Good morning, friends! How was your weekend? It was so hot here that I happily stayed in all weekend .. the temps were in the 90-degree range (F) with humidity of around 85% … not conducive to being able to breathe! In honour of the first Monday in Pride Month, Joyful has cooked up some very colourful goodies for us this morning, so let’s go see what’s on the buffet table, and then Jolly has some things to help us start the week with a smile …
I always think it’s fun to start with a few cute critter pictures, don’t you?
Jolly has been collecting some more of those funny signs you see now and then …
And now for our weekly selection of ‘toons!!!
And just a few funny memes we happened across …
And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for … the funny animal video! I hope you like this one … it really made me laugh!
Well, friends … yep, it’s about that time again … time to pick up the briefcases, don the hard hats and head out to earn a living. Unless you’re lucky, like me, and already put in your 50 years or so and lived to tell about it! We’re glad you were able to join us this morning and we hope you have a safe and happy week ahead! And remember to share those smiles this week … there will be a basketful of smiles by the door in case you want to grab a few extras just in case! Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa, Jolly and Joyful!!!

Your pics always make me smile, especially the 15 minute old lamb. Seems like we both had a heatwave last week. This week is back to springish- almost summer, lol ❤

I’m so glad! That baby lamb seems to have melted everyone’s hearts! Yes, a heatwave, especially for this early in the season … I’ve a feeling we’re in for a long, hot summer. I’m betting we’ll see temps in excess of 100° during July and August. ❤

Sheesh, was 95F here most of last week. Back to a pleasant 75, but I’m inclined to agree with you about summer temps. ❤

I hope you are far, far away from the wildfires? ❤

Thanks Jill. I am far away, but the air quality is affected here since yesterday from the fires. I just watched American news stating New York is getting what we have here in Toronto. As the announcer said, it’s coming from Canada. Climate change is raising its head. We usually only have those fires in B.C., now their blowing in northern Ontario and Quebec, which is undoubtedly affecting areas of your Northeastern states. 😦 xx

Yes, climate change is raising its ugly head, but you know there will still be those who deny it, for to acknowledge it means they might have to give up something, like their gas-guzzling SUVs or flying to Disneyland for vacation! A conscience is a terrible thing to some people. Funny, isn’t it, how the media here in the U.S. has been largely silent about the Canadian wildfires until the smoke reached the U.S.! I knew about the ones in Alberta from my friend Jerry, but didn’t realize the scope of the fires. Keep safe, my friend!

Thanks Jill. I thought so too. I watch a lot of news and never a mention of our fires, until yesterday. Every time I flicked on the news it was the scenes of New York and because of Canada. Meanwhile, we have fire fighters here from U.S. and as far as from Australia. ❤

I wondered about that — it seems that every nation has a vested interest in helping you guys get those fires under control, but I hadn’t heard whether you were getting any assistance or not. I’m glad to know that you are! ❤

Gotta love that newborn lamb. So cuddly!
Queane was excellent, but too long. Felt forced toward the end.

I know … I want one, but I don’t think the kitties would take kindly to it! It did go a bit long, but still so creative!

‘Round here there’d be a cop or two in that crowd, watching the guy in the hole.
Word is they get paid overtime to ‘watch traffic’ …

Hmmm … might have been a cop or two in cognito, dressed as workmen, eh? You never know!

Jill, so three morals – beware of randy kangaroos, don’t hire Elmer Fudd and stay out of Texas unless you are packing heat. Keith

Love the sloth and babies. I’m a big fan of Elmer Fudd too. 🙂
Thanks for cheering up a cloudy Monday, Jill.
Best wishes, Pete.

Another class collection Jill. The MacDonalds is very clever, blink and you might miss it.
My hat is doffed to whoever put Bohemian Catsody together, how do they do it?… I’ve just worked out how to switch off a new phone.

I’m glad you found some chuckles here, my friend! Yes, as soon as I saw that Bohemian Catsody I knew I had to have it for Jolly Monday! Like you, I have no idea how to even begin doing such a thing … ’tis why I resist the idea of a new computer or new phone until mine finally takes its last gasp!

Wise move. We invested in a new phone for Sheila and a Fire Tablet for myself. They are fine, but getting to work out the counter-intuitive adjustments, settings and the like, can be a chore for those of us who were born and raised into adulthood in the paper and pen world.

I hear you!!! I screwed with something on WP and now my handy-dandy box of tools doesn’t move with the text and I keep having to scroll up to make something italics or bold, then scroll back down to where I was typing … and I cannot figure out what the heck I did! And when I last got a new cell phone about 5 years ago, Miss Goose had to set it up for me. And to think … I used to be able to take a computer apart and rebuild it, used to change my own oil, points, plugs, and condenser … now I look under the hood and don’t recognize a single part! I think it’s a conspiracy!!!

Things change at a pace Jill. You blink and ……whoosh….it’s all changed.
Except Idiocy. That has not changed one jot.

Idiocy has changed, though … it’s spread like wildfire!

It finally rained today — for about half an hour. Then came the lightning and the thunder. I wonder how many new wildfires we will be finding out started tonight!

It hasn’t rained here in almost a week and I really wish it would! I hadn’t heard anything for the past week or so about your wildfires, so I thought perhaps they were largely over and done. I guess not, eh? Take care, Amigo!

The government took off the “emergency” designation a couple of days ago, but there are still two indigenous communities on full evacuation, and a number on high alert. I guess indigenous people are not a government concern. Meanwhile, fires in Quebec and the Maritimes and getting worse!

Why doesn’t that surprise me? Sigh. I think it’s going to be a long, hot summer in more ways than one.
