I found this very powerful poem on one of Roger’s posts a week or so ago and felt it was worthy of being shared far and wide. Thank you, Cyranny … and Roger!
.
How dare you
Wave the flag of Freedom
Over your head…
Crying over rights
You never lost,
Liberties never taken.
You claim to fight
A tyranny that
Doesn’t exists, and
Stomp on the
Very bases of democracy…
How dare you say
You represent
Our country’s might?
Just because
You speak louder,
Doesn’t mean that you’re right!
Thank you for sharing!!… the bottom line is they do not wish to wear a mask nor like to be told what to do, however they are concerned about their image so they create a issue, in this case their personal freedom, to protect their image… unfortunately for them, with the technology today, the universe is watching and seeing them for what they are… should they happen to get sick, they will want to be the first one into the lifeboat… 🙂
Hope you are on the mend and until we meet again…
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life’s passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

Oh yes, for sure! This is why the hospitals are overwhelmed right now, because most of the Covid patients refused to be vaccinated or wear a mask. Where did people get the idea that living in a democracy gives them unlimited freedom to do exactly as they please in every circumstance? Sigh.
My mending process seems to have stagnated. I’m thankful not to have gone backward, but I’m not progressing any more, either. Daughter Chris is going to make a new appointment with the cardiologist since the last one got cancelled by the ice storm we had. Thanks so much for caring and for the beautiful Irish Saying!

In the past, closed minded ideologies were able to find safe haven together (birds of like feather flock together)… with time and change those “safe havens” are slowly being intruded upon and suddenly there are conflicting ideologies confronting one another (especially in the world of religion/faith)… some conflicts are ongoing (Middle East, Ukraine, Africa, etc.) and some are simmering (USA, Ireland, Far East, etc.)… sadly there are many who are willing to compromise, work together, live and let live that are caught in the middle and needlessly suffer… 🙂
Sorry you are not feeling the best.. It may take some time to recover depending on the illness and perhaps some side affects may linger… I know I cannot run, jump and play like I use to, have some issues that I will take to the grave, don’t rebound as quick, but I make adjustments and press on… “The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.” (William Arthur Ward)… 🙂
Until we meet again..
May your troubles be less
Your blessings be more
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door

So true, my friend. It is hard not to lose one’s temper these days and stoop to the level of the “other side”, but I work hard at it. I thought the pandemic would bring people closer, but instead it seems to have divided us further. Ah well … keeps life interesting, albeit stressful.
The issue is with my heart and it isn’t listening to me, it seems. I told it to straighten up and fly right, I take all my medicines as prescribed, but my progress seems to have stagnated. Yes, I have adjusted the sails, but would like to raise them a bit more if possible! Thanks, Dutch, for caring and for the beautiful Irish Saying!

Yes, it is hard to maintain ones composure at times but “Holding on to bitterness is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die” (Author Unknown) and may not be good for the heart… 🙂
The virus, climate change, technology, etc. has opened the doors of reality and exposed the truth behind the illusions created over the centuries by world’s societies in spite of their denial.. A quote from a movie “they can’t handle the truth”… hopefully with today’s technology, people will work together and make this world a better place.. 🙂
Sorry you are dealing with health issues… just need patience to let the body heal (with help) and perhaps may need to make some adjustments as you venture down the path of life.. I have some issues (somewhat minor compared to yours) that comes with the aging process and I have made some adjustments in order to continue down the path… “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain”. (Author Unknown).. 🙂

And that, my friend, is what I often use my blog for … letting go of some of the angst, giving it a vent, without directly attacking or offending. It helps to keep me from spending long, sleepless nights ruminating over the many situations that are angst-provoking.
Thanks, Dutch! Yes, I am 70 years old and most often, until the past 6 months, have thought I was still in my 30s! I have always been active and it really bothers me that simple things like cleaning a bathroom or unloading the dishwasher thoroughly exhaust me. I have gotten some strength back, though, and I no longer have to fear passing out every time I stand up, so I suppose I need to learn patience. Needless to say, patience has never been my strong suit! And so, perhaps I shall dance in the rain for now, and make the storms disappear again one of these days!

Well, I hope you get to running on all 8 cylinders soon, fortunately you can still clean and unload, you just have to make a few changes…. you continue to let your fingers do the walking and your heart do the talking… 🙂
As for me, at 77, I hope I am a good deal wiser than I were at 30, avoid doing anything rash and make changes needed so I can continue to wake up on the green side of the grass.. But, I suspect that in spite of any adjustments I do make, I will still leave this mortal world in the manner described by Mr. Thompson;
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming; “Wow! What a ride!” (Hunter S. Thompson)… 🙂
Take care and until we meet again….

and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life’s passing seasons

I LOVE Mr. Thompson’s quote and that is just how I’ve always lived my life — I LIVE it, doing the things I deem important or that I most enjoy, but never sitting quietly on the sidelines, nor in a spa, nor getting a facelift! Life is for living and that is what I’ve done and am trying to continue doing. The Irish Saying is, as always, beautiful … thank you, dear friend!

Irresponsible, unfettered freedom can only lead to tyranny….
Which is central to Trump’s bombast, but arouses fear in me.

What many of those who are protesting for their “personal freedom” fail to realize is that they, too, will fall victim to that tyranny when and if it happens! Yes, it arouses fear in me, but more so anger.

No no no! They are right. And the more you tell them they’re wrong, the louder they scream they sre right. The tactics of bullies and babies. But they are mostly gone now. As of earlier today only 340 vehicles left in Ottawa from over 4,000. All the border crossing with the USI are opened and flowing again. All the idiots in Alberta who swore they were there to the end gave up and wandered off today. But then, most of the provincial governments gave them most of what they wanted. Did you know Covid is officially over? No more testing, no more social distancing, no more masks for school children. In a few weeks even the mandatory mask rulefo adults will be lifted.
I just want to know, who negotiated this peace with the Covid viruses and variants? What were the terms? And how do our politicians know the viruses were not crossing their fingers behind their backs? This ain’t over till it is over. I have not heard the fat lady sing. (My apologies to Ella)

Well, I’m glad they’ve gone and relative peace can once again reign. It is the same here … the state and federal governments are acting as if Covid is over when we STILL see more than 2,000 deaths per day!!! WTF??? Ah well, I’ll just continue being a hermit for the foreseeable future and let the fools and their lives soon part ways.

Not much else we can do, short of un-brainwashing them, but I am not sure that there to be a brain there to unwashed.
