Jolly November Monday!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr … it got cold out there all of a sudden!  Hello friends!  C’mon in, warm yourselves by the 🔥, and let us provide some nice warm snacks and some good fun, hopefully some smiles, chuckles and laughs!  I think Joyful was cold this morning, ’cause she seems to have been in soup mode, so grab a snack and we’ll delve into some humour to start this week on the right foot!

Jolly wants to start the morning off with some music puns he’s been collecting …

Meanwhile, Joyful loves to find funny signs …

And now, how ’bout some ‘toons!!!

Just a few fun memes from our collection …

And last, the moment you’ve all been waiting for … a cute animal video!  This one comes courtesy of our friend Richard, aka ryinger77, and is about a critter I’ve never heard of before, but that won my heart with this video!  Don’t get too attached, though, for tanuki are illegal in the U.S.!

Well, friends, we hope you’re leaving with a full belly and a smile on your faces.  Remember to share those smiles this week with others who might need one!  Keep safe and have a happy week ahead!  Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa, Jolly ‘n Joyful!

    • 🤣🤣 I had to enlist my daughter’s help to translate that musical help note!!! I knew some, but not all of those musical directions. I’m glad you found some things to laugh about here, my friend! Keep that smile on as you go through the week!

      • I voted first thing this morning, fwiw. We have a lot of nutballs running for city council and for school board. It’ll be a nailbiter for a day or two, now. But I will be smiling, thanks to Jolly, Joyful, and Filosofa!

        • We are so glad we helped you find a smile, my friend! (Here in Ohio, our main thing was two ballot issues: the first to codify abortion rights into the state Constitution, and the second to legalize marijuana. BOTH PASSED!!! I’m happy!

    • I find that the older I get, the more I realize I don’t know! I do love learning new things, and that raccoon dog was just too cute! I’m glad you enjoyed Jolly Monday and I hope you have a great week ahead!

  1. Jill, good selection. Seeing the woman with the broken heel reminds me of when the singer Bonnie Raitt won multiple awards for her late in career album at the Grammy’s or American Music Awards. As she walked up the stairs to accept, her heel broke. So, she took both shoes off and walked up to the podium. To me, it endeared her even more to her fans. Keith

    • That’s what I like … making the best of a bad situation, keep smiling even through the pain. It took me a minute to catch that “loose heel — Lucille” pun, but once I did I thought it was great fun!

  2. what a precious collection of smiles and sighs, dear Jill. Thank you so much. When I lived in Canada for a moment, I loved the racoons but when travelling, I realised that they were a pest too…. they are just so cute!

  3. Some of the signs were really extra precious today, thanks Jill!
In Sweden, Denmark and Germany we also have the Tanuki (for those countries I know for sure, I have only seen one in Sweden), but we call it marten dog in both languages, so we seem to think them in family with the martens and not the racoons. Or maybe those two are also related? They are cute, but a pest when you have them living under your roof, noisy and messy. 🙂

    • I’m so happy you enjoyed the signs! Sometimes you just wonder what took place in the past to create a need for certain signs.

There is, from what I read, only one zoo in the U.S. where the Tanuki can be seen and it’s … I think Oklahoma. Apparently they breed too much and too fast, and the concern is that they would overbreed and drive other wild animals from the land and into extinction. Still … they’re fun to look at, but no, I don’t suppose I’d do well with one as a pet, nor would it be very happy as a pet.

  4. Stellar collection Jill.
Of course more words of wisdom from Opal.
Now the City of Manchester is my kind of park, I just got to stand up and salute all those restrictions. (Grumpies for ever!)
The only trouble is having seen that, some jerk is going to go to another park and try and use two bicycles at once, and put up the attempt on Youtube.
