As I pondered over what to write about this afternoon, I noticed my political cartoon file is once again bulging, so I decided to empty it before musing on such things as why the House of Representatives is wasting time on impeachment hearings when they have only 11 days to pass 12 appropriations bills to keep the lights on past September 30th! So, once again, for your viewing pleasure here are what I consider some of the best efforts of the political cartoonists, with a few memes thrown in for fun! Meanwhile, I’ve got a letter to write to my wayward representative, Warren Davidson!

Behind the humour of these, the messages are quite chilling to me.
Best wishes, Pete.

All too accurate….
We should have all realised something was up in 1990 when Andrew Dice Clay played two nights sell-out at Madison Square.
And then came Newt Gingrich

Yep … both assholes with a spotlight shining on them.

The fact that Boebert who made blasphemous remarks relating to the most solemn period in the Christian Year and is still supported by the Right says it all.
Although it appears Trump and the alleged Pro-Life elders might be on a collision course.
That’s going to be interesting to see who squirms first.

Sigh. After today, the only outcome I see is the U.S. becoming the next Nazi Germany with a fatman who cannot even speak in whole sentences becoming dictator with the likes of Boebert deciding who gets to live and who dies. I, meanwhile, will be safe with my wolf pack brothers ‘n sisters. 🐺

I’ve said this before Jill. They will try, but they are not ready or understanding of the forces they are tampering with.
A very diluted version at civil level of this is what awaits them.

And typically I agree with you. But today … it feels different. It feels like the forces of evil have grown, while the forces of good have decided to sit down, shut up, and see where the chips fall. Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhh …

When it comes, and it will come, it will come from the voter base. If the grimmest of runes are any indication this grouping will give democracy one last chance in 2024.
If the Right are not swept away other alternatives will be sought. They will be disparate and thus will come in all directions.
They will beyond the reach of the Democrats who will be discredited in their eyes.
The Republicans will be their targets.

Whereas these quasi-militias think they have a plan and believe a coming conflict will be a good thing (fools- think Berlin 1945); the populist politicians who play about on the fringes of these ideals just do not have a clue of the burdens they would be expected to bear or the end of their playground games into hardball.

No, they have lived a life of comparative peace & luxury and they are clueless. But they will find out, if they have their way, and we will all pay the price, not just here in the U.S., but around the globe. Sigh.

As an experienced cat herder did you get a twinge of sympathy for McCarthy? 🙂

Jill, I love Wanda Sykes. Now, I love her even more. Too funny. Of course, with the focus on what John Fetterman wears and Barack Obama’s missing flag pin, Republicans have shown as long as you wear a suit and a flag pin, it is OK to act seditiously or look the other way when someone does. Keith

So do I, Keith! She is involved in so much good work … what’s not to love? Oh yes, but not just ANY suit … remember when Obama wore a tan suit once? GASP … you’d have thought he walked in naked! Or here’s another for you … remember how much of a stink they made when Michelle Obama wore a sleeveless dress one time? Now look at Marge Greene … she ALWAYS wears sleeveless dresses and nary a word is said. Double standard?

Once again, I had to hit the FOLOW button.. i’m really getting sick of this. In my mind, it is happening too often to be random. I don’t know how it is possible to Unfolliw someone from a blog, but some hacker must know how. Any ideas?

Again??? Sheesh! I wonder how many readers I’ve lost because WordPress ‘unfollowed’ me on their behalf and they nor I noticed? Nope, I’m fresh out of ideas when it comes to trying to figure out what WordPress and its techies are doing! I really don’t think it’s a hacker, though, but rather either a glitch in the system, or somebody inadvertently hitting the wrong button in the control room.

I thought so too! I love her … she speaks her mind and it’s almost always good common sense! She’s very active in LGBTQ issues, works with PETA and with the homeless, to name just a few of her causes.
