We did have an overnight in the 70s. Highs are in the 90s which is like a cool situation for us. Thanks for asking. Looks like the 100s are over. 😁

I’m glad for that! It was almost chilly here for a few days with highs only in the low 70s, but it’s working its way back up this week.

It does tend to do that, Jill. 😁

Jill, too funny. Seeing the “Honey” one, a wife wrote into Dear Abby once and said “I don’t think my husband knows my name; he calls me Honey all the time.” Keith

Ha ha … that IS funny, because back when I was married, I worried if he called me “Jill” because I knew that meant he wasn’t happy with me. When I was in his good graces, I was honey, babe, or sweetie!

Very touching the way two orphans Wally & Buggy bonded, a lesson for us all there.
Ned Thompson says what most of us would have been thinking- that cartoon is going to stick around for a while.
Thanks Jill

Indeed, that was my first thought when I saw the Wally & Buggy video … what a lesson for humans! We could, I think, learn many lessons from the animal kingdom! I’m glad you enjoyed it, Sir Roger, and I hope you and Sheila are enjoying your vacation!!!

Yeah, ’bout the vacation Jill, glad you brought that up.
Half-way there our car’s dashboard warning signals started flashing. We nursed her into a service station. Through our insurance a mechanic came out, did a diagnostic- cut a long story short there was a problem he could not fix permanently only a temp one which would not last; engine could cut out at any stage. So also through our insurance we were taken back home. Our ‘Dolly’ secured on the flat bed of a recovery wagon and us sitting in comfy seats in the back of the cab, high up and in style.
We have an option to take another break, through the same place, and will probably opt for the spring of next year.
Meanwhile re-group after the time and effort we invested in getting ready for the self-catering holiday.
We’re approaching it through the half-full glass method.

OH ROGER!!!! I am so so sorry about the car and your trip! I was telling David just last night in our nightly letter that I was so happy you and Sheila got to go this year after the last couple of pandemic years. I envisioned you guys having almost a 2nd honeymoon. Sigh. I nearly cried reading about the car troubles. My fingers are crossed for better luck next spring, but that seems so far away. Yep, the ‘glass half full’ view is the only way, otherwise you’ll be sad and bitter. Next year for sure!!!

Thanks for your kind thoughts Jill
Though effluent happens and our was small stuff in comparison. Though currently I feel knocked sideways, in a physical way, which is freaky because in the scheme of things of what folk go through…no big shakes.
We’ll go next May now, get other stuff out of the way in the meantime.❄️🌼👍

I do hope you’re not getting sick! Please keep me posted … you are family and you mean so much to me.
Next May will be good … hopefully it won’t be too hot then. Give my love to your wonderful wife!!!

We’ll be ok. We’ll just keep on truckin’

Yep, ’tis all any of us can do. Today, I am very concerned for your Queen 😔. She is the best example I know of what a world leader should be, and few live up to her standard. I hope she rebounds … fingers crossed.

Within moments of me typing that comment, I received breaking news that the Queen has died. I have tears running down my face. My heart goes out to you guys, for I know she was much beloved. 💔

Thanks Jill.
I guess most folk in the UK watching the first breaking news had a fair idea of how the day would end.
As with Lincoln. Elizabeth II now belongs to the ages.

Ooooh no way. ‘Dolly’ is part of the family. Sheila has very strong views about that🚗🤗.
We have a service contract which means body and engine are together and this glitch hopefully will not be a game changer

Haha … and I thought I was the only one that formed such an attachment to my vehicles! I nearly cried when we donated Socrates the Van to charity a couple of years ago, but I just couldn’t rely on him. Then I inherited Chris’ Saturn, which is Greta (after Greta Thunberg, of course). Well, I’ve got my fingers crossed that Dolly can be repaired fairly easily and inexpensively!

Socrates the Van- I love that!🛻🤗.
We get letters from the company we bought Dolly from asking if we would like to part exchange and get quite annoyed…..but only whisper about them, in case Dolly 🚗 over-hears – perish the thought!

Ha ha … I am the same! I talk to my vehicles. Socrates always wanted me to park him next to some “hot” sports car, while Greta prefers being next to black SUVs. And I pat her dashboard and tell her what a good girl she is!
