Good first-Monday-of-2023 my friends! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are ready to delve back into the routine today! While I enjoyed the holidays, I am more than ready to get back into the routine, finish off the leftovers, put my kitchen back to some semblance of order, etc. I’m a creature of routine and the smallest deviation throws me off in nearly every way. As Joyful, Jolly and I are all fairly exhausted this morning, we sent Jolly out for donuts and coffee, but Joyful did fry up some bacon, because we promised our bacon-lovers last week that after a 2-week dry spell, we would have bacon for them this week! So, grab a donut, some bacon, and a nice hot cuppa and let’s see if we can find some fun to start off the week!
Here are a few funny signs we found …
Naturally, the highlight of Jolly Monday is the cartoons …
And just a few memes …
I sent Jolly in search of a cute or funny animal video for today’s Jolly Monday … let’s see what he came up with …
Well, friends, another Monday morn has come and gone and now it’s time for us all to get back to the daily routine. Chris is out of town on business this week, so it’s just Miss Goose and I … we will be taking down Christmas decorations and cleaning and putting the house back to some sort of order! Wish us luck! I hope you all have a safe and happy week ahead, and please do remember to share those lovely smiles … something as simple as a smile can sometimes mean so much to a person. Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa, Jolly and Joyful!
Thanks for the bacon and the great toons!

My three favorite things: donuts, bacon and coffee! Ha! Great cartoons, as well! Laughter is a good way to start a new year! Happy New Year, Jill!

Wow … I’m glad I managed to hit all three!!! Yes, laughter is a good way to start the new year, or even a day! Without humour, we are lost! Happy New Year to you, Anita … I hope it is a wonderful one for you!

And Happy New Year to you, as well, my good friend! Yeah, I liked that one, too! Clive especially liked the Mariah Carey one, as he is definitely not a fan of hers!

Plenty of smiles here, Jill, and I need those right now. I actually used that Mariah Carey one as the lead image for a Tuesday Tunes post a while back. Great minds…

I’m glad to know that you found a few smiles here today! Well, yesterday, as it happens. Heh heh … I immediately thought of you when I saw that Mariah Carey one!!! Yes, great minds think alike! I suppose you feel much the same about Whitney Houston as you do about Mariah? So okay … since you are in need of a smile or two … I’ll tell you the dumb thing I did today! Last night, Natasha fried some potato croquettes, and since our garbage disposer doesn’t work at the moment, she poured the used cooking oil into an empty gallon water jug to take to the trash later. This morning, I got up and the Keurig coffee pot was in need of water, so being still half asleep, I poured that used cooking oil right into the water reservoir in the coffee pot! Oops! Hopefully that gave you a smile or a chuckle. Hang in, Clive, and I’m thinking of you, my friend.

Yes, Whitney is in the same category for me: I don’t like screeching diva music! Who will be buying the new coffee pot?

No new pot needed. It has a removable reservoir, which is where I poured the oil, and luckily I didn’t try to brew a cuppa, else I WOULD be getting the spare pot out of the shed and tossing this one. A good old-fashioned washing made it good as new again!

Nothing to do with your post, Jill, but you have more readers than I (by one or two thousand!).
I just got a like from an itechtonicdotcom (.) This website is a phishing site, if not a direct scam site. DO NOT CLICK ON IT! Please!

If I got one from that site, it went to Spam and I clear out my spam folder daily, so no worries. Very few actually get past akismet!

It got as far as my comments list. I like to look at the home blogs of new readers. This one was very weird.

This year at least xmas trees should stay up at least until Unkrainian xmas, to show solidarity against Putin the decorations away too soon.
With those words I declare this collection of signs and cartoons your best ever! Too bad there was no tea to sip with them…

Too late … tree has been returned to the farm from whence it came to be re-planted … it was begging for fresh air. However, I do stand with Ukraine, and I DO still have the lights up around the window … does that count?
Wow … that’s quite a declaration from you! Thanks! I’m really glad you enjoyed them, and … oops, sorry about the tea! Next week, I promise!

Lights around the window will do. Glad to hear you are using live trees, though I wonder if it is good to uproot them for even a short while?
