Every Saturday, our friend TokyoSand scours the ‘Net for the best political cartoons of the week. Yes, I do know that it’s Tuesday — often I don’t get around to re-blogging her post until a few days later. Since this is likely to be a long and stress-filled day for us all, I thought maybe it would be a good idea to start the day with a bit of humour, for I think humour will be hard to come by as the day progresses.
This is the last cartoon post before the election, and not surprisingly, many of the cartoons are about the election. I just found out from her post that one of my favourite cartoonists, Tom Toles, is retiring — his final cartoon is at the end of this post. Thank you, TS, for the wonderful work you do with your blog and with these cartoon posts.
Here’s the final cartoon roundup prior to Election 2020!

I can’t watch the voting anymore. So awful. I hoped for a landslide but apparently people can’t recognize evil when it’s killing people and dancing around in front of them. Way too close for comfort. I don’t get it. I never will. Hate gets a lot of support, that’s for sure.

Admittedly, it’s not looking good. I’m hoping someone can pull a rabbit out of their hat, but … sigh. Apparently there are even more utterly stupid people in this country than I thought.

Thanks, Emily! All fingers and toes are crossed … it’s all over now but the waiting … and the chaos that Trump is sure to create regardless of the results.

These are sentiments which those who oppose Trump and the mob who put him there should wear every day from now on, and be ready to defend the USA as one nation at a minute’s notice.

If this nation were threatened right now by an outside force, I suspect there would be no cohesion, but only finger-pointing and blame. Typically, an outside threat brings people together, but there is no cohesion to work with here today.

Actually the USA is tailor made for a divide and disable move, which is likely to have been taking place already.
During the Hundred Years war English and French factions were doing this all the time in the other country.
In fact a really astute operator would put resources into both sides in the USA, wouldn’t need much either.

What you say makes sense, and I think you’re probably right. And the people of this nation have fallen for it, hook, line & sinker. Something to think about … as if my small brain wasn’t already on overload 😉

It’ what happens when a sizeable portion of the populations exchanges it’s sense of proportion for rancid meat laced with strong spices packaged up fancy.

Distracted by the shiny objects, as it were. Sigh.

How strange, I blinked and the ‘n’ was replaced by ‘tt’
