Smile! It’s Jolly Monday!!!

Good morning, my friends, and welcome to …

Now now … it’s not all that bad.  We’ve had Mondays before and survived them.  Tell you what … I bet that we can all find something to start this week off with a smile, and then I challenge you to share those smiles with at least as many people as you have fingers on both hands!  Remember that the thing about sharing a smile is it benefits both the giver and the receiver, so the more you share your smile, the bigger it gets!  I see that Joyful has laid out a spread for us, so let’s grab a bite to snack on and a cuppa something warm and see just how big we can make those smiles this morning!

Now, I like macaroni and cheese … homemade, not that crap that comes out of a box with the fake powdered excuse for cheese.  I make mine using aged white cheddar and Monterrey Jack cheeses, a bit of heavy cream, a dash of Worcestershire sauce, and plenty of pepper, and it’s a favourite around here.  I also like ice cream, though it doesn’t like me too much, and being diabetic it’s a rare treat for me.  However, I do not think the sound of the two combined holds much appeal.

Brooklyn-based Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is rolling out a limited edition of their product combining Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (that boxed crap) with their ice cream to create the Kraft Macaroni & Cheese-flavored ice cream, according to a Kraft Heinz Company statement.

“We know that there is nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than ice cream. That is why we wanted to combine two of the most iconic comfort foods to create an ice cream with the unforgettable flavor of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese we all grew up with.”

Blech.  I will stick with chocolate, thank you!

I found this really cool picture while I was over at Phil’s Phun snagging some ‘toons and I just had to share it with you …

And now … the moment you’re all waiting for … da ‘toons!

And some fun memes …

Just a few cute pictures to make you go “Awwwwww” …

I usually include a couple of Maxine ‘toons in case our friend Hugh is able to drop in, and also because several readers seem to love Maxine (as do I, for she and I are of like minds!).

And last, but never least, let’s have a cute animal video!  These raccoons made me laugh and I think they’ll make you laugh, too!  Or at least grin.

Well, folks, it’s time for us to all do those things we do on the weekdays.  I’m lucky in that these days I’m my own boss and nobody complains if something didn’t get done, but I well remember the days when I had to march to the beat of somebody else’s drum.  I hope you all have a wonderful week and that you’ll share those smiles.  If you run out of smiles, there’s a basket by the door … just pop in and grab a few!  Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa, Jolly & Joyful!

  1. I would have commented sooner, but I had to go and puke at the thought of macaroni cheese ice cream 🤮

Some good laughs here, I particularly liked the bear going through the doorway. But that one with the police car – is that really what British accents sound like to you guys? It’s a mix of Oirish and Cockney! And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Arsenal one has been doing the rounds for years and is totally false. As a supporter of the Arse’s fiercest rivals you can trust me on this – we’d have had a field day with that if it were real. The footballer in the photo did play for them, though: he is Liam Brady, an Oirish international who is one of their best ever players. It’s a shame it isn’t true, though, as the Arse have had a lot of dicks playing for them over the years…

    • I know … I nearly had to do the same when I read about it. 🤢

I’m glad you found something to laugh about … that’s always my goal on Jolly Monday! As for the accent … I can’t say, for I can’t distinguish words or accents, but I do think that people exaggerate when they are trying to imitate almost any accent! I figured that Arsenal one was old, but didn’t know it was false. Still made for a bit of humour, though. Have a happy week ahead, my friend!

      • Someone clearly thought that we sound like that – probably been influenced by watching Mary Poppins! I really wish the Arsenal one had been real – a full house at my team’s ground chanting ‘you’re all a bunch of dicks’ would have been priceless 😂

  2. Jill, too funny. Of course, Fred Flintstone loves Mick Jagger’s group. I love the “buy one , get one free” onesies on the twins. But, Mac and cheese ice cream is a bridge too far. Love them both, but not as one. Keith

    • Those onesies were just too cute! I’m with you on the ice cream, but one reader said someone told her they sold out almost as soon as it was in stock. A lot of people apparently don’t have good taste?

      • Jill, my guess on the Mac-n-cheese ice cream is they had to try it. Liking is another thing. So, the key question is would they buy it again. I used to live on Kraft in college. Keith

        • Agreed … and perhaps this is why it’s a ‘limited edition’ … they know people will try it once just for the novelty, but aren’t likely to keep coming back for more!

  3. I smiled as soon as I saw this post knowing it would be full of smiles and I was right! 😊
Oooh I love mac and cheese too but a big NO on the Mac and cheese icecream! Sounds as bad as pickle icecream and licorice. Not every flavor is meant to be icecream!

Haha on the socks! So true!!
Poor piggy, get out of there!
LOL on the snails. 😂 Noah should have carried them.

  4. Oh the joy of this! So many giggles, so many laughs, so much to share….. I am with you wholeheartedly about the m-a-c ice cream, but what a stunner of PR this is! I have heard, seen and read nothing but about this coup! Someone wrote that when he checked they were totally sold out after just ‘a moment’ of putting it on the shelves.

I LOVE that caterpillar’s art work – beautiful.

I adore your choice of fun, really all first class. There’s one I don’t understand but for a Swiss I was doing alright!

In the German language, a racoon is a Washbear…. so the one going for a swim and the one cleaning the toilet are both actually proofing the German translation to be spot on. When I lived in Canada for a while, I then bought a racoon lined winter coat. No not lined at the interior, rather some fur around the hood and the bottom of the coat. Very Victorian movie style (although I didn’t know that at the time). Much later on after my buying this coat, I saw real racoons for the first time in my life and I went off my beautiful coat in a moment. I did like them less however when we had them upturning our bins and spreading the contents.

Thanks for a joyful beginning of this week.

    • I’m so very glad you enjoyed today’s Jolly Monday!!! So, the Mac ‘n cheese ice cream is selling well … I guess there are a lot of people in this world with no taste!!!

Yes, I thought that caterpillar’s artwork was supreme! Humans cannot match the work of Mother Nature, no matter how hard they try!

I’m glad you enjoyed the raccoon … er, Washbear video! They can be pests … some nested in our attic once many years ago and caused quite a mess! But, they’re so cute … who could stay mad at the for long? Have a great week ahead, my friend!
