Another GOP Bottom-Feeder: Carl Paladino

Carl Paladino is running for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives from the state of New York.  Now, there are some I’ve called ‘scum’ and some I’ve called ‘bottom feeders’ and other names, but I don’t have a name vile enough to describe Mr. Paladino, for he is and apparently has always been a real piece of work.  Let’s take a look at some of his most horrendous past issues.

Paladino is the founder of Ellicott Development Co., a company that buys properties, builds stores, and leases them to national retail outlets and government agencies.  His net worth is estimated at a paltry $150 million.  In 2013, Paladino was elected to the school board of Buffalo Public Schools.  But, in 2016 his mouth got him in trouble.  During an interview in December 2016, Paladino was asked what he would like to see happen in 2017.  He responded thusly …

“Obama catches mad cow disease after being caught having relations with a Hereford. He dies before his trial and is buried in a cow pasture next to [then senior White House advisor] Valerie Jarrett, who died weeks prior, after being convicted of sedition and treason, when a Jihady [sic] cell mate mistook her for being a nice person and decapitated her.  Michelle Obama. I’d like her to return to being a male and let loose in the outback of Zimbabwe where she lives comfortably in a cave with Maxie, the gorilla.”

It took the school board nearly a year to oust him, but in August 2017, after numerous calls by other board members as well as then-Governor Andrew Cuomo, he was finally removed from the school board.

Also in 2016, Paladino used Twitter to say that New York Attorney General Loretta Lynch should be lynched, though he later deleted the tweet.  He is also anti-LGBTQ, having said that …

“I just think my children and your children would be much better off and much more successful getting married and raising a family, and I don’t want them brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid and successful option—it isn’t.”

Now, you may think it doesn’t … couldn’t … get much worse than his uber-racist remarks about the Obamas, but hold onto your hats.  Just last year he did a radio interview whereby he praised former German Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, saying …

“I was thinking the other day about somebody had mentioned on the radio Adolf Hitler and how he aroused the crowds. And he would get up there screaming these epithets and these people were just — they were hypnotized by him. That’s, I guess, I guess that’s the kind of leader we need today. We need somebody inspirational. We need somebody that is a doer, has been there and done it, so that it’s not a strange new world to him.”

Elise Stefanik, who replaced Liz Cheney as the GOP’s third in command in the House of Representatives, has supported Paladino and says his remarks are “taken out of context.”  There are numerous other things I could tell you about the person Carl Paladino is, but these are among the worst and I think give you a good enough idea that this is NOT the sort of person we need sitting in our Congress, making the laws under which we will all be forced to live.  This, my friends, is the sort of scum the Republican Party is sending our way.  Are the voters going to be appalled and refuse to vote for creeps like Paladino?  I wish I were more confident of that, but … they haven’t shown us their better angels yet.

  1. Getting so that, he’s just another White Republican In A Panic…I’ve even forgotten his name already…..
    So obviously a racist a soiled his trousers when ‘One of those people’ were elected into the Whitehouse.
    One word for him, regarding Hitler…

  3. Funny that he should equate Hitler with someone has has “been there, done things,” etc. when Hitler hadn’t really done anything. He was simply a hater that used that hate to garner support from the average German to leverage into office. We all know what happened after that…..I guess Pala-Dino must have forgotten. He looks old enough to have been there.

    • Agreed on all counts! Even among the young … one of our Representatives in his 20s has a Hitler adoration … the reality, the history and facts, seem to have faded into the background and now some view him as a competent human being. He was neither.

  4. I don’t remember a name, might have been this dude, but someone was saying what the Repugs need is someone who can public speak like Adolphe Hitler. Sounded like he woild have peed in his pants if Hitler came back to life.

    • Time and distance seem to have dulled the memories of just how wicked Hitler was. For some, anyway. Some seem to nowadays consider him a sort of … icon. Sigh. Fools.

  7. We might see how low if any of PalADINO’S children ever come out as gay. Will he accept them or send them to be reconverted by the church? Only a man so jealous of President OBAMA Could be so bitter about him , or a man who just likes the empty sound of his own voice.

    • Oh yes, that would be the ultimate irony, wouldn’t it? I suspect they would be afraid to tell him! He is, I think, a bitter old man, but he damn sure does NOT belong in Congress! Hopefully, the people of his district in NY can see that.

This is like the political party that currently rules over where I’m living in is like exactly, they talk trash about their oppositions, they don’t have thd best interest of the people in mind, and, they’re, banking on that we, the majority of voters, still aupport their beliefs, and, it’s due to the people’s, giving the political party, totalitarian rule over us. And, thd defamation, the trash talks, continue…

    • So, the question is for both your country and mine, how do we change this? How do we hold them accountable to We the People? There must be a way. Yes, it’s simple enough to say we oust them with our votes, but here, the right to vote is being infringed on in a major way, and in addition, far too many people are apathetic, thinking that their vote is only one and how much difference can one person make? But, what if Martin Luther King, or Gandhi or some of the other great movers and shakers had thought that way?

  9. The GOP already got as low as you can get when they hitched their dung wagon to Trump and became oblivious to the stench, as did the millions of those he led by the nose into the morass/….and they will take the rest of us down with them if they’re not stopped.

    • I just don’t understand how Trump has literally commandeered the entire Republican Party. What am I missing here? He isn’t intelligent, contrary to his claims. He has no charisma. He’s a bully and a juvenile delinquent who whines, pouts, and threatens when he doesn’t get his way. What … WHAT is there to like? The only answer I can come up with is that all these decades, the Republican Party has been biding its time, waiting for just the right character and opportunity to turn the republic into a dictatorship. But why? Sigh. You’re right, though, they have gone to a new low, have redefined the meaning of corruption.

      • I’ll just add that, as old as I am, I can’t believe how naive I was just a few years ago (pre-Trump) about the true character of the American people. Not only are we not the “shining city on the hill” we thought we are, we’re not above ANYONE — in some ways, we’re arrogantly and/or ignorantly worse. If nothing else, Trump has at least done us the favor of showing us who we really are….and it’s pretty damn ugly..

I used to think that most all people were more good than bad, and that when the chips were down, the people of this nation would rally, would come together for the good of all. Boy, was I ever wrong!!! Yep, the face of much of this nation is damned ugly.

  12. I think the GOP took the term “friend in low places” very literally. They are all becoming seedy little rats who do more harm than good. I hope NY stands up against this fool.

    • I think you’re right! Even the ones who I thought were at the very least honest, are proving to be more dedicated to the GOP, to Trump, and to their wealthy donors than to We the People. I’ve written a letter to four such assholes that is to be my morning post today. Sigh.
