Good Jolly Monday morning, friends! Turned rather cold out there, didn’t it? Come on in and get warm … just give your jackets to Jolly and he’ll take care of them until you’re ready to leave later. So, how was your weekend? Do anything fun? Me? Nah … I did give myself some time off Saturday to read … and nap … and read some more, so that was nice, but otherwise I stayed contentedly indoors this weekend. Do you realize it’s only 42 days until Christmas??? Sheesh … I still haven’t recovered from last Christmas and here comes another! I’m trying to talk the girls out of having a tree this year, but I already know that’s a losing battle, so I guess I’m mostly doing it for the humour factor. I have got a bit of my shopping started, so I guess that’s a plus.
Well, let’s go see what Joyful has cooked up for us this morning and then we’ll proceed to start this week with humour and chuckles!
Let’s start with just a few animal memes … animals always bring a smile, even when they’re being obnoxious!
Are you up for a few puns?
And now onto the ‘toons! I warn you, I may be posting more ‘toons than usual because thanks to Phil over at Phil’s Phun, my stash has grown to over 200 ‘toons!!!
This one is especially for my daughter, Chris …
Since my collection of memes is also on the rise, though thankfully not up to 200, here are just a few of the ones I found funny …
And now, for the highlight of Jolly Monday … that cute animal video! I snagged this one from over at Sally’s Smorgasbord … thank you, Sally! You are just gonna fall in love with Lily … take a look …
And now, dear friends, sadly the time has come for us all to do whatever is on our docket for today. I hope that Jolly, Joyful and I were able to help start your week with a smile, and that the smile lasts throughout the week. But if you feel it fading, come back and grab another from the basket by the door! And feel free to grab an extra for a friend who might be in need of one, too! Keep safe and have a great week! Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa, Jolly and Joyful!!!

Just today I was sitting in the bsthroon minding my own business (and ignoring the two year-old kitten). I reached for the toilet paper, only to grab a handful of cat. When I looked there she was “shredding the paper!” She DOES NOT LIKE BEING IGNORED!

I have never ever had a kitten who didn’t shred toilet paper! It’s built into their DNA! We’ve always kept the bathroom door closed, for that very reason, though not so much anymore, as they do seem to outgrow their love of shredding t.p. as they age. I’m just glad you realized you had a handful of cat instead of toilet paper before you used it for its … um … intended purpose!

The difference was obvious — even a cat’s fur — for she is a cat, just stuck in her kitten phase — is softer than toilet paper these dsys. Shrinkflation has touched toilet paper too…

Well, not much can beat a cat’s fur for softness. I haven’t noticed a difference in the softness of toilet paper, though … it just doesn’t seem to last as long as it used to!

Having medical issues in that area, I have noticed a change. Maybe it’s just one brand so far, I don’t know. But I guarantee other brands won’t be far behind…

Try Northern.

Don’t have that brand in Alberta. Thanks for trying.

Definitely one of those Mondays. No brain cells to do complex Calculus over here!

🤣🤣 Now, why don’t I believe that? Methinks you could do complex calculus in your sleep! Have a happy week ahead, my friend!

Hahaha, I love this play with words… so funny! I wish you all the best for the Christmas preparations. There is still some time. Since it is my main season I have to be prepared early…

I’m so glad you enjoyed them, my friend! I could happily skip even noticing Christmas this year, but … the girls aren’t about to allow that to happen! So … 🎄🎅☃️ ho ho ho

I love Christmas too much to skip it. It is my favorite time of the year. This year I participate on a Christmas market with my company for the first time. So, ho ho ho from me too… lol

I used to feel that way, but these days it’s more work and expense than joy. But, we do what we do for our loved ones, anyway. Ho ho ho to you, too, dear friend!

I think it is less expensive than it used to be since the kids are grown-up and I don’t have that much time anymore to care for each detail. Less Christmas Lights, less decoriation, less cookies… lol And thank you, dear Jill 🎅

Heh heh … when they are grown up, their toys are much more expensive than the ones they asked for when they were little! I ordered something for my granddaughter (age 28) from her Christmas wish list yesterday. It cost $6.65, but the shipping was $20!!! It comes from Japan. Sigh. And my girls still insist on the same amount of decorations, baking, cookies, etc. Ah well … this too shall pass. 🎄

You would think it does mean less to them when they grow up. But in my case too, they absolutely enjoy Christmas the way they had it when they were children. They do insist (most of all my daughter – 28 too) to keep up certain traditions that makes Christmas for them. I am happy and thankful that appearently we gave them wonderful childhood memories they well (at least partly) implement in their own traditions💖

Your daughter is the same age as my granddaughter!!! Yes, daughter Chris, who just turned 53, makes certain we maintain the old traditions and thankfully, she and Natasha do most of the heavy lifting these days, as I just can’t. 🎄

So, funny, that your daughter and granddaughter are the same age like I am and my daughter. So, so cool!
If they want it the way they want it, they need to make more efforts. Most of all, when it is not that important to you. However, I hope you are better and stronger again soon, dear Jill!

They make it all worth the effort for us, don’t they? My girls are what keep me going these days. Thank you for your concern, Erika … I do so appreciate it!

Thanks for an informative post – always important to know the difference between horses and crocodiles, no matter how subtle. Have a jolly Monday, my friend, and keep warm!!

Yes, I try to educate on Monday mornings when the minds are still fresh from the weekend! Glad you learned something about how to tell a horse from a crocodile! It could be life-saving! Have a great week ahead, dear Emily!

Elephs are my favorite kind of ant! And the one about the donuts reminded me that my kids called our Christmas treat of Froot Loops “colorful cheerios.” We still call them that even though the kids are now 31, 29, 28, 25 and 17!

They’re my favourite kind of ant, too!!! Ha ha … round and with a hole in the middle … works for me! Yes, it’s funny how those things stick, no matter how old the kids get!

Jill, who knew Elvis was Big Foot puppeteered by an alien? I guess it is a way to control teenage girl AND conspiracy theorists’ minds at the same time. Yet, it would require a large pair of Blue Suede Shoes. Keith

You may well be right about that! It’s hard to think of murder and mayhem while watching cute critters, isn’t it?

Great funnies as always, but the disabled pig stole the show. She is so loveable.
Best wishes, Pete.

I knew as soon as I started watching that video that Lily would be my ‘cute critter’ of the week! I’m glad you enjoyed both the funnies and Lily!

More chuckles than I can cope with 🤣. And tried to find a favourite, tough work Earl and Opal had to take third place to ‘Polar Opposites’ and the ‘Difference between a Horse and a Crocodile’ (that one had me with the last two questions and the conclusion🤣)

I’m just happy to know I’ve brought you chuckles, whether it was Earl & Opal or the Horse & Croc, none of whom had anything to do with the Russian Revolution! Glad you enjoyed Jolly Monday!

I certainly will try … but if you saw the weather here … grey and wet and dark, has been like this for a month now.

That would be depressing for me … but, on the bright side, it’s time to put up the bright, colourful holiday lights now! That might help dispel some of the gloom …
