Good Monday morning, friends! I almost skipped Jolly Monday because I was so exhausted last night, but Jolly offered to help out more than usual, saying, “Gwammie … EVEWYBODY needs to have somethin’ to laugh ‘bout to start da week!” Realizing he’s right, Joyful fixed me another cuppa coffee and Jolly went in search of ‘toons while I dug up a funny critter video! Meanwhile, Joyful has been a busy beaver in the kitchen this morning, so let’s go see what she’s got for us, shall we?
Mmmmm … that was delectable! Thank you, Joyful!
I had to laugh at this story, as I can so well relate to it!
On Black Friday, Jessica and Nikii Gerson-Neeves bought a blender. It was a Vitamix blender, a professional-grade splurge, and the couple was looking forward to a winter of smoothies and soups.
It arrived on Dec. 16 at their home on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Jessica put the hefty box down on the floor in the kitchen, just for a second. Her 4-year-old tuxedo cat, Max, otherwise known as the “sentient soccer ball,” jumped up on the box. Jessica thought it was funny and snapped a photo.
Then Max’s 13-year-old feline siblings, George: Destroyer of Worlds (“sentient potato”) and Lando Calrissian (“the questionably sentient dust bunny,”), demanded their turn on the knee-high box.
That was three weeks ago. Since then, the cats have refused to leave the box, fighting over who gets to perch upon it and taking turns standing guard while the others eat or are busy elsewhere. The blender remains ensconced inside.
And now, let’s go see what fun ‘toons Jolly found over at Phil’s Phun …
Wait, Gwammie … I found some funny memes, too!
And last, it just wouldn’t be Jolly Monday without a cute animal video, now would it? If you ask me, the Pandas won this round, but then the human was outnumbered by 5-to-1 …
Well, friends, it’s c-c-cold out there today, so be sure to bundle up warm if you must be outside. Don’t forget to share those smiles, and maybe throw in a few kind words if somebody looks like they need them. Have a wonderful week ahead … Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa, Jolly, and Joyful!
I love all of these, lol

Thank you for sharing a part of your world and photos!!.. Always best to look on the “sunny side of life” and it seems that cats can always be amusing in some manner… 🙂
Stay warm and safe and have a wonderful day , every day, filled with joy and love… until we meet again..
May your troubles be less

Ha ha … cats can be amusing or growl-inducing! Ours are both at one time or another! But they always love boxes!
Hope you are warm and safe as well, my friend! Have a great week!

My favourites today? The fainting car, how to defend myself with a box of shells and of course, the cats on the blender. Thank you for the smiles.

I’m so happy that I could start your week out with a few laughs! And yes, cats and boxes … we always have at least one cardboard box in the living room floor for the kitties game of hide-and-seek, and they also got a cardboard train with a scratching board base for Christmas! Spoiled brats! 😺😺😺😺😾

I’m happy to help start your week off with a smile, or even a chuckle! It’s supposed to warm all the way up to 42 on Wednesday or Thursday … a regular heat wave! But, I’m guessing it’s even colder in your neck o’ the woods than in mine! Are you still working from home, or are you back at the office? Either way, stay warm and keep safe, my friend!

Jill , your first story reminds me of our kids opening their first presents and then playing in the boxes. Cats are no different. The Cowardly Lion song comes to mind “If I were king of the forest…..” Keith

Ha ha … I well remember those days! We often wondered if it wouldn’t be simpler (not to mention cheaper) to just buy them a bunch of boxes! Our kitties are much the same and we always have at least one cardboard box on the living room floor for their frequent games of hide-and-seek!

A good laugh Jill, send ice – we’ve had a couple of 113f days 🙂

OH MY!!! 113° is as unbearable to me as our single digit temperatures are! Is there no happy medium anymore? Glad you found a few laughs here, and I will send you some snow and ice post haste!

Well, you boys of summer! Come visit me. We are having a heat wave tomorrow. We “might” hit -29° Celcius. It’s been -30 to -50 since before xmas!
Thanks for the warning, Jill. If we buy a Vitamix (We have actually been discussing it but the price doubled last year!) We will unbox it outside, then bring the box in. The cats can have it!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr … pardon me a minute while I go put on a 2nd sweatshirt! I would know you are colder than us, but that far below zero is unbearable! I’d need a wood heater in every room!
Good idea on unboxing the Vitamix outside! Our kitties are box-crazy too, but they prefer their boxes to be empty so they can play hide-and-seek in them!

Ours are more like the Victoria cats, they possess the boxes as long as they can, and lose them immediately for food, water, or litter box breaks. With six cats it takes a while to get their next turns, and they do not play fair. A box is their Holy Grail, after all.

Food will often lure ours out, as will a glare from one of their fellow-felines!

Happy cold Monday, Jill! As we here are having only around zero degrees, its for us like summer. 😉 The story about Max and his siblings is wonderful. Maybe they have to get another box with some treats. 😉 Have a nice day! xx Michael

We hover between zero (f) and 32° (f), but it always feels cold! Yes, the story about Max et al reminded me so much of our own moggies! They love nothing better than a box! Have a great week, dear Michael! xx
