Holiday Lights & Queen — A Winning Combination!

Tonight I am too tired, too depressed, too frustrated by the news of the day to write a coherent post.  And besides, it’s almost Christmas, a time to find joy rather than listen to a crotchety ol’ Filosofa rant … right?  I came across this video of a holiday light display that goes above and beyond any I’ve seen before.  It is pretty awesome and I thought you guys might enjoy it, too, especially those of you who are fans of Queen. but even if you’re not, just turn the volume off and watch the lights.  I must say, however, I’m really glad these people don’t live across the street from me!

  1. I mean, like WOW man! You just have to admire all the effort, creativity and invention that went into that (Still I have to agree with you, wouldn’t be too keen on being in the neighbourhood, but maybe it’s something the locals look forward to).
Anyway, the important thing is that you are still with us Jill, and putting ‘The Words’ out there.
And sometimes you just have to let the news take care of itself.
So lots of love to you and yours Jill.
🌲🌲🌲🐺🐺🐺….AaaOOOOOOOOO to you for this season

  3. Dearest Jill:
Whilst this post is somewhat short of the hoped for Festivus Miracle,
I cannot have an Airing of Grievances about it. Nor did it require a
Feat of Strength to watch it. The only things missing that I can find are
the Festivus Pole & traditional Meatloaf Dinner. Happy Festivus!
Freddie Mercury once said : “The bigger the better; in everything.”
One must wonder if Freddie would have liked this Christmas Light Show??
I LOVE IT!! WHAK!! and Thank-YOU!!

    • Sorry about the lack of a Festivus post, but next year I will try to remember to mark it on the calendar and do better.

I’m glad you found this entertaining despite the lack of a pole and meat loaf! I didn’t know enough about Freddy Mercury to say for sure, but I like to think he would have enjoyed it! I’m glad you did! WHAK!!!

      • No apology is needed! Instead of appearing to be clever, as was my intention, I appeared to be less than gracious.
        Gracious :
        A) marked by kindness and courtesy.
        B) marked by tact and delicacy.
        C) characterized by charm, good taste, generosity of spirit.
My lame attempt at humor missed all of the above. I humbly apologize, but still…about next year?!
        WHAK!! Thank-you!

        • Actually, I found your comment to be very clever and I was certainly not offended in any way! There was nothing unkind or discourteous about it! It was NOT a lame attempt at humour … I chuckled throughout! Now, Miss Ellen, stop apologizing! Next year, just remind me a few days before Festivus and I will do you proud! Love you! WHAK!!!

  5. Oh that is so funny Jill, that has energised me for the day. Must show it to my daughter-in-law who is a lighting technician, but we haven’t got a display like that. I wonder how often they switch it on, surely not continuously!

    • Wow! I’m so happy that you enjoyed it and it has energised you! I hope your daughter-in-law enjoys it, too! As I said, I’m happy I don’t live across the street from them, especially if they keep it on all night! Still, I enjoyed seeing it!
