Good morning friends!!! C’mon in where it’s warm! Well, relatively warm, anyway. We don’t keep it super-warm, for we don’t like those extra-large electric/gas bills, and we are trying to do our part for the environment by being conscientious. How was your weekend? Ours was quiet, except for all the coughing, sneezing, and nose-blowing, as all three of us have colds. Joyful and I cooked up just a few treats this morning, while Jolly organized the ‘toons and such, so head on over to the table for a snack and then we’ll see what Jolly has for us to start the week with a smile!
We’ll get to the ‘toons in a minute, but I came across something that made me smile, and I hope it will make you smile, too. A nine-year-old boy, David Balogun from Pennsylvania, just earned his high school diploma, something most of us don’t do until we are twice his age! David has also already earned some college credits and he plans to become an astrophysicist!
If you’re interested, you can read more about David and his achievements at The Guardian!
Let’s start the morning with some animal memes, ‘k?
A few funny signs might give you a chuckle or two …
And now … on to the ‘TOONS!!!
And now for that cute/funny animal video! I just love this one about a determined dog named Gus!
Well, friends, that’s a wrap for this Monday morning! We hope you enjoyed the snacks and the humour, hope you are leaving with a big smile on your faces! Be sure to share those smiles in the days ahead, for there are a lot of people who don’t have one of their own. Keep warm and safe this week! Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa, Jolly, and Joyful!
Thanks for the chuckles…Happy Monday!!

At 9 I too was planning on becoming an astrophysicist (really! ) But then I grew up, andbecame a Hippie instead. The pay wasn’t so good, but the personal sat8sfaction wasntremendous! And, I was my own boss!

Yeah … and I probably wouldn’t have liked you as much had you been an astrophysicist. Well, actually, I probably wouldn’t know you at all in that case!

Probably not. I would likely have died of ulcers or something!

We’d all like an indoor pool, right? You go, Gus! The animal memes are great, too, especially “feed the cat.”

I LOVED Gus’ determination … he never gave up! And … seems to me he was a bit smarter than his human, who didn’t even think to close the door! Glad you enjoyed Jolly Monday, and I hope you have a great week ahead!

Wow, that boy already looks like a sponge of interest and so full of life!
Gosh, and your jokes are so funny. I am amazed by your fantastic collection every week 😂

I know!!! I couldn’t help being impressed by what he has accomplished, but he looks like such a happy, energetic, eager kid! I think he’ll go far in life!
Awwww … thank you, Erika! I’m glad to have helped start your week with a smile! Have a great week, my friend!

Yes, exaclty. Sometimes parents want to make their kids become what they could not. But this boy seems to simply go his way. It is a joy to look into his smiling face.
You always do, Jill. You bring a lot of chuckles to my Mondays. Thank you for that 😊

I know someone exactly like that! He forces his young son to play ball, even though the kid hates it … why? Because he always wanted to play ball, but didn’t get the opportunity. The child cries and tries his best to get out of having to go to practice, but the father stands firm. Makes me want to smack some sense into him!

OMG, this is heartbreaking. I can so feel with that child. Hopefully, the father recognizes his attitude soon…

Not likely. The grandmother, my friend, tried to step in and was told to either butt out or lose her privileges to visit, so she is now silent. The mother … she goes along with whatever the father wants. It IS heartbreaking.

Oh, no, heartbreaking for everyone who sees through this all.

Jill, nicely done. Picking one, I love the one about filling out an application if you are out of patience. I like the dual names of the German Shepherd as well. Too funny. Keith

We’ll don’t we all feel like slackers compared to the 9-year-old? 😆 Pour us more coffee, Jill. Jokes aside, that’s great. I love reading these feel-good inspirational stories.

You’ve got to give Gus his due. Persistent and inventive.
And I am reassured by the Middle Aged Chicken one (Just like the blog posted heading ‘What Am I doing upstairs?’.
Titwobble is in Australia, so we have to make allowances.
Thanks again Jill for the invaluable supply of chuckles.

Oh heck yeah — ol’ Gus is one smart pup!!! Smarter, obviously, than his human companion who did not have the sense to close the door!
Yeah, I can well relate to the middle-aged chicken, too. Someday I’ll think I’m in the wrong house and wander off, then they’ll be putting my face on the evening news as yet another of those seniors to “be on the lookout” for. 🤣
Ahhhh …. I had no idea where Titwobble was … now it all makes sense! Glad you found some chuckles here this morning!

I think those folks of Gus’ were just paralysed in fascination at his antics. Never a dull moment with him around I’m guessing.
With a guise like that Jill you could sock the former occupant of the Whitehouse right in the face and say ‘What? I thought it was a big ol’ nasty fly’ 😃

Yeah, probably so! He is one determined pup!
His face reminds me more of the stuff that flies like to land on in a cow pasture!

Oh you just made me chuckle with Gus….. if I were his owner, I would have closed the door quite a moment earlier! But the vid was obviously worth the damage (new pup bath and cleaning up the house…)
Brill. Start of the new week. Thank you very much my friend.

I’m so glad!!! Yes, Gus actually made me laugh aloud, and when he finally got the pool into the house, I gave him a high-five and said, “Way to go, Gus!!!”
I’m glad to have helped you start the week with a chuckle! Have a great week ahead, dear friend!
