Our friend Roger takes a look at the current war in Israel and in so doing, reminds us what is really important. Wars aren’t started nor fought for people … they are fought for “things” … money, land, arms, oil, power, etc. And they are not fought by the people who start and direct the wars … oh no, the generals and politicians who make the decisions won’t be found on the front lines being shot at. Nor will their homes likely be the ones bombed, nor will it be their children killed when a bomb is dropped on their school. Who started the war … whose fault is it? We can discuss that ad infinitum, but it misses the greater point … the lives of the innocent. Thank you, Roger, for putting this all into perspective for us.

Oh so sorry Jill. Thanks so much for sharing this, I don’t know how I missed your ‘share’.

When WordPress changed the way reblogging is done, they apparently took out the part where the original blogger was notified of the reblog! Why is it that every time they make “improvements”, they break something that was working just fine to start with? Sigh.

Seem to be a lot of those where WP is concerned.

Thanks for sharing the posting and your thoughts on this matter, Jill! In war it’s always the innocent who suffer. I will never understand why in war someone must win. We also can find other solutions. Best wishes, Michael

You’re so right, Michael. Those who start the wars are not the ones on the front lines, not the ones putting their families, homes, and lives on the line. I’ll never understand why humans cannot just learn to live in peace. Other species manage it! Perhaps those “bigger brains” get in the way, eh? xx

The people of the warring countries don’t want wars, it’s the, leaders who want to fight, but, the people, whose lives are lost, fighting those wars, not, of their, choosing.

Agreed on all counts.

War will end when all men realize they have enough. Perceived inequality is the root.

Ahhhh … but some aren’t satisfied with ‘enough’ or with equality, they must always have “the most”, even when they have nothing left to spend it on.
