his Big Mac, or dies of ugliness. As re the vaccine … there won’t be a reliable one until sometime next year and anybody who would take one that comes out sooner — especially if it comes from a U.S. company — is a fool. Sigh. Beam me up, Scottie …

Jill, the news reporting now goes like this “The president has said, without proof…” 200,000 Americans have died and it simply does not register. He gives himself an A+ on handling the pandemic. The US has 4% of the global population and a over 20% of the COVID-19 deaths and he says he can’t assume responsibility for it. He admitted to lying and endangered and is still endangering his most ardent followers. And, he tells them that Joe Biden is dangerous to America?
To be frank, his administration should be hit with a class action lawsuit for dereliction of duty. When we needed a leader, this leader-wanna-be whiffed at the ball on the tee. We cannot solve a problem if we don’t admit we have one. Keith

He is … a sad, yet dangerous joke. NO president in the history of this nation has acted with such impunity, has broken all the rules and thumbed his nose at those of us who would hold him accountable. And yet … and yet some 40% or more of the adults in this nation still believe he is the best “man” for the job.
Yes, this administration should be the subject of a class action suit, for he has damaged us all with his abuse of power and dereliction of duty. I would join such a suit in a minute, and I have left written instructions for my daughter to file a suit in the event of my death from any stress-related cause! Spitting in the wind? Perhaps, but it makes a statement. He has no doubt shortened our lives … and been the cause of some 205,741 deaths from the pandemic.

Jill, our country is stupid enough to elect this person once and we are stupid enough to do it again. If he wins, the COVID-19 tally will continue to climb. It has only been held to the amount it is by the folks who are doing what is needed and governors who have a conscience. If he wins, he will use his “bully” pulpit to create worsening conditions. Plus, if the ACA is voted unconstitutional, he has no plan to fix. He just knows he wants to break it. So, America’s health will suffer. But, these don’t seem to matter. It is not his fault or responsibility, as he says. Keith

If he wins, many … most … of the things we value about this nation will cease to exist, perhaps even including our freedoms as established by the first 10 constitutional amendments, the Bill of Rights. I can see the freedoms of speech and press being obliterated already. Health care will be gone, income equality will have been only a dream, and most importantly, our commitment to the environment and our allies will vanish into thin air. Sigh.
