No Words

“I saw a man with a submachine gun of some sort, an automatic rifle, and he was firing in the open.”

“Somebody went behind their car to the trunk and then got another gun, then I saw one body on the floor.”

“I thought he saw me, and so I immediately ducked for cover.”

  1. Thank you for sharing!!… in history’s past one would not hear all these reports because of the lack of technology combined with those who wish to ignore the pain and suffering of others while thinking of only themselves.. as Ray Stevens said; “there’s none so blind as those who will not see”…

today’s technology is exposing life as it really is, reality but unfortunately there are those whose mindset is stuck in history’s past and still will not see…. “The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom” (Isaac Asimov)… 🙂

    Until we meet again..
    May your day be touched
by a bit of Irish luck,
    Brightened by a song
    in your heart,
    And warmed by the smiles
    of people you love.

    • You are so right … technology gives us an almost instant view of everything that happens … or at least those things that aren’t deliberately hidden. And yes, there will always be those who view events and the world in general through a pair of coloured glasses that see things as they wish to see them, rather than as they really are. I will never understand the gun culture in this nation, and it seems to be getting worse rather than better. Thank you much for the lovely Irish Saying, my friend … those always bring a smile.

  2. I can’t count that many red dots Jill, do you have a specific number between those dates? A rhetorical question only, but what the hell is the matter with those people who seem to think the gun is a natural extension of the hand. So much for a civilised society.

    • I know it was a rhetorical question, but actually I do have those numbers right at my fingertips, so …
Thus far in 2021, there have been 12,431 deaths by gun, 9,806 injuries, 148 mass shootings, 11 mass murders. Of the deaths, 87 were children under 11 years, another 314 were teenagers. Chilling, isn’t it?

As for what the hell is the matter with those people, I lie awake nights trying to figure out the answer to that question. Stupidity, greed, arrogance … all of the above? I just don’t know. Sigh.

      • Chilling yes, but also sickening to realise what a high percentage of the population are happy that there should be no control over access to the weapons that caused all this misery and destruction of their fellow human beings.

        • Yep, sickening and disgusting. Were it in my power, I would destroy every firearm in the country … in the world. That people see this is a ‘right’, that they believe they have a ‘right’ to shoot and kill people … makes me wish I weren’t a part of this ugly country. Sigh.
