Our friend Annie watched the hour-long Rachel Maddow interview with Liz Cheney a few nights ago, and shared her takeaways from that hour. One thing that particularly impresses me is, as Annie notes, that while Rachel Maddow (and most of us) is 180° away from Liz Cheney on policy issues, the two were still able to sit down and talk like two civil humans, coming together over the common ground of the single issue they do agree on — that Donald Trump must never sit in the White House again! Members of Congress could take a lesson from these two women! The post ends with some very uplifting thoughts from the likes of Robert Hubbell and Greg Sargent … well worth the read! Thank you, Annie, for sharing your excellent thoughts on this interview!

Note posted on Annie’s site:
Annie, well said and done. Liz Cheney is, by far, the most courageous person in the Republican Party. I, too, do not agree with many policies, but will listen to her thoughts because of her devotion to the truth.
I would encourage you and your readers to read White House staff member Cassidy Hutchinson’s book “Enough.” Cheney played a key role in helping Hutchinson testify in front of the January 6 insurrection committee. Cheney helped give her protection from the Trump sycophants who offered death threats to her and Cheney for daring speak the truth.
Of course, she was under oath and Trump and his sycophants were not. It is easy for Team Trump to take pot shots from the cheap seats. I was tickled when Trump offered his usual and expected defense of he barely knew Hutchinson. She was only his Chief of Staff Mark Meadows’ assistant and was an attractive woman. I say the latter because Trump makes it a point to know on a first name basis all attractive women working near him. It is his nature.

I just have to say I watched Rachel’s interview and Nicolle Wallace’s and Nicolle’s was far superior. Much more in depth and they actually talked the full hour rather than Rachel taking a long time to tell you how different they were in ideology. I was disappointed in Rachel’s and I do like her.
Ari Melbar also had a good interview…

I will have to check out Nicolle Wallace’s … I’ve seen only snippets of Rachel’s. Thanks for the heads up, Mary! And I’ll look for Melbar’s, too!
