Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr … well, here it is Monday yet again … a cold one, at that, perfectly fitting for a Monday! I hope you all stayed warm and had a good weekend! I stayed in and tried to stay warm, though without much success! As long as I’m up and moving around, it’s fine, but I can only do that for a few minutes at a time these days, so I’ve mostly been c-c-cold! And that’s why you’re going to see lots of nice hot soup on Joyful’s menu today! So, let’s grab a bowl and a slice or two of bread and see if we can start this week out with some fun and laughter!
I’m twyin’ to warm Gwammie up, so I made soup, but here’s some bacon for you bacon lovers like David, Larry, Emily an’ the rest!
We haven’t had any cute pics in a while, so let’s start with a few of those …
And let’s try a few puns that Jolly found over at that punster Phil’s Phun …
Look at all da gweat ‘toons I found dis week!
And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for … a cute critter video! Every now and then I come across one showing how animals of different species become friends and I find those especially heartwarming. We humans could take a lesson from them!
Well, dear friends, it’s time for us to get busy … Christmas is exactly two weeks from today, so in addition to our usual chores ‘n stuff, I’m sure we all have extra things to do this week, like shopping, wrapping, baking, planning, etc. Try to carve out a bit of time for yourself each day, even if it’s only a half-hour or so … it’ll help you keep your sanity during this busy holiday season! And please remember that the holidays aren’t a happy time for many people, so if you see someone who looks a bit down in the mouth, be sure to give them a big smile … you’d be surprised how much of a difference it might make. Keep safe & warm, and have a good week ahead! Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa, Jolly and Joyful!!!

Thank you so very much for the good vibes, silly humor, and sweet animal video. Tolkien in his sleep made me LOL – I didn’t see that coming. Peace and Blessings to you, Jill.

I’m really glad you enjoyed Jolly Monday, my friend! Yes, I loved the Tolkien in his sleep one, too! I always think (hope) that if we can start the week out with a chuckle or a laugh, then the rest of the week is a little bit more … Jolly! Have a good week, JoAnna!

Yeah, a blanket and a large mug of soup. That’s the way to stay warm. Thanks for the laughs, Jill

Always my pleasure, John! And yes, I have a pot of veggie soup simmering in the crock pot for our supper tonight! And … homemade bread will also be on the menu! Glad you enjoyed Jolly Monday and I hope you have a great week ahead!

So many good chuckles, Jill, thank you! I didn’t get the one with mother and daughter and the baste though … cultural differences???
I have seen many of those interspecies friendship videos, it is so great. On Instagram there is a farm where puppies and small ducks grow up together, no animosity there either.
The funniest I have seen and heard was from Africa, where rangers noticed that a female giraffe and a Kudu buck absented themselves from their respective herds and met at a short distance away, out of sight of the others. I don’t know if they were lovers, but they were obviously friends and liked to be together … alone.

I’m so glad you enjoyed them, Stella! The one with the mother & daughter is a take on a song called “All About That Bass” … I don’t think it ever charted anywhere, so you may not have heard of it before: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_About_That_Bass Yes, I do love the videos about the interspecies friendships. We humans could just learn so much from the animal kingdom if only we opened our minds and hearts. Have a happy week ahead, my friend!

I love some vegetable soup at this time of the year… maybe not for breakfast but definitely for dinner! But looking at these cute pics warms at least the heart anyway 😍

Great batch of toons (especially when you take into account they’re not political)! 😀

Poor Earl the colonoscopy and the gastroenterologist😀. Reminds me of another classic. Joan Rivers ‘I’ve got an obstetrician who does jokes…’
Also ‘Twenty bucks a week on makeup, and he’s the best you can come up with?’ 😅

I almost didn’t post that one, but it was just too funny! Oh yeah … I remember those Joan Rivers monologues! Glad you enjoyed Jolly Monday, my friend! Keep warm and have a great week ahead, if possible! Are you feeling better now?

Yeah Joan Rivers could get away with the most outrageous, apparently tasteless comments, because she had the style and was a genius of delivery. I watched one of her last shows and she did not miss a beat, after many a line that would sink another comic she would growl at the audience ‘Aww, grow up!’
Thanks for asking Jill. I’m content and grateful for my family circle and friends on WP, but when I allegorically draw the curtains and look at the outside world…Nope. I hope of course.

She was a very funny lady and as you say, could get by with things that would have gotten other censored.
I hear you, my friend. I’m much the same these days, but we keep on keeping on, so that must mean we still have at least a bit of hope, yes?

Yep Jill. That we do. We keep up hoping in the face of all the facts, of the day. For all is always change. Hope is eternal.
Take care my dear friend. 🌻🌼🌷

The baby with the sticky-up hair was great. Those animal friendship videos are so heartwarming too.
5C here this morning, (41F) so not terribly cold. But rain is forecast for later.
Best wishes, Pete.

I know … my first thought was that this is a classic for a “stuck my finger in the light socket” meme! I’m glad you enjoyed the video … they always make me smile. Keep warm ‘n dry, my friend, and have a good, albeit busy week ahead!
