We need Trump – Really?

Keith ponders the many, many reasons that the former guy should NEVER be given the keys to that big White House on Pennsylvania Avenue again. After 4 years in office, and another two spent attempting to subvert and destroy this nation, some people still believe he is a viable candidate for the job. I’m with Keith here … he is the WORST possible candidate! Thank you, Keith … your words need to be heard far and wide!

I saw a MAGA fan of the former president holding up a sign that said “We need Trump.” My response is “really?” A person voted by over 150 presidential historians as in the bottom five as one of the worst presidents ever? I am sure this poll of historians does not make many far right’ news blips.

The rationale for such a low rating, per one of the historians who so voted, is on top of his policy decisions and making America’s standing in the world fall, his poor handling of the COVID pandemic and his role in the seditious insurrection against a branch of government pull him down. It is not a surprise that his sycophants are trying to re-write history on these two issues.

But, these two issues do not stand alone. Here are a few other things to chew on:

  • His one focus his first year was…

  1. The world only cares about America behaving rationally. And as bad as Trump was, he was not as close as bad as Biden. The Ukraine catastrophe was already in the making when he went into the WH but maybe he could’ve dampened the hard fall by just refusing to sink so much money into a lost cause and deplete the own military of all its weaponry.
Because Ukraine is a bad deal for the West, and we all know how much he hates bad deals.

    • Curious … if the U.S. had not stepped in and Russia had handily taken over Ukraine, what do you think might have been their next target? Or their END GOAL?

      • Why curious, Nan, don’t you follow geopolitics with baited breath, like the rest of the world?
Ok, I’ll tell you what would’ve happened:

Russia wouldn’t have handily taken over Ukraine. Their initial SMO force was much too small and badly prepared to do so.
Russians don’t lie. They have no reason to lie. When they say something is like this or that – it is so. So it was indeed a Special Military Operation, hastily put together and set into motion when news surfaced that after 9 years of permanent shelling of Donetsk and Lugansk, Ukrainian troops where about to move in and make an end to the uprising.
Russia had and still has no next target.
Russia’s end goal was to force Zelensky to the negotiation table and to finally …
        a) acknowledge the existence of the 2 breakaway republics
        b) refrain from turning Ukraine into a NATO state
After it became more and more clear that Zelensky was indeed nothing but a handpuppet for the CIA and not permitted to make any peace deals with Russia (we remember some visits by Johnson and other crisis managers), they had to drastically improve and widen their operation. Crossing the borders of Donbass region if need be. We are at exactly that stage by now.
After the fall of Bakhmut they will probably continue their way, liberate more towns and cities, and send the nazis packing. They don’t want to. They have no need for the costly problem child Ukraine but as long as Ukraine is nothing but a client state, a sacrificial lamb for WH and NATO they can’t and won’t stop.
Since Zele ain’t the right person to talk to and WH refuses to be responsible and pretends to have nothing to do with the tragic catastrophe, they will go on, up to Odessa (for securing the whole Black Sea coastline) and to clear out Kiev to create a blank slate.
It’s a clusterfuck! I hope we can all agree on that. The Russians got a present they never wished for, and the WH is equally set in its ways. Both parties can’t or won’t find a way out. You know how stubborn old men can be.
The Russians will have to fight this to the bitter end. And they will emerge as the winners since they clearly have the means to outproduce and outperform NATO. And they have China and the rest of the world behind them, while the collective West has lost all influence in Asia, Africa and Central/South America. “The natives getting restless!” And they clearly side with China/Russia.
WH also has to admit they clearly underestimated Russia’s abilities and industrial power. So they pump more and more funds into the lost cause, re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. There goes my pension funds. Too bad. 😦

This is the situation as it presents itself right now. Zelensky fantasizes about a spring offensive, re-occupying Crimea while all the military experts are just counting the days until the house of cards collapses. NATO states are scratching the bottom of the barrel already and are not prepared to send more material and weapon systems, the Ukro troops can’t operate anyway. It’ll be like so often in history: All the small single losses are cascading up to a sudden crash.
        It’s gonna be ugly! 😮
Let’s just hope the WH won’t do anything stupid. 😐 I’m too young to die! You too, I suppose.
