Words have consequences.  One would think that a person elected to public office would be smart enough to understand that and thus to choose his or her words carefully.  Not so when it comes to Republicans today!  Their manufactured outrage over the criminal charges brought against Donald Trump has given voice to non-stop lies and dangerous rhetoric.  Already this month a woman was arrested for leaving a death threat on the voice mail of Judge Chutkan, the judge overseeing the federal case regarding Trump’s attempt to overthrow the 2020 election.  Our friend Keith sums it up in his message to those Republican public servants whose rhetoric is almost certain to lead to more violence.

  2. denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance We will all be going through them no matter which side of the issue. The corporate oligarchy will have to eventually be dealt with evan after the demise of the cult.

  3. Jill, many thanks for the reblog. I encourage folks to reach out to any Republican Senators or Representatives that govern your voting district, as well as any leaders in the chambers. I reinforced the message I wrote and added we need these leaders to speak out against violence. Plus, these threatening folks are reacting to Republican leaders posturing that Trump is being treated unfairly. He is not. The people who brought charges did their homework. Trump is the constant in all these equations. We must hold people accountable. So, we must get to the bottom of these serious charges.

    • My pleasure, Keith. We all need to be reminded that it is up to us to let our elected officials know how we feel. The squeaky wheel gets the oil, as I’ve heard said, so we all need to start squeaking a little louder!
