Mondays Are For Jollyness And Joyfulness!

Wh-Wha-WHAT???  It’s Monday again???  Already?  Wh-where did the weekend go?  Sheesh … the days keep getting shorter and shorter!  Well, welcome to Monday … since it’s here, we’ll just have to make the best of it, won’t we?  On that note, let’s go see what Joyful has cooked up this morning, and then we’ll go in search of some fun things to start the week on the right foot!

I hope you guys are in the mood for some … PIZZA this morning, ’cause that’s what I’ve been workin’ on all morning long!  Gwammie likes hers with pineapple … do you?

Our friend Larry has been AWOL for a year or so, thanks to WordPress glitches, but he’s baaaaccckkk now, and so in honour of perhaps our biggest bacon lover, we found a few new bacon memes!

Who’s in the mood for some funny puns?

I been over at Phil’s place over da weekend an’ found a bunch of funny ‘toons to make you laugh!

And just a few fun memes …

Today’s cute critter video is a bit different than most, but guaranteed to make you laugh!

Well, friends, it’s that time again.  We hope you are leaving with a smile on your face and a bit of joy in your heart.  Please keep safe and warm this week, and take a few extra smiles from the basket to share with others!  Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa, Jolly, and Joyful!

  1. This is just what I need today. I’m just not sure which one I like best. You’ve outdone yourself this week. I think the cats and tortoises was so funny, but there were several others I laughed harder at. I’m going to attempt to cut the cats one out to send to my sibs and kids. Unbelievable that they could actually video it at all.

  2. Yeah, a GREAT collection for today. My problem is that I have the mother of all colds and coughs, which makes me having an even worse headache from all the coughing because of having to laugh…. (but I don’t blame you!)
Thank you so much – some great stuff and one I didn’t get at all. Must be me being Swiss.

    • I, too, have one of those colds whereby I can only sneeze, cough, and try to catch my running nose, then cough some more! Sorry I gave you a headache by making you laugh, but that’s better than the sort of headaches my writing usually gives people! Take some ibuprofen and it’ll be gone in an hour! I’m truly glad you enjoyed today’s humour! Which one did you not get at all … perhaps I can help!

  3. Hmm, Pizza with pineapples is a no-go for us… lol
Gosh, you have put together a fantastic collection of jokes here again.
Oh, and it is funny how afraid cats are regarding tortoises. We have a lot of cats around here but I don’t worry at all about my tortoise. He only needs to move and the cats are so confused and scared that the runoff… lol

    • It’s funny about pineapple on pizza — nobody is neutral on that one … they either love it or hate it! I’m so glad you enjoyed today’s humour. We have five cats, but no tortoises … heck, our Izzy would never come out from under the sofa if we brought a tortoise into the house! Ours are all rescue kitties and have either physical or emotional problems — sometimes both!

      • Haha, no “italiano vero” would ever put pineapples on his pizza (I have to admit, that I did not mind it… lol)
Oh, so that is a different case too, of course. So wonderful that they found a home with you!

        • Oh, I’m sure you’re right! (Don’t worry — I won’t tell that you didn’t mind it 😉 )

At one time we had ten rescues, but sadly are now down to five. We give them our love, a safe home, plenty of food/toys … it’s never quite enough, but it’s all we have.

  4. Dogs bark. Trees use mycellium!
2, I’ll seize her, if she let’s me.
The food chain, maybe. The brain chain, probably not. But, dogs drool, cats rule!
Our cats want the box with the sweater inside it. Much softer, and even more cozy.
I walked into the kitchen too! I was singing “Light My Fire”!
123, 123, never again. No more waltzing after that!
Tortoises and turtles need friends too. Persistance pays off.

        • Funny, I was always a dog person until Chris moved back home with her two cats back in 1994, and ever since, I’ve become a cat person. Not, mind you, that I don’t still love dogs … and frankly, they are easier to understand … but cats present a certain … challenge!

Having lived with cats for 69 years (at least) there isn’t much they can do to surprise me, but they constantly make us laugh.SiSi, though, is the first cat I ever lived with that refuses to grow up. 3 years old and she still thinks she is a kitten. I hope she stays that way aĺl her life.

            • Our Izzie is the same as SiSi … and she’s tiny enough, even though she is nearly 8 years old, to pass for a kitten of under a year old. Like you, I love all animals and even rescue the occasional cricket that comes into the house if I can get to it before Boo does — he delights in pulling the legs off the poor crickets!

              • SiSi certainly does not look like a kitten. She is the largest girl in the house (all fuzz), and is threatening to surpass the younger boy. But run, jump, play chase, makes anything into a toy, and keeps making pipecleaner tea. Maybe she is drowning snakes in her mind, but the other cats don’t like pipecleaner tea.
The cutest thing SiSi does is hook one claw into a soft toy, and swing her hand up and down till the toy flies into the air. She never know for sure what direction it will go, but her resctions are so fast when she sees it go, she tries to catch it before it hits the ground. She is so proud of herself when she succeeds. (It starrted we had to throw the toys but we weren’t always around so she learned to throw tnem herself!)

                • Ha ha … I LOVE watching ours play like that! Tiger can even throw a toy mouse a good 15 feet across the room and still catch it mid-air! You should do a post about your kitties some day, with pictures!

                    • Yes, I still have it, too! People enjoy seeing our furry family members … I know I do. How many horses do you guys have now? Are they all doing well so far? Heh heh … no, you would never hint 😉

                    • We still have 5 horses, but Tricksy is presently sharing a pen with Schramsberg, a sire. Hopefully we will have 6 horses around this time next year. (11 month term).
Halory is still leading the clan, but unless she insists, her breeding days are over. She is 23 years old.
Ginny is four now, and is looking stronger than she did last year. 5 starts: 0 wins, 1 Second, 1 Third, 3 lasts. Our trainer expects better results this year, but there are a lot of factors to make that happen.
Kitty is now 3, and is in training as we speak. We watched her do her routine yesterday. She is learning her job, but is showing a rebellious spirit at the same time. Alison says she is very intelligent, which makes her easier to train.
Venus is now a yearling, and developing nicely. She is almost two hands taller then her best friend who is also a yearling. A tall horse means long legs, and a longer stride. But really, it is not time to think about her career. She needs to enjoy being a baby for awhile yet.
                      And thus the family grows…

                    • Thanks for the update! And thumbs (or hooves) up to Kitty for her rebellious spirit! Sometimes that wins the race, y’know! I don’t recall knowing about Venus … the only name that didn’t ring a bell. Yes, the family grows! Keep me posted on their progress … and send some new pictures when you think about it! Hugs to you, Gail, the kitties, and the horses!!!

          • My back’s whacked out (I have degenerative disc disease) & my mother’s in the hospital with unspecified heart issues … they’ve ruled out stroke & heart attack … they’ve done a battery of tests but they don’t know what is wrong. I was in too much pain to get down there to sit with her. Hopefully I can get there this morning (Tuesday) but I’m getting around round of injections this morning so I’ll have to wait & see how I’m doing. My sister came in from Rochester. She’s the favorite, anyway.

  5. Against some pretty stiff opposition, the golf club on their anniversary is my favourite this week.
You, Jill, might appreciate the british rolling pin version:
    Man explaining to the doctor….
I came home and my wife was crying.
I said ‘What are you crying for dearest?’
She said ‘The dog’s eaten your dinner’
I said ‘Never mind dearest. I’ll buy you another dog’
    😄
