I think it is important for everyone to hear how a real president, a real man, speaks to the nation …
Thank you, Joe Biden, for reminding us what leadership looks like.

Biden wants to bring us together… which is why his supporters are busy drafting a Gulag list for Trump supporters.
if you think I’m making this up, just do a search on the trump accountability project. it’s a real thing.
https://www.trumpaccountability.net/
Just a few quotes from the site which I find quite disturbing.
“We should not allow the following groups of people to profit from their experience:”
What does that even mean?
“Those who elected him.”
so I guess relatives of mine will be targeted? What about that welcoming people of differing political views?
“Individuals who worked for the Trump for President campaign, Republican National Committee, and affiliated PACs in 2016 or 2020.”
So anyone who volunteered at a phone bank or sent out a text will also be targeted by not being allowed to “profit from their experience?” again, something that doesn’t really make any sense because we don’t even know what that phrase means.
Think about where this could all lead.
I ask again, who are the intolerant ones among us? Trump supporters don’t go around drafting lists of potential political enemies.

Give it a break, Scott.
Accountability is good. You are reading too much into that.

give it a break, just another way to minimize my position, like saying “really”, or whatever.
Tell me one thing good about this accountability, what will it accomplish?

Honestly, nobody is going to come after the people who voted for Trump. Some of the changes that Trump made might be rolled back, but that’s expected after an election.

It is to be hoped that many of Trump’s actions involving climate change and immigration will be rolled back, and rightly so. Other things, too, but those two, plus putting into action a plan to contain the pandemic which is out of control right now, are critical.

TWO THINGS CAN BE TRUE:
1. #Trump’s defeat is unquestionably positive. Beating fascists and white supremacists is essential to justice. Today is a good day.
2. #Biden’s policies will still harm millions and uphold the oligarchy. The Dem establishment is an unmitigated disaster.

I agree with the first of those. I only partly agree with the second. I’m not a big fan of the Democratic establishment. But it will be an improvement over the last 4 years.

#1 is true, but I have no idea what you mean with #2. Clarify, please?

Quite so, Neil. Thank you.

As Neil said, Scott, ease up. Whether or not that is even a democratic website is questionable, but I highly doubt it is an Official capital D Democratic website is highly unlikely. No one with any integrity and honor, not to mention power, is paying any attention to bullshit like that. That is not how us Snowflakes operate, and I cannot believe you believe we do. That is embarrassing.

Scott … I echo what Neil and rg said … please stop chasing conspiracy theories and stick to facts. No, Biden isn’t coming for your relatives or for anybody. He only hopes to unify this country, to restore the “equal rights for all” part of our society, and to restore environmental regulations and our standing in the world. There is no hidden agenda here. Please, my friend, chill.

Thank you for sharing!!.. Donald Trump was never president material, for him it was all about playing a role and satisfying his ego while his minions did all the work, much like a king… of course, his minions knew that all they had to do was fuel his ego and he would give (or try to) them whatever they wanted..
Even if Joe wins, there will be much work to do because those minions, etc. will still be there… 🙂
“It is not the size of the dog in a fight that matters, it is the size of the fight in the dog”.. (Mark Twain),,, 🙂
Hope all is well in your part of the universe and life is all that you wish for it to be!… 🙂

You are right, Dutch, but I think the fact that he was not presidential material was his appeal to many who were tired of politics-as-usual. However, if they thought he was going to be for the working class, they had another think coming. Thing that amazes me is that so many people still don’t see how he has damaged this nation — and their own futures.
Yes, Joe will have a tough road ahead, especially without a majority in the Senate, and progress will be slow … we will need to be patient. But, his heart is in the right place, he has the best interests of the nation and the people in mind, and he is about a thousand times more compassionate and intelligent than Trump. Love the Mark Twain quote!

Jill, so true. Even for those who may not have voted for him this is what we should want in a president. I do believe there is some “voter remorse” for a few Trump voters after his tantrum over fraudulent claims. Biden’s even temperedness and call for patience is a refreshing change from the “kick over the checkers board when losing” Trump tirade. Keith

I like to think that there is some voter remorse, and likely there is among some, but to some, this Trumpian behaviour is just what they love about him and they are likely applauding.

Just got to hang in there as the waves of bile and desperate antics are about to go into overdrive. Looking for one sign of weakness, one mistake, one piece of voter fraud to seize upon. The odious Nigel Farage gave the game away. He was spouting on about voter fraud and the evidence pointing to it. Eventually pressed he said – ‘the fraud was so new they hadn’t found evidence as yet’.

I woke this morning just as it was announced that Joe Biden has won the election! Yes, the next 74 days will be a living hell here, but once that’s over, perhaps this nation can begin to repair some of the damage, begin to heal a bit. Oh, Nigel’s reasoning is laughable! No doubt Trump will follow suit!
