Mine is a socio-political blog, more political than socio, and it is 90%+ a dark place filled with tales of corruption, violence, and the angst that exists ‘round the globe. But every now and then my mind acts as a lawman, saying, “Step back, hands over your head, step back slowly ma’am, away from the rabbit hole …” And when that happens, I go visit Sally and Debby over at Smorgasbord where I am sure to restore my balance and sense of humour. Their “Laughter is the Best Medicine” post today brought a chuckle from somewhere deep within me and I think it will do the same for you! Thank you, Sally & Debby! You’re lifesavers!
Firstly, some funnies from Debby Gies followed by a joke or two from Sally. Thanks to those who share the funnies on the internet.
D.G. Writes is where you will find an archive full of wonderful posts across several subjects including writing tips, social issues and book reviews. My thanks to Debby for excellent foraging

Great share Jill! The Turkey & Wine reminds of a MAD magazine take on Robinson Crusoe who goes to the ship wreck to get wood to build his hut, and finds a barrel of rum…’To fortify myself in my task I took a cup of rum’….a little later that changes to ‘I rum a cup of took’ and so on…..

Glad to provide chuckles, Roger … well, actually it was Sally & Debby who provided them! Yeah, I loved that one and would have enjoyed the MAD magazine piece too … a fairly common theme! Thing is, I talk that way even when perfectly sober!!! I think I’m somewhat dyslexic, for I’m always mixing up my words!

Folk getting their ‘Nung in a tott’ (as Sheila calls it) is a fairly frequent happenstance Jill
Check out bloopers or outtakes on films….or those interludes when ordinary folk say something all wrong and it’s been recorded!

🤣 “Nung in a tott” … I LOVE that!!! I shall use it … tell Sheila I said “Thank you!!!” My ‘nung’ is often tied in a ‘tott’! My mind is clear on what I’m saying, but by the time it gets to my mouth, my nung is in a tott!!! Luckily, nobody ever figures my words to be worthy of recording, so there is no hard proof! 🤣

These days I have that problem when writing! (What’s with this WP delay, all your notifications are back-dated as 24 hrs?)

Yeah, that’s why I proofread mine twice, and still I sometimes miss one! I don’t know what WP is up to! Is it only mine that the notifications are delayed, or others as well?

Nope! There was a 24hr delay on yours to me, and I didn’t see hide not hair of ’em yesterday.
