Good morning, friends! Well, that certainly was a short long weekend, wasn’t it?
Daughter Chris had 4 days off, but it seemed like far less. Still, I’m glad Thanksgiving is behind us and I just wish Christmas was also in the rearview mirror. I used to love the holidays, but not so much anymore. I’ve become a creature of routine and the holidays shatter my routine and exhaust both me and my paltry bank account. Anyway, Monday is here, and we will try to switch from weekend mode to work-week mode with a bit of fun and some chuckles. Meanwhile, though, Joyful has whipped up some goodies, so grab a plate and let’s go in search of humour to start the day!

With each passing year, the joy of the holidays grows a bit dimmer for me. More work than pleasure and I’m usually happy to put them behind me. I tried to talk my girls into skipping Christmas, but as you can imagine, no dice! 🎄

I always thought it was unfair the US got two days off for Thanksgiving and we got one. 😆 Hope you had a good holiday and happy back to Monday!

Well, we have to do something to compensate ourselves for celebrating it on the wrong day, as another Canadian friend, Emily, tells me! 🤣 We had a really good holiday, and I’m happy to be back into the Monday routine! Funny how one’s attitude toward Monday changes after one retires!

It’s the placing of the small mouse in the corner of the strip that’s the cartoonist’s skill..
You focus on the two cats and the chessboard, which are central images, then the commentary and then the mouse -build up and- visual punchline! 😄
