Jolly Last-Monday-In-July Monday!

Good Monday morning, dear friends!  Yep, today is the last day in July, typically the hottest month of the year in the northern hemisphere, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up for the temps to cool down any time soon this year!  Anyway, we are only three months away from Hallowe’en … time to start preparing!  How was your weekend?  I hope you all got to do something fun, or at least stayed home and stayed cool!

Joyful and I decided on some cool, no-cooking-required foods for this morning’s snack, so sorry — no bacon this week!  Help yourself to the buffet and then let’s go see what Jolly, Joyful and I have found that we hope will start your week off on the right foot, with a smile or a chuckle …

I thought we’d start the morning out with some of those cute, awwwwww-inspiring pictures …

How ’bout a few puns?

And now … {drumroll} … TIME FOR ‘TOONS!!!

Jolly has been collecting some funny memes this week that he wants to share with you …

As always, we end with a cute or funny critter video.  This week’s is a bit different than usual, as it comes from a post on Scottie’s Playtime and it’s a bit longer than usual, but I think you’ll find it well worth the few minutes spent watching it.  Thank you, Scottie!!!

Well, my friends, it’s time to go take this week by the horns and tame it!  I hope you all have a good week ahead and please remember to share those gorgeous smiles I see on your faces!  Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa, Jolly ‘n Joyful!!!

    • Heh heh … I almost didn’t use that one, since Jolly Monday is, by my self-imposed standard, supposed to be “politic-free”, but it was just too good to pass up!

WP seems (touch wood) to have gotten the problem with Reader esolved, though time will tell. Do let me know when you have a problem accessing my posts, so I can pass it along to them!

    • IF humans were more like almost every other species on the planet, I might hold out some hope for them. But we are not. While I’ve written before about a cat taking on abandoned puppies and taking care of them, other animals being best friends with one of another species, humans cannot even seem to accept people whose skin colour is different than their own! And humans invented that thing called ‘religion’ that no other species felt was necessary … only humans wanted/needed a means to manipulate and control others. I’m not so sure but that maybe it’s time for humans to become extinct, let the Earth and whatever species remain heal the planet. No, love — at least the unconditional type — is not a human thing.

      • You should be aware that none of the earthlings in that video could have made that video except for the humans.
A sea anchor can right and save the boat but at great cost in drag. If you would get onboard at slightly greater risk we might go faster. Buddhism must be the dumbest religion. They claim to believe in something called samsara. Death is final everyone knows that. There is no God, this is your one and only shot. You should take it in the head.
        You are WRONG!
Life begins at birth but my half life began sometime around my father’s 10th or 12th birthday and ended in his 25th year after proposing 156 billion iterations. Hopefully one of them will be able to crack the code on the stealing and killing things and I’ll be able to get out.
Stop swilling the poison of negativity.
As proof I have never met you but I love YOU.

    • I’m glad you liked them! I usually try not to include humans in the ‘cute critter pics’ feature, but that one just melted my heart and I couldn’t resist. Have a good week ahead, my friend!

  2. This whole post has been a highlight in every way. I had great fun and many laughs watching all this. The Chariot one made me think of an old tale from France, which you might never have heard about General de Gaulle: Mrs. de Gaulle entered a room where her husband was. She tripped on the rug and cried out “Mon Dieu!” He replied: “Mon general” is sufficient!
I remember ever that I thought (already then): Typical male behaviour….
Thanks a lot for this start of a new week.

    • Oh, I’m so glad to hear that, Kiki!!! No, I had not heard that story about deGaulle, but it definitely made me laugh!!! I hope you have a good week ahead and find many more smiles along the way!
