You’re FIRED!

There was never anything that deemed Kellyanne Conway qualified to sit on the U.S. Air Force’s Board of Visitors.  She has no military experience at all and her appointment to that position by the former guy can only be said to have been a political favour.  Okay, every president has likely meted out such favours, and the next president most often reverses them if they aren’t qualified.

On Wednesday, the White House told 18 officials who had been appointed by the former guy to serve on the boards of U.S. military service academies to resign or be dismissed.  Of the 18, only one that I’m aware of was even remotely qualified for the positions to which he had been appointed:  former National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster.  Among the least qualified were former Trump advisor and one-time campaign manager Kellyanne Conway and former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer.  Neither had a shred of qualifying experience for the positions to which they were assigned.

A sample of one of the letters from White House assistant Catherine M. Russell read …

“On behalf of President Biden, I am writing to request your resignation as a Member of the Board of Visitors to the U.S. Naval Academy.  Please submit your resignation to me by the close of business today.  Should we not receive your resignation, your position with the Board will be terminated effective 6:00 p.m. tonight.  Thank you.”

And the fight was on … naturally it was, for anything that President Biden says or does is food for the Republican gristmill.  And naturally, Kellyanne’s was the loudest voice of dissent, tweeting …

“President Biden, I’m not resigning, but you should.”

Former Press Secretary Sean Spicer, whose claim to fame was his ridiculous and disproven claim about the size of the former guy’s inauguration crowd in 2017, is also flapping his wings and crying “Foul!”.  Again, not surprising but also neither mature nor professional.  Spicer, in fact, has threatened to sue current White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki for her remarks when asked to comment on the terminations …

“I will let others evaluate whether they think Kellyanne Conway, Sean Spicer and others were qualified, or not political, to serve on this board.  But the president’s qualification requirements are not your party registration. They are whether you are qualified to serve and whether you’re aligned with the values of this administration.”

And so, while wildfires are raging throughout the West, while floods are crippling the northeast, while more than a thousand people per day are dying in the U.S. alone as a result of COVID, while voting rights and women’s rights are being decimated on a daily basis, this … the removal of highly unqualified individuals from positions they never earned, will be in our faces, cost the government wasted time and money, and give more fuel to the GOP fires already burning out of control.  What’s next, I wonder?  The quality of food served in the U.S. Capitol?  Not up to Republican standards?  🙄

  1. Thank you for sharing!!.. another example of Trump and supporters taking care of each other, mainly for their personal benefit and Trump doing it to protect himself.. to be sure others do it also but if one is not qualified, one should not be in the position… again, be it Federal, State, etc., it is the followers and supporters one has to deal with to effect change, not necessarily the leadership… 🙂

Hope you are feeling better and until we meet again..
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
    wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
    with joy that long endures.
    May all life’s passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

  2. How many other political appointees are still holding down jobs, in particular Trump appointees? We know from his track record he purposely put people into positions they had no qualifications for. Therefore, getting rid of all of them is doing what Trump promised to do, but lied, clean up the swamp.

  4. Jill, while it is within his rights to do this, to pick a fight when none was needed was something the president need not have done. We have too many issues to deal with and he just gave fodder for time that could be spent focusing on that. To be frank, the Republican party would rather spend its time on fighting issues that are not that important or are contrived. But, when I look at my feed, I do not see enough discussion on climate change, infrastructure, debt and deficit, civil rights abuse, health care, voting rights abuse, etc. Keith

      • Are they distraction? Or are they another attempt, like leaving Shghanistan, to correct the wrongs of previous administrations? I have no idea what the Board of Visitors even does, but with people like Spice and Conway on it, you can believe it is not accomplishing its mandate, if it even has one. It is not Biden who is making it a distraction (though I think it could have been better handled), so please put the blame where it belongs, on crybaby MAGAts.

        • I hear what you’re saying, rawgod, but the problem from which we all suffer is that Those Who ‘Lead’ Us are all beholden to the plutocrats who pull their strings, whichever side they sit on. ‘Divide and conquer’ is a proven tactic. Whether Republican, Democrat, or, on this side of the Pond, Tory, or, (err… well, there are really only Tories, they currently have no credible opposition) are all of the same ilk: they’re all old school politicians, and they need to learn that the world has changed — but of course they, quite simply, will not. When your income depends upon not changing your spots, you don’t change them.

          • Well said! The establishment wants us to choose sides so we can fight amongst ourselves, wizard behind the curtain (elites, politicians, corporations) get away with murder when we’re collectively distracted by media bullshit. Fox News, CNN MSNBC’s real job is to gaslight the ignorant masses with contentious non-issues. Over time ppl don’t even realize the wool being pulled over their eyes. Quite sad, the mass brainwashing is nearly complete!

  5. Conway. Response reminiscent of telling a teenager they should clean their room. There is no more to be said.
Unless she would like to explain the virtues of 2016-2020 to the population in an area with a high African-American demographic, Women’s Rights Group, etc, etc.
