A funny story about this one … I last played it in 2019, so I was happy tonight that it met my self-imposed criteria for a redux, but … I was a bit puzzled by the title … something seemed not quite right.  So, I went looking for info and … well … when I played it in 2019, I had the title wrong!  I had it as “If Ever I’m In Your Arms Again” … when in reality it is “If Ever You’re In My Arms Again”.  And nobody caught that back in 2019!  Not even my friend Ellen caught it, and she was my music expert!  Nobody!  See, I even found it on Google … third one from the top …

Anyway, tonight I once again bring you the talented, sexy, knock-out voiced Peabo Bryson!

Released in 1984 as a single from his album Straight from the Heart, the single peaked at #6 on the R&B chart and was Bryson’s first Top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it peaked at #10 during the summer of 1984.  Other than that, though, I find no trivia about the song, and one of my best usual sources, SongFacts, doesn’t even know who Peabo Bryson is!  So, you’ll have to settle for just listening to the music tonight.

  5. Funny. I can’t hear it. I hit the Play button and nothing happens. It just sits there, dead as a doornail. But reading the lyrics reminds we of what Joni Mitchell sang a long time ago, “You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone…” I cannot say I regret any of my break-ups, because they always led to meeting new loves. But do I wish some break-ups had never happened? I would be lieing if I said no.

    • The world of music would be horribly boring if we all had the same tastes! Yep, when I first decided to do the daily music posts, I said that I would play music I liked and hoped that some of my readers would enjoy as well. Every now and then I step outside my comfort zone and play something at someone’s suggestion — usually Clive’s — but mostly I play what I like and let the chips fall where they may! Hopefully I’ll hit on something you like soon!
