Rainy Day Snarky Snippets

The dreary gloom outside matches my mood inside, so … It’s time for some snarky snippets!  Granted, most of what I write these days is snark-filled, but still there is more … it’s never-ending.

AR-15 vs pandemic

Junior, aka Donald Trump, Jr., has contracted the coronavirus.  He says he is doing well … too bad.  He also said he will pass the time in isolation battling with the virus by cleaning his collection of guns.  I wonder just how many he has?  And what … does he think if he gets those guns all nice and clean (how did they get dirty, anyway?) that he can just shoot the virus and make it go away?  Or perhaps he’s planning another killing spree with his brother soon …

The last party …

Meanwhile, Karen Pence, has invited Congressional Club members to an afternoon “Christmas Craft” at the VP’s residence on December 9th at 1 p.m. Attendees are requested to wear ‘Holiday Attire’, but the invite makes no mention of masks. The event comes as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has discouraged holiday gatherings, and as we have set new records nearly every day for new cases and deaths due to the pandemic. Her husband, Vice-president Mike Pence, is allegedly the head of the White House’s coronavirus task force, which has said indoor gatherings should be limited.  Oh, the irony!  The delusion!  The stupidity!

Karen-Pence-invite

Thankfully, this will likely be the last time she gets to use that title.

Poetic justice …

Merrick-GarlandIn a bit of fun irony, it is reported that President-elect Biden is considering Merrick Garland for the position of Attorney General!  You’ll remember that moderate Garland was President Obama’s pick to fill the Supreme Court seat left open on the death of Justice Antonin Scalia in 2012.  Mitch McConnell single-handedly refused to allow the Senate to even interview Garland or consider the nomination, claiming the seat should remain open for the next ‘president’ to fill.  Funny, isn’t it, how he changed his tune this year after the death of Justice Ginsburg?  I wonder if Moscow Mitch will find some objection to Garland as Attorney General?  Wouldn’t it be nice if the other republican senators grew a pair and stood up to Mitch … just once?

mnuchinGiving Americans a middle finger

It isn’t bad enough that Trump is certifiably insane and is throwing roadblocks up all over the place to deny President-elect Biden access to information that would allow for a peaceful, smooth transition in January, but his minions are playing the game also.  On-his-way-out treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin has decided to end a variety of programs aimed at helping markets, businesses and municipalities weather the pandemic and asking the central bank to return the funds earmarked to support those efforts.

By ending the programs, Mnuchin is taking away a source of economic support just as the new administration comes into office and as rising virus cases dog the recovery. By asking the Fed to return the money that enables the emergency efforts, he could make it harder for Democrats to restart them at a large scale and on more generous terms.  This is another trumpeter giving We the People a middle finger.  Again.  If this country goes into a deep recession next year, don’t even think of blaming the Biden administration … put the blame where it belongs, in Donald Trump’s court.

The murderer is back on the streets

Remember Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old white supremacist punk who shot and killed two people at a Black Lives Matter protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin back in August?  Well, he is out of prison on $2 million cash bond as of yesterday.

Hours after the release, one of his attorneys, Lin Wood, posted this picture of Rittenhouse alongside actor Ricky Schroder.

rittenhouse

“Free at last!!!,” Wood wrote, above the smiling photograph in which the newly freed Rittenhouse is wearing a Black Rifle Coffee Company t-shirt.  Well, not exactly ‘free’, since he faces five felony charges of first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide and attempted first-degree intentional homicide.  In another tweet, Wood called Rittenhouse “a hero”.  And this may well define just what is wrong with half of this nation today.  When we applaud killing, when we call cold-blooded killers ‘heroes’, then we have for damn sure lost all shreds of humanity.

Personally, I hope Rittenhouse goes to prison and doesn’t come back into society until he is too old and doddery to even walk straight, let along shoot straight.

A final note …

And last but not least, Fox News’ idiot Geraldo Rivera thinks Trump should be honoured by having the coronavirus vaccine named after him.  Personally, I think it would be more appropriate to name the virus itself after Trump, for he has the blood of hundreds of thousands on his hands due to his intentionally inept response.  Yes, the trumptanicvirus … or TTV … sounds about right to me.

  3. Hello Jill. Thanks for the updates, I love your style. I was thinking, isn’t bail something of value given to the court to ensure you will return to the court to get it back? If that is the case how does other people who it seems can clearly afford to lose the money posted ensurer Rittenhouse returns to court instead of fleeing? The reason the bail was so high was because the court recognized he was a flight risk with both means and access to those who would hide him. Hugs

    • Thanks Scottie!!! Well, initially a GoFundMe was started and had reached over a million dollars quite quickly, but … the people who run GoFundMe said it violated their terms of service, so all the money was returned to the donors. I know that Ricky Schroeder and other wealthy dudes have contributed to his bail, and you are right … if he skips out, then they will lose that money, but I don’t feel sorry for them if they do, for anybody who supports a killer like Rittenhouse deserves what comes to them. Hugs.

