Last week, President Biden gave a speech that has been dubbed one of his best ever, if not THE best ever. I agree, as does our friend Annie. Annie’s post from Saturday includes a video link to the speech, a link to the full transcript, but also, in the interest of time, she has culled the most relevant parts of the speech into an abbreviated transcript. If you do nothing else, I hope you will at least read that “Cliff Notes” version, for I think you will see that the President is today a defender of the Constitution, of the underlying democratic principles of this nation. Thank you so much, Annie, for doing this!

Hello. With great respect to Jill and Annie, who are both bloggers I follow and enjoy, I just learned of this interview this morning and decided when I get a break I want to post the entire YouTube video. I think the more distribution we can get on this video interview the better. From what I have heard it covers issues important personally to me and of course as mentioned show Biden in full strength. That said, sadly the maga that moved into the mobile home park I live in won’t believe the video or will say it was after Biden had been medicated and it had been stopped and edited together so he could rest. There is no talking to them, their minds are closed, like all bigots and racists that hate trans people, gays, and blacks. Hugs. Scottie

Hello Again. I think I may have to eat crow and apologize. This morning on several podcasts they mentioned the Biden interview and gave snippets from it. But I talked to Ron when I couldn’t find it, and he said that was the video posted by Annie. Sorry, I thought they were different things. Hugs, Scottie

That’s great, Scottie! I’m delighted you’re posting it in its entirety. It’s actually a prepared speech with a teleprompter, but as I note he ad lobbed wittily and comfortably as well.
So sorry to hear about your crappy new neighbors! Hugs, Annie

I didn’t realize I’d made a typo in my response to you, but I think I’ve accidentally coined a useful new term!😊

Thanks, Scottie! Yes, I fully agree that the more people see the video, the better! Sure, there are those die-hard Fox viewers who won’t believe reality even when it smacks them upside the head, but there are also a lot of people who are fence-sitting right now, not sure what to believe, and it’s those people we need to reach out to. I like to think the bigots are in the minority, though some days it’s hard to tell, isn’t it? All we can do is try, my friend, which is what you, me, and Annie are all doing, along with many others. Hugs

I notice that with your reblog posts, there is no longer a link to the original post like there used to be. is this a new feature of wordpress or maybe my screen reader just isn’t reading the links.
Before, it used to say something like, read original post, 250 words” or something to that effect and I know that there have been some issues you’ve been dealing with regarding this platform.

Ahhhh … ever since WordPress changed the way re-blogging works, it’s been a bit confusing. Instead of the “read original post 250 more words” at the end of my intro blurb, there is a box with the first bit of the persons original post and the title of the post. To get to their original and complete post, you now need to click on the title of their post that’s inside that box. And, while I used to always set the link that took you to the original post to open in a separate window, I cannot do that anymore … so it automatically takes you away from my page and into theirs. Let me know if I can help in any way, like emailing you a link when I reblog?

Thank you, Jill, my friend. I believe people who are unduly worried about Biden’s age will be reassured by watching him in this speech.

I sure do hope so, Annie! I’m so sick of hearing about his age … funny, nobody ever mentions Trump’s age, though he’s only 3 years younger than Biden!

That’s right, and Media Matters has documented the disparity in the media. Nor is the media shining a light on the obvious decompensation that Trump demonstrates in his posts and public rants.

Exactly! A side-by-side picture of the two I saw somewhere a few days ago told the story! There was Joe Biden on his bicycle, slim ‘n trim, and Trump with his 300+ pounds spilling over his belt. Look at that, then listen to them each speak … sigh.

We are watching an ordinary man with vast experience in his craft demonstrate the Master skills that can only be acquired through experience and the hard work getting the details done . In that speech you see a man at the top of his game right when his people, the American people needed someone to point out that although the difficulties remain the future still has all of it’s promises. Remember this time, seldom is the right choice so clear. This presidency is significant.

I agree 100%! It makes all those criticisms about his age, stuttering or stumbling seem ludicrous! And compare this speech to any speech by the former guy … there IS NO comparison! Yep, the right choice is clear. Let’s hope the minds of the voters are clear in 400 days!
