Good first-Monday-morning-of-the-year, my friends! Joyful is off helping Roger do something with his tower this morning, so the food prep was left up to me. You know what that means! Jolly offered to help, but as you’ll remember, in years past he has set the kitchen afire twice, so he is effectively banned from the kitchen! Anyway, grab yourself a snack and a nice warm cuppa something and let’s see if we can bring about a few chuckles to start this week off on the right foot, shall we?
Those of you who know me well know that I consider peanut butter to be nature’s most perfect food. If I had to live my life out on a desert island with only one food available, I would choose peanut butter!
And because I know we all need to eat lots of fruits and veggies for our continued well-being …
Sorry, friends … you had your fill of bacon last week on National Bacon Day! This week, you’re on the wagon!
Have any of you ever heard of a movie, produced and released in 2010, about a tire (tyre for our UK friends) named Robert that goes on a murderous rampage in the California desert? I had not heard of it until I saw this meme over at Phil’s Phun and had to investigate to see if it was a joke or not. It’s not – it’s an actual movie, although it was never a box office hit (gee, I wonder why?)
Naturally, my curiosity was piqued and I just had to go find a short trailer for the movie …
The movie starts with Robert (the tire/tyre) standing upright and discovering that he has psychokinesis. He tests his newfound powers by making animals and inanimate objects explode. Robert spots a woman drive by and attempts to use his powers on her, but he only succeeds in making her car stall before he is run over by a truck. The woman manages to start her car and drive off while Robert kills the truck driver that ran him over. I won’t tell you any more just in case you decide to watch the flick yourself, though I wouldn’t waste my time if I were you, but at the end, Robert is killed and then reincarnated as a killer tricycle! I do believe this has to be the strangest movie plot I’ve ever heard of! You can catch it on Amazon if you’re so inclined …
And now, let’s leave the bizarre behind and go see what fun ‘toons Jolly has chosen for us today!
I found a few memes that made me chuckle and I hope you will too …
Today’s cute animal video is a short one but cute and funny. Be sure to see the surprise ending!
Well, folks, it’s that time when we all have things to do and places to be, so we thank you for spending a bit of your Monday morning with us. Keep safe & warm and have a great week. Oh, and be sure to share those delightful smiles I see you wearing! After all, not everybody was able to see the cute polar bears! Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa, Jolly and Joyful!
I think I will bypass over that movie.
Bah-hum-bug! LOL!
Uh oh on the mice! 😂
Haha on the bunnies!
Thanks for the many chuckles dear friend!

I had a feeling you wouldn’t be rushing to watch that flick! I’m so happy, though, that you found humour and a chuckle or two here! Love you! ❤

Ah, yes. Poor Peter Piper. I believe the purported professional produce perpetuator picked a peck of pickled peppers for said poor perished Peter Piper. Personally, Professor Piper, Peter Piper’s perpetually put-out pater who preferred peppers and potatoes, perfunctorily professed to a passel of people that he would pursue poor Peter Piper’s poisoner past perditions’ portal.
Hugs and cheers

And a j(J)olly f(F)irst Monday of 2022 it is, in more ways than one! But, first a word or two about the selection of sandwiches you so nicely prepared in Joyful’s short absence. I attempted to peer closely, my nose nearly touching the screen, at each of them in order to clearly determine the contents of each one…with limited success! As January 8th is the birthday of Elvis Presley it seems that a grilled peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwich on white bread should be a mandatory inclusion on today’s menu. I prefer the bananas mashed as opposed to the thin slices and those rather ripe ones will do nicely in a pinch. Please do not forget to add the drizzle of honey on the contents prior to the grilling! It is noted that some of yours do come close to “The Elvis”, though raisin bread is detested and Pepperidge Farm Farmhouse Butter Bread is preferred. And, the peanut butter is left entirely to your discretion as my favorite Peter Pan Simply Ground Honey Roasted has not been available for over a year and their regular honey roast creamy is utilized as an acceptable substitute. Suddenly I am feeling rather famished and I would love to make an “Elvis”. Sadly, I have no bananas…do you mind if I pilfer one of yours?! Oh yes, the ‘toons are laugh inducing, the memes are amusing and the video is too cute! WHAK!! Thank-you!

I had forgotten about Elvis’ penchant for PB&B sandwiches! And, I have never tried putting mashed bananas on one, but it would make it so much easier to eat! I’ll have mine on honey-wheat bread, though, if it’s all the same to you. And now, you’ve made me hungry too! Sure, take as many bananas as you like, for nobody else seems to be eating them! Glad you enjoyed Jolly Monday, my friend! WHAK!!!

DO NOT FORGET THE BACON!! Peanut butter, banana and BACON!! And, another wee matter of importance regarding construction of “The Elvis”…make sure to spread some softened butter on the outside of both sides of the sandwich prior to grilling. Yumalicious!! WHAK!!

Okay, okay!!! PBB&B it is! However, that is a bit much for me and I will settle for PB&B with my bacon on the side, and on Honey-Wheat bread! Of course I always brush melted butter on the outsides of any sandwich I’m grilling, otherwise it won’t colour properly and will be dry! I usually do them in the skillet, but sometimes I use my panini maker, which makes them just perfect, if only it weren’t such a pain to clean! WHAK!!!

It’s ok…I have some bacon handy here to add to the peanut butter on toast (trust me!) Happy Monday friend!

Oh, that’s good! I’d hate to think of you having bacon withdrawal!!! 😉 Monday is 30 minutes from being over now, but it was a decent day for me … I managed to bake a cake for the neighbors, cook a meal, and vacuum the living room carpet … more than I’ve done in a day for over four months now!

I love peanut butter just about as much as you do. The polar bear video is cute. The tire movie looks hilarious. Thanks for the laughs, and happy Monday!

Do you sometimes nibble on peanut butter straight from the jar? It’s a habit I can’t seem to break! If you watch the tire movie, be sure to let me know what you thought! Who knows … it might have a resurgence just from my post! Happy Monday, my friend!

Peanut butter isn’t basic food to live and survive on? 🤣 Well, the fruit and veggie platters do too. Have a good week despite everything 🤗

Jill, I love pickles and I love peanut butter, but together…? Some tastes need to be kept separate. I did almost spit out my coffee over the ball roll on anti-perspirant one. Have a great week and year. Keith

I’m 100% with you on that, Keith! I cannot imagine pickles and peanut butter together in any way, shape, or form! However, some people might like it, so I included it here. Ha ha … yes, that one made me laugh out loud! Glad you enjoyed the ‘toons today, and best wishes for a great year ahead to you and yours, my friend!

Thanks for the Monday morrning Smiles, however I’m none too keen on the idea that just because I ‘May’ have eaten bacon last week, i can be denied it this week in such a cavalier fashion. Please ensure you reinstate it on Next week’s Menu and allow me to dictate my own dietary needs from that point on.!

There’s a chain of bakeries here that offer bacon baguettes till 11am every day. They’re glorious, but the bacon can be a little hit-and-miss. I like mine crispy, and I’m not drooling right now I promise…
Mind you, some of those salads Jill shared look yum, and this is coming from a proud carnivore…

Yes Jill, that’s not a resalistic suggestion, something I’d expect from a fantasy or horror film.

My pleasure, dear David. ‘May’ have eaten bacon last week? I had to get Joyful to fry up a whole extra rasher after you dropped in! And, I am only thinking of your health … you don’t need all that cholesterol clogging up your arteries. But, since you insist on dictating your own dietary needs, here … have some bacon … 🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓
