This week there were a number of easy targets for the talented cartoonists, including Elon Musk, Kyrsten Sinema, Kevin McCarthy, the former guy, and more. The cartoonists picked up those balls and ran with them and, as usual, our friend TokyoSand over at Political Charge was in line to catch them! Thank you, TS!!!
How ironic that the deeper we get into the holiday season, the more the news is covering the antics of incredibly selfish people. Check out how editorial cartoonists covered the likes of Kyrsten Sinema, Trump, and Elon Musk.
Perfect cartoons. I had a chuckle when I heard them announce on TV Sinful changed her party affiliation – CONVENIENTLY before next elections begin because no Dem would vote for her again. Now she’ll still be a spoiler because her independent votes will suck out some democratic votes. Hey, a prime example of a sadly called Senator for their soul purpose of greed and ME syndrome, without a thought of anything good for ‘the people’. xx

Glad you enjoyed the ‘toons! Yes, ol’ Marge knew she couldn’t win the Democratic primary in two years, so instead she decided to dilute the vote and ensure that a Republican will likely take her seat in 2024. Isn’t it nice to know how seriously they take their oaths? xx

Elon Musk is such a joke but also a dangerous joke. What he’s doing with Twitter is quite appalling. I did finally delete my account and in a few days it’ll be officially passed the 30-day period when it’ll be gone forever.

Indeed he is!!! Banning journalists who have written about him, then re-instating them. Refusing to pay his rent and trying to find a way to weasel out of paying severance pay to all those people he fired for no reason. I am told that he is very intelligent — a genius, they say — but in my book he doesn’t seem to even have a functional brain! I suspect Twitter will die an untimely death within the coming year.

Seems like the toons are right on target! Sometimes when times are tough we need to put a twisted look on what is happening in the world. I am sure that the founding fathers of this great and blessed nation we are blessed to live in are rolling in their graves. The “right” side of the park is making a mockery of our constitution and what our country was founded on guiding principals. This country is sick. President Biden, we are blessed to have him and his many years of experience to make us well again. The road that trump started to lead us down scared the heck out of me. President Biden was our light. God bless him and protect him.

Indeed, I have often said that the Founding Fathers must be rolling in their graves, tormented by the ways in which their ideas and words have been twisted and interpreted. I agree that we should be thankful to have President Biden in the White House … and I DO feel safer knowing that he is there, but the forces that gave Trump carte blanche to do his evil are still here and are determined to make a mockery of what was once a decent country.

Frankly, I will be glad when the holidays are over … I’m a creature of routine, for one thing, but for another I just don’t feel much holiday spirit this year, but feel like I have to put on that happy face for the sake of the girls. So … 😊

It’s fine. I understand the feeling. So much sh.t going on everywhere, concerns for one’s childrens and grandkids… What world will they live in? But, but… Let their smiles win you over… 😀

I’m trying, Brian … I just feel so … hopeless.

You’re not the only one. It seems the majority don’t realize what’s going on. And a few have wide-open eyes, can’t believe what’s going on. If it weren’t for Biden pouring weapons into Ukraine, I suspect P*tin woud already have invaded Poland and the Baltic states. But nobody seems to care…
Anyway. One thing at a time. Enjoy Christmas, then get back on your feet healthwise…

It is a crazy world we’re living in, not only here in the U.S., but in many places. You’re right … Putin had the idea of quickly conquering Ukraine, then moving into Poland and other nations in hopes of re-creating a Soviet-style empire. The passion of the Ukrainian people and Zelenskyy surprised him and slowed him, thankfully. And you’re right … too many people shrug their shoulders and say, “Oh well … it doesn’t affect me”, but it does. Sigh. I shall try to enjoy the holidays, dear friend, and then hopefully get some energy back!

Thanks.
Best to move it to January. Getting procedures right now is probably not the best time… Enjoy December…

Agreed … now is not the time! I’m just hoping that our winter is not as severe as is currently predicted, else it may end up not happening until spring. We’re expecting a blizzard late this week with sub-zero temperatures! If you long for a white Christmas, feel free to come for a visit! And by the way, Merry Christmas to you and your family, my friend!

Blizzard? Complete with wolves? 😉
Merry Christmas to you and yours too… 🤗

Probably no wolves, but snow, wind, and sub-zero temperatures. Or maybe not, for the Weather Channel says one thing, and the local news says another. Best to be prepared, though, so I’ll be finishing up my stocking shopping today and picking up my grocery order on Thursday, and then I can hibernate! 🤗

Our electric company sent an email today telling us to expect power outages on Friday when the temperatures will be around 0° F. That worries me. I’m not sure how to prepare for that, other than make sure all the blankets in the house are clean!

Power outages? Jesus! And 0F is quite low. Do you have sleeping bags? And/or a fireplace? (I’m sure your blankets are clean. You seem to be very “picky” about your laundry… 😉

Three hours ago it was 45° F, and now it is 5° F, with about 3 inches of snow on the ground. Luckily, the wind isn’t as strong as they predicted, so I think that for the moment we’re going to still have electricity in the morning. I have left the water dripping in the kitchen, though, in hopes of preventing frozen pipes! No sleeping bags, no kerosene heater … just blankets. I think we’ll be okay, though. (Yeah, I AM a bit picky about laundry … just ask the girls … they don’t even TRY to fold towels to suit me any more! 🤣)

Faucets dripping, of course. I’d forgotten that. And I understand you have a folding technique of your own… Merry Christmas.

🎅 And to you as well, my friend! The temperature rose to a whopping 14° F today … a regular heat wave! Enjoy your Christmas and set aside all the troubles for a day! I hope to!

Hopefully yes… (Can you believe your cold wave reached us all the way down here? Temps are about 10C below average)

WOW! That was some powerful storm system! And it started on the first day of winter … I hope this isn’t a sign of how the whole winter is going to be, else I may just have to come down and visit you until about April!

Hopefully temps will go back up again…
