Have Some Jolly With Your Monday …

Good Monday Morning once again, dear friends!  How was your weekend?  I hope it was at least peaceful and that the weather was nice.  It was here … both peaceful and lovely with blue skies and temperatures in the mid-70s.  The girls went to a local fall festival on Saturday and had a nice time … I gather it was mostly a collection of food trucks, and they brought me back a cup of blackberry ice cream that I enjoyed!  And now, the weekend is done and it’s time to get back to the daily grind.  We — Jolly, Joyful and I — are here to start your week with some smiles, chuckles, and maybe even a laugh or two!  So, let’s see what Joyful has for us on the buffet table and then seek something to start the week off on a happy note.

Let’s start with some music puns, shall we?

Then there are all these funny, sometimes thought-provoking signs!

And now on to the main course, the ‘TOONS!!!

And just a few memes …

And now for this week’s cute animal video.  Those of you who know me well, know that I’ve always considered the wolf to be my spirit animal … I don’t know why, but I have a natural affinity for the wolf.  So I was overjoyed when I found this video about a man who rescued a wolf and how they have bonded.  I hope you like it, too!

Well, friends, that’s all we have time for today.  I hope those smiles I see on your faces last you throughout the coming week and that you’re able to share them with others who didn’t get to come visit us today.  Keep safe and have a happy week!  Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa, Jolly & Joyful!!!

  1. I often don’t get the music puns, but so what … 😉 … I loved most of the others, especially the signs. And the video, I do like wolves a lot and bought a book about them when I was a teenager. But I still might be afraid when I meet a group of them in the wild.

  2. I loved all of these-thank you, Jill!
As to “bork”: the doggy we had before our Corky was Chrissy. She was a little dachshund who was a Grande Dame by the time she crossed the bridge-almost 21 yo. About 3 yr. before she crossed, the vet said let her eat whatever she wanted as long as she ate. She ate hamburger, cooked and lightly seasoned with salt-free seasoning. It could get expensive, then I saw bork at the store (not called bork on the meat line, but it was on the checkout ticket. I loved that!) Anyway, it helped a lot with the expense. No one at the store could figure out what it was good for; I’d have thought sausage or specialty burgers, but we fed it to our dachshund doggy. Never did try it ourselves. Anyway, just a bit. I really liked all of this, and can’t choose a favorite. Happy week, Jill and all!

    • I’m so glad you enjoyed them, Ali! Wow … Chrissy lived a very long, and no doubt happy life! I thought “bork” was just a misspelling of “pork” … but after reading your comment, I wondered, so I Googled and found that bork is actually a blend of beef and pork! Who knew? You have a happy week too, dear friend!

    • Ah well, you can’t please anyone all the time, right? Wolves and dogs are both a sub-species of the species canis lupus, so it’s natural that they would share many features, yes?

        • I dunno … I Googled “timber wolf”, looked at the images, and didn’t see much difference. So then I Googled “what is the difference between timber wolves and grey wolves?” and got this …

“The Michigan Department of Natural resources describes the eastern (timber) wolf as being “smaller and less stocky than the gray wolf.” These differences may exist because, while the eastern wolf is considered to be a subspecies of the gray wolf, the latter wolf is also considered to be a kissing cousin of the coyote.”

          • The timber wolves I have seen in Northern Canada are not small, that is for sure. Maybe we have different names up here, I don’t know. But it really doesn’t matter. When you come back as a wolf, come back in Northern Alberta, or maybe Siberia. The climate up here makes more demands on them. They have to be tough to survive.

    • I’m so happy you enjoyed them!!! Yes, I got that too, but probably only because when my daughter was in her high school marching band, they played “Eye of the Tiger” every time they played at a football game! Have a great week ahead, my friend!

      • What a character!
Meanwhile we are slogging through the past couple of weeks; both caught something that might be covid but the tests say isn’t. Sheila has been very ‘rough’ with it. Off to the doctors today for advice.
        Hugs will be passed on.🌻🌼🌷

          • We met with a very helpful ‘Practice Nurse’ (That’s not a nursing practicing; that a fully qualified experienced nurse working with a usual set up of a group of doctors known as ‘A Practice’- dunno why).
She reckoned Sheila has bronchitis. Doesn’t recommend anti-biotics, which is fine by Sheila as she doesn’t like them unless it’s truly severe. What was suggested was something out of the old days…..Lemon & Honey drinks and steam these the passages, and rest. So, we’ll keep on, keeping on 🙂.
            Thanks for your concern Jill.

            • I’m surprised no antibiotic was recommended for the bronchitis … here, that’s the first line of defense for almost any condition. Yes, please do keep on keeping on, take care of yourselves … the world needs you both … I need you both!!! Keep me posted … love ‘n hugs to you both!

              • In the UK there’s been a move (by general consensus) to move away from antibiotics as the first line of defence as it was felt there was a tendency to over use them and lower the chances of natural resistances building up. Different regions of the world, different approaches. They are still around in great numbers and are frequently used. Our son-in-law and Meg caught nasty version of covid and he developed quinsy- liquid antibiotics straight away.

Thanks Jill for your kind thoughts and words. We’ll keep on being cautious and pace ourselves.
                Hugs back 🥰🥰

    • I’m so glad you enjoyed Jolly Monday today! I debated whether to use that cartoon here, since in some ways it’s not too in keeping with the “no politics” rule on Jolly Monday, but I just couldn’t resist! Have a happy week, my friend!
