  1. You said it would be a quick decision, Jill. I had my doubts. Kudos! And kudos to E. Jean Carroll, who pursued this damn thing for so long–and to her brilliant lawyer, Robbie Kaplan (who most definitely does not find Donald Trump her “type.” It must have been hard for her not to say anything in response to his disgusting words.) Hooray for karma!

    • I was wrong, though … I thought it would take them only two hours, when it actually took them three!!! Yes, my hat is off to Ms. Carroll … she is one courageous lady to put herself through this, not just for her own sake, but for women around the world. Heh heh … nope, Ms. Kaplan would not have given “The Donald” a second glance! Hooray, indeed, for karma!

    • Ultimately, probably. In the interim, he will try his level best to keep it tied up in appeals for as long as he can. If he dies, then his estate will have to pay it … might actually be the best solution all the way around!

  2. This, hopefully, will, put a damper, on the minds of those, avid, Trump supporters, damaging his morale, more or, less, and, hopefully, the Republican Party will, think, three times (at least), before they formally, nominate him for the presidential, candidate on the, ticket…

    • Sadly, it will probably draw his avid supporters even closer to him, for they will believe him when he tells them it’s a “witch hunt” and that he has been “treated so badly”. Even Republican women seem to have no pride when it comes to Trump-worship!

        • No one can make Trump pay the fine, as best I understand the law. But my experience is based on Canadian law, not American. It’s kind of an honour system, you receive a judgment and you abide by it. Trump has jot a gram of honour in his body or his mind. He will ignore this, and hope she sues.
I just heard he is appealing.
Question: Will he even pay his lawyers?

          • Yeah, once the appeals have run out, he will be forced to pay the fine. Legal judgements are not just something you can abide by if you want to, or ignore if you wish. I suspect he and his lawyers will drag this out as long as possible. I’m guessing he pays his lawyers, else why would they even bother to associate with such a filthy piece of crap?

            • I was ordered in court to pay a guy a $50 fine for allowing him to run into the back of my car when I slowed down to stop for a yellow light he was speeding up to race through. I never paid and no one ever came looking for me. If I can get away with a $50 fine, Trump can get away with a $5,000,000 fine.

                • On the second point, true, there may be a difference. On the first point, the amount should not matter. A fine is a fine and “should be” paid.
In my case the fine was unjust, I was rear-ended at a signal-controlled intersection. The reason the other guy won, he gave testimony by swearing on the Bible. I watched the judge make the sign of the cross on his chest. I made an affirmation, thus announcing I was not a Christian. After that the judge never listened to a word I said. I could not afford to appeal, and it wasn’t worth it anyway. I just never bothered to pay the fine. Trump, he doesn’t pay any bills unless he is forced to. And he knows, all he need do is ask his cult members for money, and they will give it to him.Either way, he won’t be paying out of his pocket.

                  • ‘Tis sad, but not surprising that religion once again won out, but you’re right, an appeal would have cost you more than the ticket! You might be surprised to learn how many times Trump has actually had to pay fines and charges from his own money, or rather his company’s money. I still think he’ll end up paying this time, but it won’t send him into bankruptcy or anything close.

  4. But haven’t you heard? Trump says he has no idea who she is, and of course he has such a great record in telling the truth —- Oh wait! His record is in NOT telling the truth. I just saw the article in the New York Times about an hour ago. And also the part where the judge advised the jurors to remain completely anonymous forever. Sounds like a great idea to me! This man can be vicious. I worry about the judge though. This man is vicious!

    • Oh yeah, I heard, but since he’s already seen pictures of himself standing next to her, and since he’s already made statements that proved he knew who she was, his words are rather flat. I have no doubt he would go after the jurors if he were to ever find out who they were, so I hope that doesn’t happen. I honestly think the best solution for the nation is this man’s death. I know that sounds cold and heartless, but he is a time bomb ticking down and nothing … NOTHING good will ever come from him.

      • The worst thing about time bombs is that they take out everything around them. I agree he is definitely a time bomb and God help anyone in his way. I also agree that his death will be the only way he can be controlled, although I am a dedicated component of the right to life for everyone, including people on death row. But in his case I can turn my head quickly and willingly for as long as it takes. He is one who was born bad and nothing will stop him until he becomes dictator of the world, or he drinks his own Kool Aid thinking the rest of the idiots will drink with him. Maybe he will decide to try to die and replace God! That seems to be his ultimate goal.

        • I have never before wished death on a person, but I think I would have wished it on Hitler if I had been alive then, and rightly so. In the same vein, I find that yes, cruel as it may seem, I wish for Trump’s timely demise, for he is a threat to the 8 billion people on the planet Earth. Far too many people fail to understand this.

          • I know inside myself that there has to be a reason for people like Hitler and Trump but I am having trouble finding out what that reason could be. Maybe it’s something as simple as showing the rest of the world how NOT to be, but it seems more complex than that. If only people would think for themselves and not believe everything they hear or see or read in the newspaper. But first we need news reporters who would tell the truth rather than sensationalize simple statements, making them more exciting so they can sell more copies. Or maybe we need for the people to demand the truth and stop supporting the sensationalists by buying their lies and treating them as truth. There are a million answers for each question, but in the end it all boils down to greed. I wish news stories would be banned in all public forums and the ones who spread them would be prosecuted if they can’t prove the truth of what they say. We desperately need accountability from everyone in the public eye.

  5. I hadn’t heard this yet … but am DELIGHTED!!!

At least there are still people sitting on juries who know who to hear the FACTS and make an informed decision ((unlike those who judged Kyle Rittenhouse).

    • It was funny … I had just told my granddaughter, tongue-in-cheek, that if the jury had any sense, it shouldn’t take them more than two hours to find Trump guilty, when I got four “breaking news” alerts on my phone almost all at once! Oh don’t even mention that Rittenhouse punk, who will probably be elected to Congress once he’s old enough … grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr …
