Good Monday morning, my friends! I bet you guys just can’t wait to dive into another week at the salt mines … or wherever you work! My poor daughter is the head of her department at work and 7 of her staff have called off this weekend – all tested positive for Covid! I told her I’d fire every one of them, for no doubt they’ve been going around without masks, not taking any precautions. She said it’s probably a good thing I’m no longer a manager … she’s probably right, for the older I get, the less tolerance I have for stupidity. But anyway, since it’s Monday, let’s start the week with something to make us smile, or maybe even chuckle, shall we? Let’s start by checking out what Joyful has been up to in the kitchen … something sure smells good!
I was playin’ around, twyin’ to make da food look cute!
Jolly says he’s still working on the ‘toons, so let’s start with a few sunny fighns … I mean, funny signs!
Okay … I think I’m weady now! I gots so many toons I gots to save some for next week!
Joyful came across some cute/funny animal memes recently …
I just had to share this one meme with you guys …
And last, but never least, it’s time for a cute critter video!
We really hope you’ve found a few smiles here, and that you’ll share them with others as you go through the week and see people without one! Keep safe and have a great week, friends! Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa, Jolly ‘n Joyful!
THANKS, great fun, love the groundhogs.

I’m so glad! Yes, I had looked at 3-4 animal videos, but none of them really made me grin … until this one, and I was in love with the groundhogs!

Some people are so talented with food decorations. I get into too much of a hurry and frustrated to do the detail stuff. Plus we have an issue with baked goods, they don’t survive long enough after coming out of the oven to decorate, we both love them warm and fresh. Back when I used to bake a lot, I had to do double batches because we would eat almost all the ones taken out of the oven while we were cooking the next ones. Grand post Jill. Hugs

Heck, I couldn’t do anything like that either! I don’t have the steadiness of hand, nor the patience! We are the same here … chocolate chip cookies barely make it to the cooling rack before they are attacked! 😉 Glad you enjoyed Jolly Monday and I hope you have a great week ahead! Hugs

Ha ha ha … Mission Accomplished! 😉 Just kidding, but hey, there are worse songs you could have stuck in your head, yes? I’m glad you enjoyed Jolly Monday! Have a great week ahead, my friend!

Sounds like your daughters week is not off to a jolly start! I hope that she herself did not catch it and that she’s able to be productive despite the staffing shortage. Hope your week is less disruptive.

No, it will no doubt be stressful for her. That’s a concern, too, for there is no way that Natasha (my granddaughter) and I wouldn’t get it if Chris did … we have a small townhouse with nowhere to isolate. But, Chris has never stopped wearing her mask and she takes every possible precaution, so … fingers crossed. I hope you guys have a great week, too!!!

Jill, I think I will pass on the beef jerky at the Funeral home, but I love the watermelon pig. Keith

Ha ha … yeah, I wasn’t keen on that idea either, but the watermelon pig has much more appeal, especially in this hot weather!

Firing staff for getting covid is well over the top! Masks and vaccinations reduce the likelihood of the virus being passed on. It doesn’t prevent it being passed on.

Sigh. I know, Barry … I was mostly blowing off steam. But in truth, her staff did stop wearing masks (except at work, where it is required, since it is a medical facility), as has most everybody in this country. She’s in for a rough week, having to do the work of at least 8 people, and she already works 12+ hours a day! People in this country flout the precautions, they take pride in being too stubborn to get vaccinated and wear a mask. In my book, they deserve what they get, but then they make life harder for the few of us who are cautious. Sigh.

Look on the bright side (aka ‘You’re reaching there fellah’)- At least your daughter’s staff admit the existence of Covid, so might not be MAGA-ites.😔>
Send her my best wishes…been there.🌸💮🌹🌻🌼🌷

Yep, you had to really stretch to find that one! But, in fact, she tells me that a large portion of her staff are, in fact, magites (which, if you think about it, sounds somewhat like ‘maggots’ … hmmmm).
I will give her your message and the flowers … I’m sure she’s in for a rough week! Thanks, Roger!

Magites…….
She has my deepest sympathies. To keep all that together your daughter has to be a saint.

My daughter is, indeed, a saint … after all, she puts up with me! She texted me at midday yesterday to tell me that so far she wasn’t crying … and it made me want to cry. But, she’s tough when she needs to be, although a much gentler soul than I am.

Happy Monday, Jill! It’s sad to hear about the happenings at your daughter’s departement. Are you sure they had not worn masks? As i read last week the virus can last on frozen meat for over 24 hours. So anything is possible. xx Michael

Persistent little devils – viruses. They will find a way to survive.

Thanks, Michael! I would bet money that they gave up their mask-wearing months ago, for almost nobody is wearing them anymore, and I believe they were even arguing against the company mask policy. Yes, anything is possible, but I think that taking precautions, especially if you work in the healthcare industry as these people do, is an obligation, not a choice. Sigh. xx