  4. I heard Rudy’s daughter does not at all agree with her father as her brother, who was also found positive with Coronavirus, was given a job by Trump. That job may not last very long unless Trump establishes his own empire in Florida. It’s sickening to see Jr. and Eric holding a dead animal that was once majestic, beautiful, and alive. Talk about stupid. Like many rich “hunters” they probably hired a “guide” to help line up the animal in their sights so all they had to do was pull the trigger. And they call that hunting. Try killing with a lot of help. 😦 — Suzanne

    • Who in their right mind would want to work for Trump anyway? Sheesh. Yes, when they go on safari, it is no contest. Guides find the animals for them, they are confined to a very small area, and then … the Trump boys have big powerful rifles, while the animals have only teeth and claws, and are not given the chance to get near enough to use them. It really isn’t sportsmanship, requires no particular skill, and the poor animal stand zero chance. 😥 I’ve often said I would love to see them put in the forest and their guns taken away … make them fight mano-a-mano and let’s see just how strong and brave they are!

  5. Rittenhouse will never show up in court. He will disappear from the sight of humanity until after plastic surgery, and removed fingertips. He will spend the next 20 years in a backwoods militia compound, until in his new identity he is brought forward as the 2044 Repuglycan presidential candidate, at which time the GOP will leak it to the press who he really is, and he just might win, I will likely not be around to see my prediction come true, but maybe Miss Goose will do some gloating, and puking, when it does.

    • Oh!!! What a depressing scenario you paint, rg! I definitely won’t be around to see whether or not that comes to pass, but I hope to still be around come time for the court date … I want to hear the jury verdicts read: “Guilty” “guilty” “guilty” … etc. Then again, with half the country crazy enough to have applauded him and even donated to his GoFundMe account … who knows? Sigh.

  6. Nice snarking.I almost couldn’t spared the time to comment as I was going o write a thank you letter to Trump for infecting Don Jnr, though not enough, and Rudi Jnr. He’s doing us a great service wiping out his own side. There but for want of a mask. I wish Don Jnr ill and hopes his rifle backfires if it is ever used on a majestic animal again.I lik the idea of Merrick Garland getting that job.

    • I don’t know anything about Rudy’s kids, so I haven’t stuck pins in voodoo dolls with their image, but I know plenty about Junior, Eric, and Ivanka that I simply cannot find a shred of compassion for any of them. Yes, I have my fingers crossed that Merrick Garland is his choice … what a slap in the face that would be to Moscow Mitch. All the more reason why the democrats MUST win those two runoff races in Georgia!!!

  7. I. Can’t. Even. 1) Deserves to die in a wild animal stampede. 2) May all the lovely GOP ladies share everything at their little soiree. 3) Congrats to Mr Garland. May he hang like a millstone around McConnell’s thick neck. 4) Excuse me but I never liked Mr Schroeder and it would seem I was right. 5) Oh dear God, where to begin with idiot Rivera? He should have sealed himself up in the empty tomb where Jimmy Hoffa WASN’T. His career was certainly buried in that moment as far as I’m concerned. You have a winning loser selection here, Jill.

    • 1) I agree. 2) Absolutely. 3) Oh yes … this will be poetic justice indeed! It’s not confirmed yet, but I understand he is on the ‘short list’. 4) I thought he was cute as a child actor, and haven’t given him a thought since. It just amazes me that anybody can think this Rittenhouse kid is a worthy cause. 5) I haven’t ever paid any particular attention to Geraldo Rivera, so believe it or not, I had no idea what you meant when you mentioned him in conjunction with Jimmy Hoffa’s tomb! Thanks, Cheryl! There are just so many losers out there these days that it’s not hard to find a selection of ’em.

  8. Ohhhh yes! I DO like the idea of Merrick Garland as Attorney General. Hope the rumors are true! Won’t it be delicious when something (or two or three) comes up that he gets to thumb his nose at Moscow Mitch? 😈 Sweet justice.

    • So do I! He would be fair and honest … certainly more than we can say for Bill Barr! And it would drive ol’ Moscow Mitch crazy! Now, we need to get those two Senate seats from Georgia so that Mitchie won’t be able to block Biden’s nominations.

  9. Jill, well done. I will respond to a couple of these. Merrick Garland would be a great AG and still would be a great SCOTUS justice. I agree on naming COVID-19 the Trump Virus. I started to say Trump Flu, but most of already have that. I do not wish ill will on Trump or Giuliani’s children for getting COVID-19, yet neither is it a surprise they did. I saw Junior’s comment about cleaning his weapons while recovering. Really? That is what you want to say at a time like this? Keith
