One of the people whose words I often share here is Robert Reich.  There’s a reason for that … Mr. Reich’s credentials would take this entire post to list, but suffice it to say he served under Presidents Ford, Carter, Clinton and Obama, and he is one of the most intelligent and knowledgeable men I know, yet he can explain things in a way that we can all understand.  So here we are, two days before this highly-charged, contentious mid-term election, and Robert Reich has some words of wisdom that he has asked those of us who receive his newsletter to share.  Please take just 4 minutes to watch his video, and as he asks, share it with others if you feel so inclined.

In these last exhausting days before the midterm elections of 2022, I thought you might find useful this inquiry into the lies Republican candidates are telling which I and my colleagues at Inequality Media have been circulating.

You see, the so-called “issues” Republicans are focusing on — inflation, taxes, and crime — are not really issues at all. Get below the rhetoric and look at the facts, and these “issues” have been concocted out of nothing.

Yet the media continues to report that these so-called “issues” are gaining traction with voters.

I’m sending you the attached video in hopes you will share with others. At this point, every voter we can reach with the truth is one additional potential vote for decency and democracy.

  1. Saw the 60 Minutes thing about social media and the election yesterday, streaming it mid-afternoon. They went to Arizona and covered the candidates and GOP ‘leaders’ who insist the 2020 election was rigged or stolen. One man held out that votes in the primary, I believe they were three, where women picked up ballots and dropped them off for people who weren’t family, was evidence of widespread national fraud. This man had no other evidence and refused to see or accept all the evidence showing how safe and secure the elections were. His mind was made up. So, while I applaud Frank Reich and his message, and I admire him, we’re dealing with some steadfast idiots in this matter. Thanks for spreading the word, Jill. Hugs and cheers, as always. M

    • Sometimes I think that the biggest threat to humanity is … humans! Our education system seems to be wildly failing, and the Republicans would like to scale it back a few more notches. Twenty years from now, there won’t be a person in the nation who can read a book, think for themselves, or balance a checkbook! Yeah, we ARE dealing with some bloody idiots, but I still think there are more … at least for now … who are intelligent and possessed of common sense. Hugs ‘n cheers, dear Michael!!!

    • Hah! I’m not surprised … it was a great video! You did beat me, but I had mine on the schedule this morning for 3:00 p.m. 😉 As you said, the more who see it, the better. I’m half tempted to post it again today!
